Starting Utopia right now
|
I'd forgotten how good Scrubs was back in the day; season 1 took five or six episodes to find itself but once it did the rest of the season was absolute gold.
They still show Scrubs on UK tv, but it is so heavily edited that the joy is taken out of the episodes. The bastards at Amazon have upped the price of the seasons from £4.99 to £17.99, so I'll only be watching the first two seasons until they (presumably) go down in price again around Xmas. |
You should spend money on Friends or Cheers next, they just don't get the airtime.
|
I hate Scrubs with a passion.
|

Cheers is on one of the Channel 4 channels in the morning; I occasionally watch the episodes. |
Re-runs three-runs there ain't no free-runs

When the monkey changed his TV to Spanish and he couldn't get it back to English...classic.
|
So utopia is not at all what I was expecting but it is pretty good anyways.
|
Really good finale to Lovecraft Country
One of my favorite shows of 2020 |
Feel behind a couple weeks on Lovecraft Country. Need to finish it up.
Utopia was also very good and I really hope they pick it up for season 2. They cant leave me hanging like that. |
Going back and watching my Home Improvement boxset with my girlfriend. An absolute gem from my childhood, and the missus is loving it too.
|
Finished Star Wars: Rebels Season 3
|

Chick humour. |
I'm watching a Russian show called To The Lake. Think it was called Outbreak originally though. Pretty good so far though.
Cute Russian chic shows her boobies too and that makes it even better if we're being honest. |
Completed Haunting of Bly Manor. Beautiful.
|
Holy fucking shit! That was Greg Sistero
|
The voice
|
Blood Of Zeus on Netflix.
Finished the first 3 eps and they are fantastic. Loaded with action and story and stunning animation. Highly recommend so far! |
So we’ve discovered this new show on Netflix (UK) called Modern Family. Already on Season 2 Episode 17. It’s great. You guys should check it out.
|
Finally finishing up the last season of True Blood with the girlfriend, then probably going to introduce her to Dexter afterwards.
|
Finished Star Wars: Rebels season 4... one of the finest Star Wars related things made. The story of these Rebels so much better than any in the movies....
|
Been watching "The Norm Show", pretty good so far.
I've also decided to give "Perfect Strangers" a go. Bronson Pinchot was big in the mid 80's to mid 90's, I wonder what happened to him?! |
We’ve started watching What We Do In The Shadows. It started as a Halloween thing but it has continued because this show is a riot. Love it.
|
I'm currently on the fourth season of Hell on Wheels, and I'm about two or three episodes into the final season of Penny Dreadful.
|

Probably the funniest show on TV |
Finally got around to watching the end of The Good Place. Really great, sweet ending. Gf was crying through most of it. Nicely done little gem, especially for a network TV show, for those of you who haven't seen it.
|
Anyone watching "Truth Seekers" the new Amazon show with Nick Frost?
There are some mighty big laughs in it. |
The young and the restless
|
Finished season 1 of The Boys. Was pretty good I guess.
Lol at sticking a CGI tower onto Roy Thomson Hall and pretending it is the Vought building though |
Baylee's Chronicle

This was great. I'm going to watch it again. It's a comedy/mystery/horror with some lovely camaraderie in it. The performances are solid, nobody stretches too far so it rolls along at an amiable pace and you can enjoy the jokes because they aren't coming at you too thick and fast. Reviews seem to be a little wishy washy but for my money it hit the right spot at the right time. |
Simon Pegg and Nick Frost created and wrote it apparently. Simon Pegg plays a supporting character but he's put to good use.
|
I am genuinely excited for this one.
|
Went back through WAYNE since it has been unceremoniously dumped onto Amazon Prime with little fanfare. It was another one of those "YouTube Original" shows, but since it wasn't Cobra Kai, the company had the bright idea of not really advertising it at all.
Shame, really, because it is worth a watch. I'd venture to say that if you like Shameless, you'd like this. |
Quote:
Hopefully you will find it as endearing as I do. It was very well put together, the director also did Stag that crazy British stag-do camping horror. |
Queens gambit
This was pretty good. I didn't really like the main character at first but she grew on me pretty quickly. Decent story and the cast is generally great. Different enough from anything else that it seems new. 7.5/10 |

The Undoing on HBOMax
Really good so far, two more eps to go. All the acting is really good and I haven't figured out the murder mystery yet.

Donald Sutherlands “cocksucker” monologue in The Undoing just went into my top 10 for all time greats. Just an absolutely unreal line. Dave (FX via Hulu)
good stuff. usually dont go for comedy |
The Expanse. Decent yet typical scifi. I like it though.
|
The Expanse is great. A new season starts next month.
|
Started watching the final season of Clone Wars. Really good so far.
|
Watching "Tales From The Crypt" episodes.
Never seen this before beyond clips or as a reference. First episode I chose is great in premise but there's a terribly racist charicature of a Jamaican stoner that would pretty much doom it nowadays. |
The episode ends on a pretty brilliant note.
They even fix the stereotype issue. Genius. Episode "Abra Cadaver" 4/4 |
Excited because the next episode has John Lovitz.
I just love that guy. |
Quote:

I did that every day of my childhood because my parents are superheroes.

Jon Lovitz wasn't there though

Watched the Lego Star Wars Holiday Special.... enjoyed it.... prob the best thing involving the sequel trilogy cast
|
I've finished the third and final season of Penny Dreadful. It was the weakest of the three seasons, and I'm not quite sure if it was a fitting end to the series as a whole; I felt rather underwhelmed by it.
I'm currently half-way through the fifth and final season of Hell on Wheels. |
What a ripoff..... found out a channel here is airing the new Animaniacs.... but we only get the channel in SD here.... trying to see if I can find it online somewhere instead....
|
Hulu? Its like $6 bucks. Shit - usually you can get a free trial. You can watch all of the new episodes and cancel during the free trial.
|
Hulu ain't available in Canada
I see Animaniacs is on Amazon Prime here via an additional subscription through it... but they only have 4 episodes up, guess they aren't releasing all at once.... will wait until they are all out and then get a free trial to that subscription.... |
i may have binged animaniacs
also i start fargo s4 |
I'm holding off on Fargo until it's all available.
I hear it's a weaker season but that could mean it's still great. Earlier seasons have all been phenomenal. |
Quote:
Welllll that's fucked. |
Finished the Queen's Gambit. Good stuff.
|
Quote:
|
so far its far weaker than the previous 3 but its still good stuff
|
Watched the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air Reunion.... made me v emotional a few times.....
|
Been eyeing that up myself.
Is the original Aunt Viv included? |
Eventually
|
Aunt Vivarium
|
Final season of clone wars was incredible. They should just make Star Wars TV shows from now on, because they've been some of the best content in the franchise.
They really put a lot into the budget too. At times you'd be forgiven for thinking it was a blockbuster theatrical film. More pumped than ever now to see Ahsoka in the Mandalorian. |
Haven't watched the final season yet.... finished up Rebels pretty much when Madalorian started... Then took a break to watch The Boys, and to also finish the book I was reading.... I'm still on season 2 of The Boys, haven't watched in awhile.... I should finish it before my free trial month ends actually.... which I don't actually know when that is so I should check.
|
Binge watched the last dance. Great stuff. Was a huge Jordan fan as a kid during his second run. It was cool getting to relive that but also hear the stories going on behind the scenes. It also just made me love Jordan more.
|
I finished the final season of Hell on Wheels. The first three seasons are the best, and then it kind of lost something in the final two, but remained watchable. Anson Mount and Colm Meaney were great throughout.
I think they did the character, The Swede, a disservice. He was such a great character in the early seasons, but the last couple of seasons and his end just weren't fitting for the man. I'm going to move on to the fifth (and final?) season of The Magicians, and the fifth season of Arrow. |
The Last Narc on Amazon was a really good doc that goes into detail about Kiki Camerena's death at the hands of the Mexican cartel and brings to light a conspiracy theory that the US knew about/was involved in his murder.
|
Watching The Vow on HBO.
Pretty fucked up. |

There’s a 30 Rock marathon on this weekend and I’ve been checking in every so often. Is this the rate the tv show thread? No? Ok.
30 Rock - 105% |
I don’t think I’d argue that 30 Rock is the greatest tv show ever, but I can’t think of anything that made me laugh as hard from episode 1 to the finale and lasted as long as it did.
Just an absolute joke machine. |
Watched like 1 episode of that show ever
|
30 Rock was a fantastic show.
|
30 Rock was a superior sitcom.
Highlights include Jason Sudeikis getting drunk on fish and Paul Reubens playing an inbred European prince. My favourite episode is Gavin Velour because they wrung an 80's performance out of modern Steve Martin which is a task once believed impossible. The joke writing g was extremely high level. Nearly up there with Arrested Development. |
Star Trek: The Next Generation
|
I also watched Haunting of Bly Manor and the lesbian romance ravished me
|
Quote:
Finale was good, whole series was good. As it tends to, HBO delivers another great show. |
Historia de un crimen: Colosio
Crime dramadetailing the assassination of former Mexico presidential candidate, Luis Donaldo Colosio, and the fallout, including Tijuana cops digging deeper believing it's a set up. I needed to scratch my Narcos itch, and while this isn't quite that level, it's produced and acted with the same efforts and style. So far so good. |

Also Dr. Leo Spaceman
|
Always wanted a "Who Dat Bitch?" poster.
|
Tonight Show. Holy shit, Keanu Reeves has cut his hair and facial hair down! Fuck you, Matrix!!!!!!!!!!!
|
omgawddddddd. probably just preparing for a cyberpunk delay again
|
Spoiler alert for the next Matrix. I'm guessing they filmed out of sequence and his being will be back as a robot plug in.
|
New season of BattleBots starts tonight on Discovery. LOVE this show. Been a watcher since the Comedy Central days
|
Can't wait for Cobra Kai III! Will come in January. I finished watching all episodes and all seasons of Eastbound and Down a few weeks ago. That show is one of the most underrated shows of all-time. Hence, my handle name on here. I've also been watching the last few seasons of Law and Order SVU on You Tube. The new Saved by the Bell series has also piqued my interest.
|
I really enjoyed the first season of You. I thought the second was started off well but kind of tailed in the end. I don't think the girlfriend becoming a psycho in the 2nd season was a really good fit and seemed kind of like a 'rushed' storyline.
I didn't think Messiah was too bad. I wouldn't say I loved it, but I did enjoy it a fair amount. I watched another series as well back in early 2020', but I can't remember now. Been watching some old clips of Perfect Strangers on You Tube from the 80's and forgot just how good that show really was. People talk about the greatness of Balki (which he was), but Mark Lynn Baker was also exceptional on the show. He played the neurotic big city boy down to a tee. In many ways, Larry Appleton was George Costanza before George Costanza was George Costanza. ;). Little known fact - Family Matters was technically a spin-off of Perfect Strangers. Harriete Winslow was first introduced in Perfect Strangers as being a part of Larry's Bowling team if I'm not mistaken. |

Tracy's movie posters and Frank's hats were always there for a solid background gag. I liked the sun-tea gag where it turned out to be jars of Frank's piss. His relationship with older cleaning women was a real highlight. |
Finally watched the last two episodes of The Boys S2... damn at that end

I got back into re-watching The Pretender. It was one of those few shows I'd watch with both of my parents. It always upset me that there was never a proper conclusion.
|
Lost
Your Honour The Flight Attendant (just finished. It was good but then a very weak season finale) This May Destroy You |
Quote:

I enjoyed that show a lot. Quite overwhelming towards the end.

The Magicians season 5 (also its final season)
Arrow season 5 The Mandalorian season 2 I might watch Raised by Wolves, next, but I haven't really decided yet. I need to wait until the whole of season 5 of The Expanse is available before I can watch that, though I may re-watch season 4. |
turned on the TV and HBO was showing a marathon of Curb Your Enthusiasm.... wasn't really intending to watch it, just put it on in the background.... but now several episodes later and I'm still watching it.....
