Let me rephrase: reasonably true to the source material.

Source material accurate doesn't mean every little thing has to be accurate. You can still have the ten rings of power, but have them be technology based instead of magic. That would be a small change as opposed to making Dr. Doom a conniving buisnessman, instead of a fearsome, oppressing dictator.

Or making Galactus a fucking cloud.

Fignuts 09-02-2009 06:29 PM

Tomorrow's forecast:

Partly Galactus with a p.m. thunderstorm.

Fignuts 09-02-2009 06:29 PM

lol

I slay me.

I'd rather get good movies than Ten Rings of Power or any literal translation of the comic books.

Triple Naitch 09-02-2009 09:47 PM

Lol, just remembered Bible Man was Willy Aemes.

Skippord 09-02-2009 09:50 PM

Scroll down to read an article about Marvel and Disney. Disney pretty much states that they will not touch much of the marvel characters.

Deadpool will probably leap out of a comic book and strangle whoever is trying to kiddifiy him.

Then go hang out with Ryan Reynolds.

In German, Handiman would be translated as 'Mobile Phone Man'.

Pixar is said to already be eyeballing an Ant-Man movie.
That... might be cool...

But you can't tell me Disney's not gonna jump on Power Pack.

LuigiD 09-14-2009 07:33 PM

Have any of you guys watched that Marvel Super Hero Squad show on Cartoon network aimed at kids? hahaha it is amusing..
I was taking a nap and I woke up to it and I thought it was some sort of sick dream. I just saw an episode were Thor and Storm battled Fing Fang Foom and some other dragon and they beat them by going to a grocery, creating a tornado of meat and feeding the dragons.

Fignuts 09-14-2009 10:32 PM

That's tremendous. Gonna have to check that out.

Lock Jaw 09-14-2009 11:31 PM

Sounds even campier than Batman: Brave and the Bold..... which means I have to watch it.

Kalyx triaD 09-15-2009 01:51 AM

I have heard that the show was decent. Didn't catch it yet.

Sure. the animation is nice.
But if you like superheroes that look like they haven't hit puberty yet..
the characters appear to be based on those little figures they sell for kids that are marvel themed.

Kalyx triaD 09-15-2009 02:26 AM

Yeah... that's the idea...

Rammsteinmad 09-15-2009 11:55 AM

Sweet! I wanna check this out!

X-Men Films is reporting that Tim Pocock, who played Scott Summers – better known as Cyclops – in X-Men Origins: Wolverine will reprise the role of the beam-shooting mutant in Josh Schwartz's vision of X-Men: First Class. The information comes from an apparent Twitter posting made by Pocock stating that he'll begin production of the film sometime after February of 2010.

Fignuts 09-18-2009 01:33 PM

Why the fuck don't they just make x-men 4 already. I want apocalypse, damn it.

Kalyx triaD 09-18-2009 04:47 PM

There will be no X-Men 4. They want the First Class reboot/prequel.

LuigiD 09-18-2009 05:08 PM

x-men first class would be epic fail in my opinion.
Well, it would do great at the box office, epic fail from my perspective.
I did like the comics but I can just picture them turning into something among the lines of Smallville.

Kalyx triaD 09-18-2009 05:20 PM

But it's a movie, not a TV show...

Funky Fly 09-18-2009 09:53 PM

I kinda see his point though. The early years and the First Class books don't really have anything to them that would translate into a movie all that well, other than the development of the relationships between the characters.

Amen.
Kaylx, Smallville has taken the Superman mythos and dumbed it down pretty much for high schoolers in my opinion. I am not saying that all who watch it fit under that category, but come on. Who the hell does Flash wearing a red jogging suit? Aquaman? even worse. Look at all those Youtube videos people make as a tribute to Clark and his random crushes. X-men first class..unless I am wrong..they would try to bring all types of teen romance to it. Picture the Iceman and Shadowcat deal from the X-Men trilogy times 10.
I don't know what to expect from the X-men franchise in the future but I can't say I am to excited. I am more interested to see what Marvel will do with the Avengers.

Fignuts 09-18-2009 11:45 PM

I don't particularly care for rebooting a series that doesn't need it.

I agree with that also..
I was kind of curious to see what they were going for in X-men last stand with the ending.

That was the initial idea. Superman with a Dawson's Creek spin.

And again, there's TV and then there's movies.

Kalyx triaD 09-19-2009 10:31 AM

Some updates on a lot of projects.

LuigiD 09-19-2009 07:22 PM

So many reboots..bah..does Blade really need a reboot? I don't think so. It just needs a good script. Fuck..with all the vampire characters in Blade they keep bringing in the stupidest villains.
So many 2011 releases too..pretty intense.
Anyhow, I have always wanted to see a Midnight Sons animated series in the vein of the Spawn series from HBO. It would perfectly fit the style of the characters imo.

Kalyx triaD 09-23-2009 04:04 AM

X-Men First Class does NOT go into production soon. Lil Cyke retracted his twitter statement. Hmm....

XL 09-23-2009 10:21 AM

Seems to me they are employing a logic along the lines of "Look how well they did when they rebooted Batman. Perhaps we should do the same!?".

Shame there's no real logic there. Like some have said, there are franchises that don't need a reboot (X-Men, Spider-Man, Blade) and others that won't be "saved" whatever you do to them. How well did the Hulk reboot do? They're already talking about a Superman reboot after, what, less than 5 years!?
