lol I have you on ignore, so I literally can't see your posts unless someone quotes you. I don't click "View Post" when I've got someone blocked. That defeats the purpose.
I'd ask how this is so hard is for you to understand, but it's clear that you have the intelligence and decorum of a 9-year-old. |
It's hilarious that you respond to me though, since you made a big show of blocking me. Just can't stop yourself from clicking that view button!

Also, way to piggyback on Fan's post instead of having your own original thought, like always  |

Vince McMahon had a desire to be a successful executive/entrepreneur in movies and entertainment and decides to risk his all of family's personal financial security and future with personally guaranteed loans and investors who could take everything they own, as well as being unable to actually pay what they owe to those who work for him, all on the idea of "sports entertainment", while also shitting on his father's quality reputation and past promises to a lot of other people in pro wrestling. Tony Khan had a desire to make a successful wrestling company and product and so decides to risk a proportionally small fraction of his family's wealth and with his family's ultimate blessing and supervision, but he has no wife or children subject to any financial or other risks. Who's the bigger moron and selfish, piece of shit? I think it's pretty obvious. |

You say dumb shit. People quote it to call you an idiot. I also make fun of you for being an idiot. That's all this is. It's just really easy and fun to make fun of your low IQ.
Weird that you think so highly of yourself to assume every post I make after yours is a response to you instead of to the general discussion. Ignorance really is bliss, I guess? (also I know you read every post I make - glad I'm such a force in your life :)) |

(I don't know what people say when they blindly praise rich people. Are shiny shoes on the list? Seems like they would be.) |
He's definitely successful. Smart? Well, he's failed at virtually every otheravenue he's tried to branch out to. Bodybuilding league? Fail. Football league? Fail. Movie studio? Fail. Football league again? Fail and bought out by one of the biggest stars he ever had. Idk if you can call the network a fail. It didn't hit the subscriber number they were shooting for, and he devalued his own pay per view programming.
|
I think from the majority of cable ratings we can see that everything is down. People don't watch cable tv in mass droves like they did in the 90's. A bunch of reasons, too many channels equals too many options, everyone gets a smaller piece of the pie. Netflix, Hulu etc... WWE has been a recognized brand for a very long time, while losing their audience greatly they still finish in the top of the rankings for Raw and Smackdown. Even though we disect and see that it's losing stream consistently year after year, within the realm of add rights it's still a great get for the huge networks who have more money to spend to keep up appreances than anyone would like. One day reality will catch up and ad rates will properly affect the ratings and the way they make sense today. But for now WWE is cashing in huge despite dwindling both in viewership and creatively. It's crazy to think that such an insignificant amount of their gross income actually comes from the fans now. Such an insignificant amount that if it were gone, nothing would matter at all.

Vince definitely thinks he's...got more reach than he does. He took a regional thing and made it a global empire. And that's great. His company is also what most people immediately think of when they hear "wrestling."
Doesn't mean he can branch out and take over the entertainment industry like he seems to think lol I'd consider the network a success, though. It may not have hit the numbers they wanted, but they did just sell it for a bunch of money. |
Almost 20 years ago, he made a decision to buy his competition and the business has suffered because of it. These days he's making what look to be decisions to better his brand for the future long after he's gone so when people look back he has these things in play.

But like you said, it sold for a boat load of cash. So it ended up being a win despite mostly being a loss during its run. |
Yeah, the Network is only considered a financial success because of that rich NBC deal WWE recently signed.
Without it, WWE would still be a few years away from just breaking even and mostly due to how long it took them just to reach a break even monthly level in subs and never growing it anywhere close to what they'd thought it would be by now. Even in terms of just sub numbers, WWE Network pales in comparison to most services on their level and not just those that launched before or around the same time as the Network. |

It has gotten a little better as time has gone on Since then, but it still isn't anywhere near as good as it was on the old MLB platform. NBC's Peacock however is very solid, rarely any bugs or streaming quality issues. I've not watched any live TV through it, but even if it 20% worse than their on demand shows, it will still be an upgrade over the turd performance WWE Network puts out today. |
Hey, xrod. Is our conversation in this thread complete? Just waiting for confirmation that I’m not being an unreasonable cultist and instead actually made an undeniable point regarding... the way you are...

Solid take bro! |
Xrod dodges facts.
We have confirmed this beyond a shadow of a doubt on this page. You’re welcome TPWW. |

Vince is a selfish piece of shit, but having kids and risking his own money in hopes of making even more money somehow meaning he is selfish seems a reach to me, my opinion. In my opinion, I think it is far more selfish for a 40 year old to waste a bunch of his father's money so he can be friends with wrestlers. |
I was not referencing Cripz at all. Only my own conversation with you. The one that began on this very page. Care to try again?

That being said, the point is still valid. An opinion is not a fact. |

Good post. Xrod concedes.
I like him now. I will be openly challenging any of his detractors to a real fight from here on out because he has shown some integrity. Restrictions apply. |

Xrod? more like X-Hot-Rod!

One of the restrictions though, I must demand, is that you admit I’m not a cultist.
We had a fair discussion and came to a reasonable agreement. |
I can't wait for the next #1-wwf-fan real fight.

Can I also not be a cultist? I wish the Good Brothers would call out Tony Kahn as the NERD he is.
