I started a new play of Morrowind.
 

And DAMN, is this game still awesome.
I don't understand how Skyrim got so much more praise than this game, besides the combat system, the game is superior in every way. Last played it when it first came out, so I have forgotten a lot of the things in this game and it's feeling pretty fresh. Incredible...

Was such a good game, and was the reason I bought the original XBox. That game basically converted me from team Playstation. Haven't bought a new Playstation since, just XBox systems.

Morrowind is very easily the best elder scrolls game. if it were turn based it would be the best rpg of all time for my money.


i love oblivion and skyrim but each game removed role playing aspects in so much that skyrim isnt much of a role play at all. my barbarian nord thats never cast a spell can be the arch mage? ok cool

Morrowwind is a great game, not gonna lie. But the reason why Skyrim gets more praise is that it fixes a lot of problems Morrowwind had. That, and it's just more recent. Both games deserve their places in Elder Scrolls history, it's just that being the more "modern" game, Skyrim will always be considered better by the fans.

Skyrim dumbed things down though and took away a lot of player agency. That's my biggest issue with the game. Of course, the setting in Morrowind is much better, it looks fantastical and interesting while Skyrim was boring and dull, atmosphere wise. It just made it look like any medieval fantasy game. I guess it makes sense because the location is different, but they could've still spiced it up. A snowy region doesn't need to look so drab.

In honor of this I may play Oblivion.

It is a pretty game but the story was boring and the adaptive difficulty was mad retarded.

Arena not even on that list? And you call yourself an Elder Scrolls fan.

The only Arena that's played at this house is Quake 3 Arena.
