Seanny One Ball 06-04-2020 07:19 PM

That second episode was excellent.
Absolutely tremendous escalation and pay off.

Seanny One Ball 06-04-2020 09:02 PM

Episode 3 is sort of Scandinavian Black Mirror lite, but it wasn't good.
Episode 4 is almost offensively bad after a promising premise and first half. There was a nice kind of Usual Suspects style reveal that went nowhere and served only to undermine the effort. These things are being undone by their execution.

Slik if you get a chance to see episode 2 give that one a go. I know you like a good horror.

Seanny One Ball 06-04-2020 09:08 PM

Stunningly beautiful woman in episode 5, committed to watching what is surely some horribly upsetting ghost story now.

Why do I do this to myself...

Seanny One Ball 06-04-2020 09:28 PM

Rubbish, but jeez-o was that woman a feast for the eyes.

Stiillllllll love the shit outta this. Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are one the greatest on-screen pair ever.

Seanny One Ball 06-05-2020 10:19 AM

I'm going to assume you're talking about "Burke & Hare", have confused it with "The Brothers Grimm" because both are pretty crummy despite sharing no similarities and for good measure you've mistaken Andy Serkis for Nick Frost.

Is that what happened here?

Seanny One Ball 06-05-2020 10:22 AM

BTW "Grimm" was a TV series based on folklore and fairytales compiled by the Grimm brothers.
It was class.

Seanny One Ball 06-05-2020 10:58 AM

Episode 6 of Bloodride is pretty great.
I think most episodes do well to maintain a crawling creepiness that they seem to lose with mostly unsatisfactory endings. A lot of bluffs in this show, too many.
This last one, along with the second, is head and tails above the others.

Seanny One Ball 06-05-2020 11:00 AM

Holy fucking shit...

That was wild.

I've finished season 3 of Westworld; I enjoyed it, though it was weird having the story told in a pretty much linear fashion when the other seasons played around with the timeline. Seasons 2 and 3 are still not as engaging as the first season.

I'm currently in the middle of season 3 of Fear the Walking Dead, and season 3 of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. I'm going to start season 5 of Outlander, and then when that is done watch the first season of The Leftovers, which I bought a while ago but for whatever reason have not watched.

On Westworld, it definitely feels different after the big "reveal" of the 1st season. Season 2 was alright, very different, but it kinda worked I guess. I was kinda stoked for Season 3, but haven't bought it yet. Thinking of streaming or downloading it, but just haven't bothered.

Figured the "real world" would break the show's "original feeling" moreso than the 2nd. Hopefully, that isn't the case.

OssMan 06-08-2020 07:46 PM

Didnt know they would put out a new season if 13 Reasons Why so fast... i usually forget about them as soon as i finish them anyway... this one is insane, it's basically Lost if it was a horror flick. They took out the resistance feminist tho

is it worth watching after s1?

OssMan 06-09-2020 12:39 AM

It's pretty different, I like stuff thats set in schools though. I think s2 was about like a angry white kid school shooter type, s3 was about covering up a murder, and s4 is some people trying to expose the cover up. They try to tackle real issues that kids go through, some of it's commendable and some of it kinda misses the mark and can be pretty cringe. S4 is fucking insane though

XL 06-09-2020 07:24 AM

Yeah, we’re part way through S4 of 13 Reasons. Mental.

OssMan 06-10-2020 12:36 AM

- Couple things that arent too spoilery but will still tag

SPOILER: show
- Zach is my favorite character now after disliking him in the previous three seasons
- I thought Tony was in a higher grade? He always seemed older. I couldn't handle his hair in season 1 but he looks good now. Also he has been living with his partner for a while who is an older guy?? And why is their apartment part of a gym
- There is a scene with riot cops and it's... pretty timely, but not exactly realistic

What we do in the shadows

So good. If you liked the movie, get on this shit.

If you didn't like the movie, you're probably just an awful person.

Seanny One Ball 06-12-2020 11:39 AM

I binged the second series yesterday.
I think it was even better than season one, Colin Robinson is so incredible.

Seanny One Ball 06-12-2020 11:40 AM

Matt Berry has made a career out of pronouncing things in a tremendously OTT thespian style.

Watching the latest Harley Quinn... "lol" at this recap by JB Smoove's character at the beginning

Seanny One Ball 06-14-2020 06:16 PM

Harley Quinn surprised me with how decent it was.
Raunchy

El Vaquero de Infierno 06-14-2020 06:18 PM

I'm coming to the end of season 3 of Fear the Walking Dead and season 5 of Outlander, and I've watched the first episode of season 4 Agents of Shield.

Once I've finished the seasons I'm currently on for FWD and Outlander, I'm going to watch The Mandalorian, The Witcher, and season 4 of Veronica Mars; all on that website Seanny has introduced me to. Glorious.

It is so damn good..... every week I am left wanting more....

Lock Jaw 06-14-2020 06:50 PM

It finally "sold me" on "new look" Harley Quinn too (new look almost 10 years old I guess, so not so new)

Seanny One Ball 06-14-2020 08:31 PM

Watching "Silicon Valley" for the first time, never had access to it before.
Two episodes in and I love it.

Jared is tits.

Destor 06-14-2020 09:03 PM

Good show. Similar vein im watching Succession on hbo. Very good.

Seanny One Ball 06-14-2020 09:38 PM

Episode 5 is classic.
The scene with the Telehuman/IM/phonecall all failing was just cracking stuff.

Seanny One Ball 06-14-2020 09:40 PM

So much greatness in this show.
I love it all.

Destor 06-14-2020 09:50 PM

Its very Al Bundy. Nothing ever works out

Seanny One Ball 06-14-2020 09:53 PM

Laugh count is at that perfect level to give me time to recover between gags.

Best show I've started since Rick and Morty.

Seanny One Ball 06-14-2020 10:41 PM

Depressed to find out the guy who played Peter died 5 episodes into this.
That's a damned shame.

Seanny One Ball 06-15-2020 11:57 AM

No way does this show end well for anyone.
Such a great ominous vibe underneath the hilarity.

I have fallen in love with it.

Not a note wrong so far.

Seanny One Ball 06-15-2020 01:44 PM

Silicon Valley is so fucking funny it's not even fair.
Nothing I have ever said or done is as funny as this.

It might be up there with Arrested Development as one of the smartest comedies ever written.
Pure undiluted genius.

Seanny One Ball 06-15-2020 02:26 PM

Yeah this is up and down the best thing I have seen in a long time. Not one thing has even slightly bugged me about it.

True comedy.

Seanny One Ball 06-15-2020 03:13 PM

I'm exhausted with laughter, but it makes me.

It's like torture binging this show. The torture of joy.
