That was fine by me. Creed seemed like a dick since childhood and he had some degree of influence on a traumatized James enough to make him his road dog. Pun intended.

dronepool 11-20-2012 01:21 PM

Anybody catch the ASM #698 leak?

BIG SPOILERS....

Warned you....

Here we go-

Kalyx triaD 11-20-2012 01:37 PM

Doc Oct's a dick.

XL 11-20-2012 05:35 PM

Someone fill me in with the rest of the story?

Schlomey 11-20-2012 07:28 PM

Well, spider man is a good guy.....

mitchables 11-26-2012 02:03 AM

Any of you guys read Matt Fraction's Casanova? It's really good.

... as opposed to being painted as the sick fuck he was from jump and tracking down James and Rose all those years later at the quarry.

And aside from all the nitpicky stuff it explained about James' mannerisms and speech habits, it explained and backed up one major point... HIS HEALING FACTOR AFFECTS HIS MIND AS WELL AS HIS BODY!

Didn't need some stupid Adamantium bullet shoehorned in for that shit.

Kinda worried that, if Dog is a separate character, they'll make him some hybrid of Sabertooth and the "other brother".

Kalyx triaD 11-26-2012 03:33 AM

That doesn't seem to oppose at all.

Kalyx triaD 11-27-2012 03:33 PM

Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen to return in Days of Future Past! Along with the First Class cast, and Hugh Jackman is likely.

This is going to be fucking huge.

The Destroyer 11-27-2012 03:41 PM

Awesome.

Marvel Studios' upcoming "S.H.I.E.L.D." television series has landed another star. TVLine is reporting that Brett Dalton (Killing Lincoln) has joined the cast as Agent Grant Ward.

Sounds cool.

Corporate CockSnogger 11-27-2012 09:15 PM

Saw that bit of SHIELD news earlier. Not heard of him before, looks a bit like tpww poster slik.

The Whedon fanboy in me is still hoping he casts one or two of his usual suspects.

mitchables 11-27-2012 10:01 PM

I give up trying to understand if First Class was a prequel or a reboot.

Kalyx triaD 11-28-2012 12:55 AM

Both.

Skippord 11-28-2012 01:30 AM

a Preboot if you will

Kalyx triaD 11-28-2012 01:52 AM

Like the recent Star Trek. Very smart, really.

Fignuts 11-28-2012 02:36 AM

lol it's not as smart as the star trek reboot. They actually gave a reason for the star trek reboot with the time traveling.

For Wolverine and First Class they just didn't give a shit about inconsistencies. Not that I'm really bothered by it, as said inconsistencies are minor.

Kalyx triaD 11-28-2012 02:41 AM

Not as smart but it's doing the job. Actually very similar to how Marvel handles their universe in the comics. No reboots per se but something in the middle.

Jesus.

Kinda cheap to be honest.

Except for Beast and Emma Frost.

Those two inconsistencies are huge as fuck.

That is god damn ridiculous cheap. Pretty sure Amazing Spider-man #1 alone, is worth more than 22,000.

What was wrong with beast?

As for emma, she was barely there in wolverine. Even though it was obviously intended to be her, did they ever actually say her name in the movie?

Fignuts 11-28-2012 03:09 AM

Yeah, just checked and low near mint copy of ASM #1 goes for 57,000.

If I had 22,000 dollars I'd buy that shit right now, and make an astronomical profit.

Her look and powers were Emma-ish but I don't mind forgetting about her. Sort of like how they never call Victor 'Sabretooth', which works in the established canon's favor.

Kalyx triaD 11-28-2012 03:17 AM

All the marketing made it clear, though, so mileage may vary.

Rammsteinmad 11-28-2012 03:41 AM

Wow that Ebay auction is fucking insane. I've never understood those earlier issues that come in those weird plastic covers. Are they actually genuine originals from the 60's, that are being "preserved" or something, or are they all fancy reprints made to look like the originals.

Personally, I'd have imagine that entire collection being worth more than $22,500, especially if they're all real, genuine, original prints.

Fignuts 11-28-2012 03:53 AM

The page says there aren't any near mints in the earlier issues, but even GD to VG fetches between 3-15,000.

And yeah, they are genuine, thus the protective covers.

Dude is a 15 year seller on ebay with a 100% flawless track record, so I doubt it's a scam.

Hank McCoy was on TV in his human form in X-Men 2.

Yeah, I know. BUT STILL. CONTINUITY.

mitchables 11-28-2012 05:23 AM

Emma, I will grant you, as she was apparently credited only as "Kayla's sister".

Well, if Days of Future Past does involve time travel (like the comic/cartoon), is it possible they'll fix some of the inconsistencies in a JJ/Trek manner?

There can be more than one person in the world who is named Hank McCoy. Obviously a different person.

That, or a wizard did it.

Kalyx triaD 11-28-2012 09:30 PM

Who will be Star-Lord in Guardians of the Galaxy?:

Quote:

According to the site, the current list of names auditioning for the part includes Joel Edgerton (Zero Dark Thirty), Garrett Hedlund (TRON: Legacy), Jack Huston ("Boardwalk Empire"), James Marsden (X-Men)[Ha!], Lee Pace (The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2), Eddie Redmayne (My Week with Marilyn), Jim Sturgess (Cloud Atlas) and Sullivan Stapleton (Animal Kingdom).

mitchables 11-29-2012 01:31 AM

Apparently the director of GoG is copping heat for posting some "Top xx lady superheroes you'd want to bang" list a while ago, which has since been deleted but not un-Google cached. One of the suggestions was to boycott the film, which is a bit of an overreaction if ever I've seen one. Sure, send the director hate mail or whatever, but really, to boycott an entire film and jeopardise the jobs of everyone involved is a bit much for a moment of lacking foresight.

mitchables 11-29-2012 01:34 AM

http://www.themarysue.com/james-gunnsuperhero-sex-post/

Maybe it wasn't just women but whatever, the female entrants in particular are catching attention of easily aggravated comic book fans.

mitchables 11-29-2012 01:34 AM

Not entirely undeservedly, I might add, since I don't wish to seem like I am in any way endorsing or agreeing with James Gunn's list here, but I can't help but feel like this is all a bit of a mountain out of a molehill.

Kalyx triaD 11-29-2012 01:45 AM

It seems the list was before he landed the job, too. If they drop him to avoid controversy, I hope the production wasn't far ahead. Seems a silly thing, though, something that is so common on forums everywhere demands boycott and shit now.

mitchables 11-29-2012 01:48 AM

Oh, yeah. It was well before he got this job. That said, I'm sure Disney would be thrilled being associated with a guy who wrote something like that Batwoman entry, whether it was now or before they ever crossed paths.

Kalyx triaD 11-29-2012 01:51 AM

Well now that it's taken down perhaps they can wait to sweep this under the rug. It's some time before the movie drops, and the internet has a notoriously short attention span.
