Armchair Warfare Discussion Thread (Don't worry, not an attempted revival)

I'm sure some of you remember the Armchair Warfare game. I thought it would be cool to have a thread where players/fans could come and ask questions to the bookers or judges without the disguise of the Armchair Booker account, or maybe some of the season 2 bookers could discuss where their shows were going. For instance...

DID YOU KNOW...

*In Hard Knocks Wrestling, the plan for the Lights Out stable with Elijah Burke and Shad Gaspard was to have a match at the PPV with R-Truth and Kofi Kingston. Kofi was set to turn heel during this match.

*Evan Bourne's budding romance with Christy Hemme was all going to be flushed down the toilet as Christy was set to help The Miz win at the PPV.

*I was THIS close to running an angle where Ric Flair passed away before his match with CM Punk, and I was thinking about replacing him in the match with Mick Foley. Punk would have gone on to completely disrespect Flair even in death, and even though Foley and Flair didn't get along, he was going to step up and defend one of the greatest to ever do it. This would have either been epic or completely awful. I guess we'll never know.

*Batista as a comedian was a brilliant idea. Trust me.

So yeah, here's the thread. Not sure how much interest there still is, but I thought I'd put it out there.

The Assassin Michael Tarver. The undisputed star of Armchair Warfare.

I also fully enjoyed DttS's reaction to his show being slated being equal to a reaction I would expect from somebody that's just watched somebody piss on his children's faces on Christmas morning.

Good shot, Lock Jaw.

I was actually pretty shocked when my first show got slammed, but I blew it out the box on the second show.

BizarroKing 06-30-2011 10:19 PM

Anyone wanna ask me something?

Anybody Thrilla 06-30-2011 10:31 PM

Yes. What the fuck were you thinking?

Kidding.

Flash Funk 06-30-2011 11:04 PM

I thought my booking of Chavo Guerrero and Hernandez was pure gold.

BizarroKing 06-30-2011 11:10 PM

I was hoping Undertaker/Daniels would have been a good feud. Did any of you like anything from BAW?

Lock Jaw 07-01-2011 12:25 AM

I liked how you traded me Darren Young so I could run my "Darren thinks he is Cena's long lost non-identical twin" gimmick.

Impeccable 07-01-2011 02:18 AM

Who booked "The Real" Jay Lethal? Loved that.

XL 07-01-2011 03:28 AM

That would have been me.

And really, that wasn't planned. Lethal was just a pawn to set up HHH as a heel but when he was "over" in the Star Power Rankings I decided to push him hard.

Funnily enough I was browsing the Social Group for Season 1 yesterday.

Very fond memories of the whole thing.

And of course, the ONLY question that needs to be asked (and sadly will never be answered)...

Who the hell was "The Boss"?

Clearly the same guy who drove the Hummer and raised the briefcase.

Lock Jaw 07-01-2011 12:22 PM

I remember wanting SOME females on my roster, but then somehow at the end of the draft my roster ended up like HALF female.

XL 07-01-2011 03:14 PM

I'd like to know which guys the other bookers were hoping to get but didn't and what they had hoped to do with them. Also, which guys did you end up with that you didn't have any plans for?

Lock Jaw 07-01-2011 03:32 PM

I think I was hoping to get Daniel Bryan, since he seems to be #2 on my draft list. Don't remember what I wanted to do with him. I think maybe he would have been in the feud with Cena/Alberto instead of AJ Styles.

parkmania 07-01-2011 04:05 PM

I desperately wanted John Morrison to feud him with a heel-turned R-Truth. Got Truth, but Morrison went 2 picks ahead of mine. I've always wanted to hear R-Truth say "Par-core? John, where I come from we call that runnin' from the cops."

I really wanted to do a 2nd/3rd-gen face stable, but I think I might have gone the way of nWo 2000 and focused too much of the show on it - I'd be curious to hear someone else's opinion on it.

Each match I wrote as basically a train of thought process. I knew what I wanted the outcome to be and just wrote to that.

I hope at least one person appreciated my digging up what I thought were some cool custom titantrons for my guys in IWC.

I'll see if I can find my plans for the PPV - I had to do a system restore and am not sure I backed up those files.

Just looked at my sent PMs, and here's my draft board:
Chris Jericho
Daniel Bryan
Kaval
John Cena

I feel like I got pretty much everybody I wanted. Stacked roster.

Impeccable 07-02-2011 06:46 AM

There should be a revival...I really wanted to do this :(

XL 07-03-2011 03:28 AM

Y'know, I've often considered doing VCW: Month 2.
