Hulk Hogan has passed at age 71

Did not expect this news today....

Evil Vito 07-24-2025 12:17 PM

That doesn't work for me, brother

Evil Vito 07-24-2025 01:23 PM

Wonder if Heenan will meet him at the pearly gates and tell him he needs to go down south

Evil Vito 07-24-2025 01:23 PM

Or maybe he can only pass through if he allows Sheik to fuck him in the ass and make him humble

DAMN iNATOR 07-24-2025 01:38 PM

Mr. America couldn't take Hogan knowing his true identity any longer and finally snapped and turned heel. I'll be a son of a bitch.

Not a great week for WWE Hall of Famers :(

Destor 07-24-2025 02:14 PM

There a point in time he was the most famous person on the planet

Evil Vito 07-24-2025 02:20 PM

There's a reason they included him in that Radio Shack Super Bowl ad where all the '80s icons come back.

Not a great week for dads on television reality shows that aired on MTV and VH1 in the 2000s

Big Vic 07-24-2025 03:16 PM

Chrisly better watch out.

Stu Hart 07-24-2025 03:41 PM

I guess he took one for Bischoff - so that he can get out of the R.A.F still born promotion.

M-A-G 07-24-2025 03:47 PM

This may be the greatest bit of news I've ever woken up to. Finally, that piece of shit shuffles off this mortal plane. I'm like the dog that finally caught the tire. I don't know what to do.

Anyway, I'll be in the can.

M-A-G 07-24-2025 03:52 PM

LOL, even my mom messaged me about this.

Always funny to stumble upon New Japan footage of Hogan and remember he was actually perfectly capable of having an athletic, technically sound match.

To his credit he realized very early on that he doesn't need to do all of that to get over in the west, especially in that era. It was all about crowd control, participation, and making the moves matter. As much as I enjoy guys going balls out there's something to be said about doing more with less and pretty much nobody's ever epitomized that better than Hogan.

There's a lesson to be learned there. Preferably with less racism.

Evil Vito 07-24-2025 04:21 PM

There's two Hogan matches I'll always remember fondly:

-Hogan vs. Goldberg on Nitro was pretty much THE match of my childhood/early wrestling markdom. Hated Hogan, loved Goldberg. Knew nothing about backstage, how the business works, work rates etc. It was just a guy I loved beating a guy I hated for the title and I got to see it on free TV and I thought it was awesome. Knowing later on that it's one of the worst business decisions of all time makes it funnier, because I can't ever take away how it made me feel as a kid.

-Hogan vs. HBK: watching the result of two grown men just completely refusing to be professional. The comical overselling, Hogan's confusion, the announcers trying to explain it away and make excuses. Fuck it, this ruled.

Hogan/Sting from Starrcade 1997 always felt and still feels to me like the "most hyped match ever". We all know how it turned out, but to this day I can still watch those entrances and get chills. When Sting is entering and they do those little half dissolves with the music to Hogan's face.... chef's kiss.

Rammsteinmad 07-24-2025 05:14 PM

I don't think I've ever said a single good thing about Hogan, and yet, this is still sad news. Especially just days after Ozzy. Two, huge pop cultural icons who transcended their recognized fields, passing within days of each other. :(

Sepholio 07-24-2025 06:21 PM

That Hogan/HBK match is the one from Summerslam isnt it?

Sepholio 07-24-2025 06:27 PM

It sure is lmao Im dying

Sepholio 07-24-2025 06:51 PM

Hulk Hogan to be cremated because he still refuses to be buried.

Black Widow 07-24-2025 07:59 PM

RIP.

Goat.
Legend.
Icon.

In one of Jericho's books he said Hogan talked to him at Owen's funeral and asked him directly if he was leaving to go work for Vince. When Jericho said yes, Hogan said "take me with you".

That's always been a funny what-if to me. Hogan's red and yellow return that happened in the summer of '99 happening in WWF instead. My brain really can't even begin to compute the visual of that Hogan being dropped into the middle of the Attitude Era. Surely he would've looked hokey and ridiculous.

M-A-G 07-25-2025 08:44 AM

You mean even more than usual?

M-A-G 07-25-2025 08:48 AM

I wonder if Death no-sold the leg drop, popped up to his feet, Deathing up, then pointing his finger at Hogan before wagging it.

Does get me into EWR mode. If forced to try to book Hogan in that era the only plausible way I could see making it work would be Vince bringing Hogan in as his hand-picked corporate guy. Have him keep the 5 o'clock shadow from his Hollywood look but go back to a red and yellow color scheme and play it up by having Hogan be thoroughly confused as to why everyone now hates him.

But even after all of that, outside of the obvious "print money" Hogan/Austin match you're left with Hogan being awkwardly shoehorned into a ton of Attitude Era feuds and surely it would be terrible.

Sepholio 07-25-2025 10:20 AM

Someone said Hogans grave should be a gender neutral bathroom and I think that's just a beautiful idea.

I'm ready for my pee to run wild on it.

Reddit/Twitter jerking themselves off calling Stone Cold a wife beater since hogan died saying they both should be canceled.

Savio 07-26-2025 09:45 AM

I feel like if Hogan went to the WWE in 1998 it would do nothing but hurt the product. I dunno if WCW wins the war but WWF would be sandbagged

Found it funny in the Hogan remembrance package his last title win over HHH was not included and it was also edited to make it look like he beat Rock at WM18.

Stu Hart 07-28-2025 02:47 PM

so Jimmy Hart was the one leaking info to Bubba the Love Sponge
