WWE RAW Weekly Thread

Since raw isn't that popular and a lot of people quit watching and posting about it, instead of a weekly thread this is the new 'ongoing' thread for it (ala SD thread).

RP 11-30-2020 05:23 PM

just jacked off. Looks like a month of jacking off on Monday nights. Thanks for reminding me!

RP 11-30-2020 05:23 PM

What time does AEW come on guys?

slik 11-30-2020 05:59 PM

wednesday at 8ET/7CT on TNT

Emperor Smeat 11-30-2020 08:09 PM

WWE probably has something very shenanigan worthy in store for tonight's triple threat #1 contender's match considering they've never used the "sudden death" tag line for a #1 contender's nor triple threat match before.

Emperor Smeat 11-30-2020 08:24 PM

This Elias vs. Jeff Hardy feud might be the dumbest feud of the year in WWE. Elias knows who ran him over months ago and even teased its Sheamus but yet still doesn't care and somehow thinks its Jeff instead despite him not being a red head

This Symphony of Destruction match also quickly went down the tube in terms of quality.

Emperor Smeat 11-30-2020 08:40 PM

Yikes at the back of Jeff's head smacking the steps from that Swanton Bomb to the table on the outside. Why the hell was the table placed that close to the steps to begin with.

Match itself was average at best. For a feud ender, didn't seem like WWE cared that much since they had some dumb 24/7 title stuff going on at the same time early into the match.

Emperor Smeat 11-30-2020 08:58 PM

Retribution still in the very unsalvageble tier as a group.

Took like 3 distractions just for Slapjack to be able to beat Ricochet and one of those was done by Dana Brooke who was yelling at Ali at ringside.

Emperor Smeat 11-30-2020 09:10 PM

Based on that Miz TV segment, guess Sheamus really did randomly turn face when he gave Drew that sword a few weeks ago despite also still acting heelish towards the other peeps on Team RAW on the side.

The amount of recaps and videos on this show so far really feels like Vince and Creative half-assed tonight's script even more than usual.

Emperor Smeat 11-30-2020 09:26 PM

 at that ropes botch by Lana and Nia.

Lana pulled down the ropes way too early making her look really dumb since Nia wasn't anywhere close to being near the ropes and Nia wasn't even running towards her. Then Nia somehow decides to just run though the ropes anyways making her look equally as dumb.

slik 11-30-2020 09:31 PM

just saw that on twitter...not watching and it sounds like I haven't missed anything

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">WTF is Nia doing █♂️ <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/WWERaw?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#WWERaw</a> <a href="https://t.co/9da7RtuDPN">pic.twitter.com/9da7RtuDPN</a></p>&mdash; david lawton (@lawtondavid1) <a href="https://twitter.com/lawtondavid1/status/1333596773261193216?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">December 1, 2020</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Emperor Smeat 11-30-2020 09:41 PM

That was the only good thing about that women's tag match.

Your not missing much since this show is trending heavily towards worst of the year tier.

I've been playing games on my Switch while watching tonight's show almost right from the start since its been that dull and meaningless so far.

Emperor Smeat 11-30-2020 09:52 PM

Cedric Alexander vs. Xavier Woods was pretty good despite the abrupt ending. Match felt like it was about to hit that next gear or had a couple minutes of juice left before it suddenly ended.

Emperor Smeat 11-30-2020 10:19 PM

 at the production botch for the Phenomenal Forearm spot.

Either someone in the back was way too late to switch the cam shot or blew the surprise for the ending since Styles setting up for the move wasn't meant to be caught on camera.

Match itself was pretty good.

Emperor Smeat 11-30-2020 10:21 PM

 at this commercial for this week's Smackdown advertising that Corbin was screwed out of his match last week against Murphy.

Emperor Smeat 11-30-2020 10:27 PM

 at Mia Yim getting rid of her mask after doing just 2 moves in the match. Don't blame her since that mask always looked like it was a bit too loose on her face.

:| Dana beat Mia.

RP 11-30-2020 10:42 PM

Drew McIntyre has a great body. I wish that was my body. Might be my 2021 goal.

Emperor Smeat 11-30-2020 11:08 PM

 at Styles talking trash to Drew while getting carried away by that very tall bodyguard of his.

Main event tag match was pretty good despite that lame DQ ending and Miz being made to look even dumber than before with that cash-in attempt. If the idea was to get the case away from Otis because he didn't look believable or worthy then Miz has looked even worse based on his booking as its holder.

This week's show was barely watchable overall.

It was Sami Zayn that ran him over...

Are they still making the black guys wrestle each other every week? Are they just leaning into the joke now?

Watching the Hulu cut now and this is ridiculous. For a 3-hour show I kinda get it, but this is a 90-minute version.

screech 12-01-2020 09:20 AM

Man, I don't think I've enjoyed one Miz TV segment this year.

Ol Dirty Dastard 12-01-2020 09:22 AM

That's because Miz sucks.

screech 12-01-2020 09:30 AM

Why do they show a slow-motion replay of Riddle kicking off his flip flops? Dumb

I don't hate him or anything, I just think those segments have been awful.

Evil Vito 12-01-2020 09:37 AM

Miz had a similar situation to Jericho this year I think. Was meant to spend a big chunk of the year away from TV on other projects (Fozzy tours for Jericho, TV/ambassador work for Miz) and of course COVID shelved everything.

Evil Vito 12-01-2020 09:46 AM

Can't believe they unmasked Reckoning, the El Santo of the Raw Women's division.

screech 12-01-2020 09:49 AM

Retribution did not make the cut

screech 12-01-2020 09:59 AM

Triple Threat was v good

screech 12-01-2020 10:18 AM

lol has Morrison ever actually hit Starship Pain?

screech 12-01-2020 10:19 AM

lol AJ talking shit while being carried away

I haven't watched WWE since after Mania. I honestly miss it a bit but not the product that I've seen for the last 5 or so years. I mean lets all be honest its been getting worse and worse since the Invasion. But really the marker for the decline for me was all of the greats retiring. Which of course was bound to happen. I guess that truly aside from Roman they haven't created anyone that draws my interest. I do wish I could see a compilation of the Roman/Uso's story because that seemed to get a lot of praise and was probably pretty good but there is no way I'm going to go through all of the shows t took to get to the finish.

Evil Vito 12-01-2020 01:04 PM

I have fond memories of the time period right after the first brand split, but when I tried to do a Network rewatch I realized that man, Raw was still awful, it just seemed tolerable because I was in middle school at the time.

Heyman-era SmackDown still holds up though. Switched it to a SmackDown-only watchthrough and was better off for it.

Emperor Smeat 12-01-2020 05:27 PM

According to Fightful, the script for last night's show was only finished around 25 minutes before it started.

Part of the reason was due to Vince as usual and the other part was some stuff that was "beyond their control" like Bruan's injury since the main storyline for the road to TLC was supposed to be him vs. Drew for the WWE title.

Card and preview for tonight's RAW. Also the last one at the Amway Center before WWE heads off to Tropicana Field.

Not sure if that game show parody Firefly Fun House segment was either the dumbest or the best out of all of Bray's skits this year.

IC Champion 12-07-2020 08:22 PM

What’s the best thing about Raw these days?

IC Champion 12-07-2020 08:23 PM

Oh sweet, a 20 minutes ladies match.

I'd say Drew McIntyre and Asuka in general since both have been the biggest bright spots of an utterly bad and dull brand since the WWE coronavirus pandemic era started.

Storyline-wise, like nothing despite RAW having an extra hour to work each week with unlike NXT and Smackdown.
