I quite enjoyed Birds of Prey aside from calling that character Cassandra Cain for no good reason.

I thought it was fun. Margot Robbie was tremendous.

Here's a good question:

With which films were the sequel (or sequels) better than the original?

Sixx 03-30-2021 09:53 AM

Terminator 2.

Destor 03-30-2021 10:17 AM

i think T1 is better. T2 is unquestionably more loved so i know thats a "hot take" but T2 is a summer action flick. T1 is a really good piece of scifi. imaginative. the "horror" aspect (using that loosely) is much more compelling. Arnold hunting. them being on the run. the terror when he shows up. it all has more weight. its a more intense film where as the stakes feel very low in T2 since at its core the film is just an excuse for explosions and the audience knows it.

Fignuts 03-30-2021 10:24 AM

I feel the same about Alien over the generally more popular Aliens.

El Vaquero de Infierno 03-30-2021 10:26 AM

Godfather 2

He had a cooler jacket in T2. Killed all your arguments right there.

WELL PLAYED

Big Vic 03-30-2021 10:50 AM

Indiana Jones: Last Crusade was my fav of the original 3

Destor 03-30-2021 11:16 AM

i prefer raiders but crusade > doom

El Vaquero de Infierno 03-30-2021 11:40 AM

There is never any love for Temple of Doom, though granted it is the darkest of the films.

Fignuts 03-30-2021 12:14 PM

Captain America Winter Soldier

GD 03-30-2021 01:58 PM

That was a really action movie. Loved it.

Seanny One Ball 03-30-2021 03:59 PM

"Thor: Ragnarok" which proved that a sequel can actually vastly improve upon and make up for its predecessors.

GD 03-30-2021 04:58 PM

Love me some Taika Waikiki

McLegend 03-30-2021 09:39 PM

The Dark Knight

Big Vic 04-01-2021 08:17 AM

Spiderman 2

Seanny One Ball 04-01-2021 05:14 PM

Spiderman 2 was a really great cinema trip for me.
TDK was also amazing in the cinema.

Hmmm, don't think I have seen any other superhero films in the cinema...
Genuinely wracking my brain now...
Pretty good streak going if true.

Damian Rey 2.0 04-01-2021 09:16 PM

The Winter Soldier is definitely the best Captain America film IMO. Also, Infinity War and End Game are better than Age of Ultron.

The Dark Knight was excellent.

Godzilla v Kong was better than King of the Monsters

Lock Jaw 04-02-2021 02:28 AM

Non-Red-Band Trailer pretty good too:

Adam Wingard director of "Godzilla Vs Kong" is going to direct a sequel to "Face/Off".
What in the world...

Shit baddie though and it was too damned cheesy.

I was going to post almost this exact same thing, but yes....I pretty much agree with this sentiment. Suicide Squad 1, Batman vs. Superman, and even Avengers just didn’t do it for me. Dark Knight trilogies and X-men are the only things that I really got behind and even with X-men, it was pretty much only First Class, Days of Future Past, Wolverine origins, Apocalypse (kind of), Logan, and the original X-men I and II. The one where Wolverine acted with the gooks wasn’t too bad either. This will sound odd but I think watching Logan and Professor X die in Logan took too much out of me as far as superhero movies go. I haven’t enjoyed a superhero movie since Logan, although the new Batman that will come out will likely change that.

Casual light-hearted jokes about child murders

Damian Rey 2.0 06-23-2021 01:31 PM

That looks really fun

Zeeboe 07-01-2021 01:03 PM

It looks like shit. It’s a sequel and pretty much all sequels are made because the first movie made money, but the sequels are always trash. “Harley Quinn” is outdated. She’s 2016. She should have stayed there.

Damian Rey 2.0 07-28-2021 10:14 PM

Reviews are out and so far the reception is super positive

RP 07-28-2021 11:09 PM

Every review i've read is incredible.

slik 07-28-2021 11:44 PM

98% on Rotten Tomatoes so far out of 62 reviews

Damian Rey 2.0 07-28-2021 11:51 PM

Amazing turnaround after how disastrous the last one was reviewed

T2 is a much, much better film than Terminator is. Terminator is a slick, stripped down horror style sci fi film, a lot like Alien with less in the way of fantastic dialogue and plot development. It is a great film but it is a high concept derivative. T2 is both a tremendously original film in terms of style and innovation, as well as being more broadly enjoyable. There is a far higher production value with an aesthetic and sound that have influenced pop culture ever since.

Seanny One Ball 08-02-2021 01:07 PM

Terminator evolving to T2 is like when Rap went from Sugarhill Gang to NWA

drave 08-02-2021 01:42 PM

Man, I remember when it hit the Blockbuster shelves. I remember being sick as hell and my mom inviting like 10 people over to watch it in the apartment we lived in. Also remember it feeling like "forever" because it was a long movie, but also the weird time distortion that happens when being sick.

Damn good movie.

M-A-G 08-02-2021 01:43 PM

drave giving me them flashbacks to video rental places dedicating an entire wall to a new release.
