Awwwwwwww shiiiiiit KO

Shadow 07-12-2018 09:34 AM

There is one thing I know in this world it's Toku. Because I'm a weebo and when you scratch that itch, it just pops up.

Anime I'm a little fuzzier on.

Its a wonderful successor to DB that doesnt run off DBZ fans.

I didnt hate DBZ or anything but DB>DBS>DBGT>DBZ

Stories over battles for me is all. Liked DBZ a lot tho.

DB was just the best....might rewatch it....

I'm actually in the process of doing this. My girlfriend knows how much I love Dragonball, and wanted to give it a whirl. She accidently started with Super not realizing she had no idea about any of this stuff, So I started her on Dragonball. She loves watching it, The humor and story. We are to the point where Goku is fighting Miraki. She laughed so hard at the Powerpole to the butt part.

Destor 07-12-2018 11:43 AM

Wish more people took the time to watch DB. Its some of the best booking in wrestling or anime. They do a wonderful job building everyone up and executing mainevents that really deliver.

Finished the "first season" of Fate/Extra: Last Encore over on Netflix. Still don't know what the hell is going on.

My plan of catching up on some series' during my vacation backfired big time this week.

Helmsphere 07-15-2018 07:53 PM

Don't know how to embed this, but wanted to share this.

I told my girlfriend also how I almost cried during the second episode of MHA. She ended up watching it, and yeah, total waterworks.

Destor 07-15-2018 08:02 PM

How deep into MHA are you

I did not say it inspired Power Rangers.

I meant it came well before it did (by about 10 years) and tried to get it in before all the "oh, this is a PR ripoff" hit from people who may have been too young (like on the forum posts under said show on their site). I may have worded it clumsily trying to describe what it was like to the uninitiated, but I know better than that shit. Calm down.

Why does everything have to become some sort of an argument? I wasn't testing anyone's knowledge over sentai shows or shit talking. I just suggested a show I hadn't seen in forever. Either watch it, or don't.

Sadly I'm just finishing the first season. I have this bad habit of falling asleep watching it, and forgetting to turn it off, and then waking up, and it being in a different season.

I seen most of the first season (I'm where All Might shows up to face Nomu) and sadly woke up to see the Tournament type, but I need to go back.

Also think I've seen part of the All Might v. All For One Fight as well.

So Far, I am loving the show. I can't seem to actually indentify who is my favorite character because there are so many I like from the Students and Pros.

Eraser Head was super Badass taking on the Villians. Endeavor is a dick. All-Might is well All-Might.

As far as the Students I can relate to Ideka alot. I love the dynamic between him and Kaccan.

Destor 07-16-2018 04:40 PM

TURN AUTO PLAY OFF. I watch anime in bed too so i totally get it. Turn it off. Its the easiest way to watch in bed.

Destor 07-16-2018 04:41 PM

All Might is my fav character but Deku is close 2nd

Helmsphere 07-16-2018 05:14 PM

Do you use CrunchyRoll or the Funimation App?

Destor 07-16-2018 05:29 PM

Funimation

Destor 07-16-2018 05:29 PM

(i prefer dubs)

Helmsphere 07-16-2018 06:23 PM

I do too, thru most people do not.

So far I want to see more of Asui. There is a certain charm about her that I love. Tenya really gives me Great Saiyanman/Gohan Vibes

Destor 07-16-2018 06:45 PM

Ill reserve comments until you're caught up. but def log in on a web browser and turn auto play off. 4 reel z's

Helmsphere 07-16-2018 07:51 PM

Destor can you help me find the name of the song that plays during the team battles simulation, where they are showing all the teams, and All Might is evaluating them?

Destor 07-16-2018 08:20 PM

What ep?

Helmsphere 07-17-2018 11:32 AM

Episode 8. I believe it also appears in the villian raid as well.

Destor 07-17-2018 11:56 PM

No luck :-\

Question: is there a difference in interface?

Legit asking, as I use VRV channels for each. I mean like, for example, is switching dub/sub an on-the-fly option in its own app like it is on DVD, or is it something not worth doing unless you have separate subscriptions? I'm mainly curious to see if I'm leaving something on the table that's specialized by taking the all-in-one route instead of individual sign-ups.

Destor 07-18-2018 12:52 AM

The bulk of crunchyroll is only Japanese.

Funimation if both options exist you can switch with a press of a button.

Both have free versions that play ads. Check em out.

Tom Guycott 07-18-2018 01:33 AM

I might checkalook at Funimation later. I fux with CrunchyRoll, and I'm always amazed at how much of a come up they've made.

I remember when it was just some dump site for anime files. Then, they cleaned it up a bit and made it official. Then, with the building of an empire from the quick turnaround of Naruto subs ASAP after airing in Japan and maybe 3-4 other shows like Eyeshield 21 (I think Prince of Tennis was one of them, too). March on to now, where they're a definitive name in anime. It's kinda like watching your neighbor's kid grow up.

And I asked about the interface because as many options as there are on the VRV app, the layout could be better. Visiting it on the website is better than using a phone/FireTv/XBOX, and since my laptop took a flying dive long ago and I haven't gotten around to replacing it, I use those three options. If a show is dubbed and subbed even in the same place, it is essentially listed twice... and if you let it autoplay, it will run through both in succession as opposed to being one listing and a toggle.

However, given the fact that I don't have to deal with commercials (main reason why I quit Hulu - why pay for a service to STILL get commercials? What the hell am I paying for, then??), I have what looks like the full run of CrunchyRoll, Funimation, and Cartoon Hangover (did I mention that I love Bravest Warriors?!), and random shiz from the other channels, like VRV Select seemingly going all in on the entirety of the Stargate franchise, and, though sloppily implemented, what looks like that "Night Flight Premium" that has been popping up all over my facebook feed being eventually added as another channel, I don't exactly regret where my money is going...

I just think the interface could be less shitty. If I like one of the others better, I might see if it lets me "work backwards" to use it, or if I have to make up a secondary sub to access it.

At any rate, thanks, Destor. I will try them out individually.

Destor 07-18-2018 08:18 AM

Hulu has a commercial free package...just sayin

Helmsphere 07-19-2018 07:23 PM

Funimation premium is without commercials and is only five bucks a month and they have simucasts as well.. I actually stopped using crunchyroll altogether. Actually stopped in the middle of DB: Super because I could catch it on youtube sometimes quicker then I could on crunchyroll.

ClockShot 07-19-2018 07:33 PM

watchcartoononline.com is wonderful if anyone is looking for a free way to watch anime.

I'm pretty buzzed about it.

Helmsphere 07-19-2018 07:51 PM

Still don't know how I feel.

Mostly because I've been on the anti-broly fence forever.

I still hope to see the Universe 6 Saiyans in this thru.

Helmsphere 07-22-2018 04:35 PM

Finally finished My Hero Academia up until it's currently point, now sadly I have to wait to actually watch it week by week, meh.

Helmsphere 07-22-2018 05:09 PM

Still to this day, I can't believe there is a Hero named Best Jeanist.

Yet I give props to his skills when it comes to what you believe would be a useless Quirk.

Destor 07-22-2018 05:41 PM

What about that all for one fight

Too late.

Initially, it was "commercials = free" and "subscription = no commercials", then they tried to pull an okie-doak, and it became "subscription = still get commercials, but you can maybe watch a few more shows we have now if you want".

They stopped getting money from me after they pulled that shit.

Never looked back. If they made it back to being reasonable, it's too little, too late. The stuff I was using Hulu to see have pretty much become available elsewhere (like Fist of the North Star) or I don't miss it (like ... uh... some other show I was using it for and can't remember now).

Tom Guycott 07-22-2018 11:32 PM

As for the other thing: it ended up not being worth doing.

I couldn't "work backwards", both CrunchyRoll proper and Funimation require a separate signup/login. Because I never signed up for Funi, and long forgot my CR credentials (I think the last time I logged in is when they first put up Claymore), I needed to make a new login for them just to try out the interface. I already have access to what they have to offer through VRV, and, though I like them better than what I'm using, I don't like them *that much* better. Less clunky doesn't make up for extra work and app space (especially on my unrooted phone, where drive space is at a premium until I get a new one).

I'll stick with working through VRV. Gets the job done.

Destor 07-23-2018 12:05 AM

I dont have cable so hulu is a good option for me. I do the live tv package during football season and the commercial free during the off season. Don't havent watched anime on it though...poor/incomplete selection
