Is Roman Reigns wrestling with his shirt on for 8 years the biggest mistake in wrestling history?
 

I’ve prepared a 12,000 word essay that I believe definitively proves the answer is yes. However before posting it I will post this picture that I believe also removes any doubt.

I mean look. at. THAT. Who in their right mind would look at that and think hey we need to hide that under a dorky padded vest?!

I believe (and can prove) that all the negative things that have happened to WWE in the past 8 years, including the creation of AEW, would not have happened if Roman Reigns took his shirt off in the ring.

Word. Not to downplay the seriousness of Leukemia but but...damn. He could have probably broke open his vest Hogan style and sent all the cancer cells out into outer space.

It never made sense to keep him covered up post SHIELD. Especially because he's had the tattoos for a while now.

Yeah he for sure busted his ass to get ripped again. He was noticeably smaller in Hobbs and Shaw, which he filmed I believe right before he came back in 2019 from his Leukemia treatment.

If I remember correctly, the reason Reigns stuck with the vest look post-Shield was due to him having a flabby upper body and Vince not being fond of his shirtless look for a top guy.

Wasn't till he took a break from WWE to fight his leukemia that he started to get ripped again like during his FCW days. Not sure if he started to lose that chiseled look sometime after he returned but he did spend a lot of his time away the second time working out to get into ripped shape for his SummerSlam return.

I remember one photo he took with the rock where he didn't look ripped but the camera can play funny tricks. In fact, it's from the shoot that xrod posted where he actually looks jacked.

I've long thought they should have scaled way back on live events. WWE House shows are great, once or twice just to experience it, but after that why wouldn't you just wait for a Raw or PPV if you want to see it live?

going to a tv taping is fucking stupid. most tv eps are anticlimatic builds to something better. ppvs are obviously top tier but house shows are easily 2nd place. the matches you see are the guys working out what the ppv matches are going to look like. if you like rasslin house shows are great.

There was a Val Venus and Chris Jericho match that ended up having the same finish a few weeks later on TV a King of The Ring Tournament matchup and basically Hurricane v Jamie Noble played out the same except They changed the ending to Noble winning at the PPV.
