Rate the Game: Week 43
We keep chugging along here on Rate the Game. Last week's Ninja Gaiden was pretty divisive but let's see where it falls on the leaderboard after we calculate the average.

Gran Turismo (2.3)</option> </select> Well, it stumbles a bit but it gets over the hump as far as scores go but it's in lower half sharing the number 29 spot with Killer Instinct with an overall score of 3.5. Ryu is in some good company with Jago. Sword slicing and adrenaline-fueled action aside, we need a new game to rate for this week. Drum roll please... <iframe src="https://giphy.com/embed/Qj914XY5VlpxPUGM4S" width="269" height="480" frameBorder="0" class="giphy-embed" allowFullScreen></iframe><p><a href="https://giphy.com/gifs/Qj914XY5VlpxPUGM4S">via GIPHY</a></p> .... <iframe src="https://giphy.com/embed/599ON226qS3fMfSghB" width="269" height="480" frameBorder="0" class="giphy-embed" allowFullScreen></iframe><p><a href="https://giphy.com/gifs/599ON226qS3fMfSghB">via GIPHY</a></p> .... <iframe src="https://giphy.com/embed/6IAyGrhCnO7wSX4qbV" width="269" height="480" frameBorder="0" class="giphy-embed" allowFullScreen></iframe><p><a href="https://giphy.com/gifs/6IAyGrhCnO7wSX4qbV">via GIPHY</a></p> ...TA-DA!!! So we go from one notoriously difficult platformer in Ninja Gaiden to another notoriously difficult platformer in Ghosts 'N Goblins from Capcom on the NES. Is it a classic? Is it every bit the rage-inducing bitch the legends say it is? Is it overrated? You tell us. Take the poll and share your thoughts on this title. Until next week! |
Eh. Take it or leave it TBH.
Recently been playing the SNES version and couldn't beat the 1st god damn level :D I dunno, it was neat, but I didn't find it as "ERMERGERD GERSTS ERN GERBLINS" |
I've been playing it on the Switch's online service. It functions fine, I suppose, but the biggest hurdle are the jumps because I'm so used to being able to keep control while in the air. I doubt I'd be having this hard of a time if the jumps worked the way they do in other platformers.

Played for 5 minutes and hated it.
|
it controls poorly and requires a full clear twice to get the ending. pretty terrible design choice. strong dislike
|
Never played. But Super Ghouls n' Ghosts on the Sega Genesis was my first taste of the series and I hated that.

Too hard to be enjoyable. At least Ghosts & Goblins had that incredible atmosphere to make it fun to keep doing the same thing over and over, but Ninja GAY-DEN does not.

LOL, seeing the results just now as I cast my vote makes me think we're heading towards a new last place.

This is actually a pretty boss rendition of the main theme. I also remember the trick of getting the song to play on Shade Man's stage in Mega Man 7.

Universe doing weird things...... the same day you made this post, I came across the new GnG game, which looks fun AF - but I'll need a demo to be sure.
