Ubbe?

Not really mate. I can't see that resemblance at all.

I stopped watching after season four though so maybe he looks different now.

Sixx 01-19-2018 07:59 AM

I totes see it. And that bearded guy that went with Floki and supports him looks like Edge.

Hahaha, this is precious. I now see the credits and it says Adam Copeland. So yay for Edge!

XL 01-20-2018 05:17 PM

Lol. I thought you were facetious.

Ruien 01-21-2018 03:35 PM

Started watching Stranger Things. Seems really good. Almost done weith episode 2. Usually hate shows where the kids are the main actors so I put this show off forever.

Lock Jaw 01-21-2018 03:54 PM

The kids actually do a real good job in that show

Juan 02-14-2018 02:52 AM

Been binge watching Crashing on HBO. Never really cared for Pete Holmes until I started watching this, plus all the great guest appearances don’t hurt

Sixx 02-14-2018 03:00 AM

Hm, you mean the Pete Holmes from all those Badman skits?

Juan 02-14-2018 03:25 AM

Yeah, never seen those tho

Sixx 02-14-2018 03:26 AM

Give them a go, they're pretty funny.

Juan 02-14-2018 03:37 AM

I think I will

Fignuts 02-14-2018 05:45 AM

Finally watched Rick and Morty season 3. Fucking great.

El Vaquero de Infierno 02-14-2018 12:40 PM

I've been watching the first season of Colony, on Netflix; I'm enjoying it quite a lot. Netflix needs to get season 2, and also season 2 of The Last Kingdom.

Seanny One Ball 05-24-2019 04:38 PM

Binge watching Boardwalk Empire right now.

I had seen season 1 which was excellent but I picked up the box set recently and dived in. Season 2 was a slog. Far too much focus on the families of the interesting characters and an entirely different vibe. I have no interest in children, maternity or the plight of kept women in the 1920's. I am interested in guns, booze and what happens when they go together.

Season 3 has been an improvement but I doubt it will get back to the heights of the first season. It's all about Richard Harrow and Eli for me now, also I would enjoy much more Julianne Nicholson and Michael Shannon. Julianne Nicholson is so far and away the most interesting female character that it's just stupid for her to be anything other than a main character.
She is fantastic.

Lock Jaw 05-24-2019 04:54 PM

Season 3 was great I thought.... loved Gyp Rosetti.....

Never watched the last two seasons of the show for whatever reason.....

Seanny One Ball 05-24-2019 05:00 PM

I have spent a little bit of time looking up masks for disfigured soldiers in WW1. Richard Harrow is one of those rare and brilliant characters that can keep me watching a disappointing show.

The only interesting family storyline is the psycho kid. I have to see if/when he will finally do something truly awful.

Seanny One Ball 05-24-2019 05:29 PM

Minor season 3 spoiler.
SPOILER: show
Michael Shannon just fucked a guy up with an iron.

Finally.

I've been waiting all season for it.

Seanny One Ball 05-24-2019 05:34 PM

Michael Shannon's Norwegian wife is pretty brilliant too, I forgot about her.

Not loving Gretchen Mol at all in this. She was great in season 1, now way too involved.

El Vaquero de Infierno 05-24-2019 05:56 PM

Rewatching season 7 of Game of Thrones before starting the final season. I've kept away from the spoilers, other than hearing that the season is a bag of dogshit, but I'm just hoping that is whiney fanboys having a go.

El Vaquero de Infierno 05-24-2019 05:59 PM

I've had season 1 of Boardwalk Empire and Penny Dreadful in my Amazon video library for over a year, but for whatever reason have not watched either.

I'm done with SoA, and once I've finished GoT, I'll need something new to watch, so I may watch them then, though there are several seasons of American Horror Story that I have not yet seen.

Seanny One Ball 05-24-2019 06:33 PM

The final season of Got isn't dog shit. It's just really badly structured due to pointless time constraints so the character progression simply isn't handled appropriately at all. It's not good though. I mean episode 3 is perfect but I can't see how anyone who follows the series could be happy with the rest of the final season.

Build, reward, build, reward, build, reward - that is the structure of the first 6 seasons. The last two were more "build, destroy".

Seanny One Ball 05-24-2019 06:50 PM

Gyp Rossetti it good. Constantly thinking "Oh God..." whenever he hears something that could be taken slightly the wrong way.

Seanny One Ball 05-24-2019 07:28 PM

The scene with Michael Shannon and Stephen Graham (George Mueller and Al Capone) at the table is one of my favourite scenes in anything ever. It's so tense yet so funny it could be in The Sopranos.
This show isn't on that level but some of the plot threads owe it a lot. It doesn't hurt that the cast is a who's who of shamefully under rated supporting actors who all belong in lead roles.

Well, maybe not Kelly Mcdonald.

Seanny One Ball 05-25-2019 05:04 PM

Season 3 was much stronger in the second half. A return to form. Season 4 starts brilliantly, the racist voyeur thing is spectacularly unnerving.
I hope Richard Harrow has a good run this season, Eli too. Chalky White is also a well played, well written character with more depth. I did not love Nucky becoming a gun toting badass at the end of last season. He is not a gun toting badass.

Seanny One Ball 05-25-2019 05:12 PM

I think Stephen Graham's portrayal of Al Capone is the best I have seen. There are a lot of great characters in this that could easily have been the focus of the show.

I hate to say it but I would have preferred almost any of the main male cast rather than Nucky as the central character.

Seanny One Ball 05-25-2019 05:22 PM

The addition of Katherine Waterston is quite literally always a good idea. She's incredible in everything.

Seanny One Ball 05-26-2019 06:59 AM

The Mueller and the Capone's plot thread produces gold every scene. I would watch a whole show just about them.

Bobholly138 06-29-2019 01:59 AM

Boardwalk Empire is my favorite HBO drama. It is so much better than crap like Oz,GoT and whatever other HBO drama zoomers praise.

Currently there is no weekly shows I am watching. Mostly cause it is summer. Was trying to watch CLoak and Dagger season 2. But after 2 episodes I realized it wasn't holding my attention so I gave up.

El Vaquero de Infierno 06-29-2019 06:25 AM

Rewatching seasons 1-4 of Vikings, before starting season 5.

RP 06-29-2019 10:33 AM

I started watching The Leftovers again and I'm pretty sure its my favorite tv show of all time now.

Oz was probably a better show than Boardwalk Empire overall. Oz started the HBO boom really, The Sopranos owes it a lot.

You and your hyperbole

Seanny One Ball 06-29-2019 11:55 AM

Should look out for The Leftovers though, you're not the first poster to point it out. I don't think I've ever even looked to see what it's about.

I need a new binge.

Funny enough im rewatching too. Watching ep 206 as i type this

Destor 06-29-2019 09:26 PM

As a rewatch its even better.

Seanny One Ball 06-29-2019 10:26 PM

Nobody ever says what it's about

Lock Jaw 06-29-2019 11:29 PM

I watched the first episode once. A large number of the population disappears, and then there are "Leftovers" who deal with that.

Seanny One Ball 06-29-2019 11:31 PM

Are there not several recent shows that fit this description?

Lock Jaw 06-29-2019 11:33 PM

I think so... But I think in some of those shows they disappear and then come back..... dunno if they come back in "The Leftovers".....

Yeah, where's the ratings in that?

Seanny One Ball 06-30-2019 12:56 AM

I have been served great, meaty slices of shut the fuck up pie before...

El Vaquero de Infierno 06-30-2019 06:06 AM

Oh, I watched the whole of the first season of Jack Ryan on Prime; I enjoyed it quite a lot and look forward to the second series.

Usually i dont get into something like Jack Ryan but for what ever reason the show really worked for me. I will def watch a second season.

SPOILER: show
the way they tied in the two arcs, home and work, i thought was really clever and made the stakes of the climax very satisfying.

XL 06-30-2019 01:39 PM

Just started Killing Eve S2, still watching iZombie, looking forward to Elementary returning.

El Vaquero de Infierno 06-30-2019 02:26 PM

I originally enjoyed iZombie when it first appeared; the writing reminded me of Veronica Mars and Buffy, plus the main chick is cute as fuck. But by third season, I was kind of tired of it.

Lock Jaw 06-30-2019 02:34 PM

Yeah, I stopped iZombie sometime last season.... even with Aly Michalka being a hot braud.....

XL 06-30-2019 04:16 PM

I absolutely agree. My wife still loves it though.

Seanny One Ball 07-01-2019 08:18 PM

Binge watching Rick And Morty. Good show. Some of the gags are genius. Show grabbed me with the first episode when a bully goes nuts at Morty out of the blue due to poverty insecurity then says "I'm going to kill you because my parents are rich!" then Rick freezes him mid lunge.

So weird, so great.

Destor 07-01-2019 11:19 PM

That show "gets me." The nihilism is very relatable.

slik 07-02-2019 03:01 AM

Currently Big Little Lies, which is superb A+ drama with incredible acting.

And

Euphoria, which is one of the best depictions of addiction I have seen. It's trippy, uncomfortable, funny and unlike any other show on tv right now.

OssMan 07-02-2019 08:28 AM

I watched stranger things season 1. I liked it. Then you know what i did? Ignored season 2 and 3. Don't need to exist. In my mind that show is 1 season long and that's all it needs

Destor 07-02-2019 10:40 AM

I dont currently plan on watching s3 for that very reason. it was one story, and its been told. Im good.

Lock Jaw 07-02-2019 10:44 AM

I will watch it because I'm a sucker. Season 1 could have been the end for sure, though. Same for Westworld, which I never watched more than the first episode of the second season.

Seanny One Ball 07-02-2019 02:00 PM

Westworld is good though. I watched Stranger Things because of a bunch of jag offs said it was great but all I left with was the knowledge that Eleven looks exactly like Sam Huntington in Jungle 2 Jungle.

That is the one pop culture throwback that Stranger Things didn't account for because it thought it was being 80's.

Terrible.

Destor 07-02-2019 02:10 PM

West World S2 was ok. I'll watch a s3. Im much less hyped about it though than I was after s1.

Seanny One Ball 07-02-2019 02:23 PM

Season 2 was excellent, just not the tour de force of planning and execution that S1 was. I can only name one truly bad episode and that was the Samurai bullshit.
The side story about William and his family, particularly the father in law is one of the most head-fuckingly brilliant pieces of TV I have ever seen.
I really did enjoy season 2, I had the benefit of hearing a lot of hype and disappointment before I went out of my way to watch it though.

James Marsden was given the short shrift which annoyed me a bit but at least there were lots of logistical aspects to think about and figure out. It's good when a show manages to maintain the rules and stay a step ahead of an alert audience.

Destor 07-02-2019 02:33 PM

Nothing was bad in s2, i just done care about the direction of the arcs. AI fighting for equality IRL is less interesting than wild west show about increasingly sentient robots. I dont mind where theyre going per se I just think where they are should have been...season 5...or so. Too much too soon.

ClockShot 07-02-2019 03:57 PM

Not much of anything to be honest.

A few episodes behind on The Son over on AMC.

Really sitting back waiting for The Terror: Infamy.

OssMan 07-02-2019 06:02 PM

Did ne1 watch Prison Break? I was all about it for 2 seasons, then got suckered into 3, and I think 4 was the last season which was fucking 30 episodes long and had nothing to do about anything. I quit halfway through. Forgot what loose ends they were even trying to tie up. Just seeing now that they made a new season 2 years ago, what's with that

Seanny One Ball 07-02-2019 06:48 PM

The episode of Rick and Morty where Rick becomes a pickle and has to find his way home is pretty freakin' great.

Bad News Gertner 07-07-2019 11:30 AM

CBC Gem has Nirvanna the Band the Show season 1 up. Funniest show I've seen in years. CBC Gem is free so definitely check it out.

RP 07-07-2019 01:15 PM

Dark on Netflix. I plowed through both seasons last week. It's amazing. One of the best shows on out right now.

El Vaquero de Infierno 07-07-2019 01:50 PM

I'm coming to the end of season 4 of Vikings, and then I am ready to start season 5, which I haven't seen. I may take a break before starting that season, though, as I'm getting a bit vikinged-out (not a word, but deal with it).

Haven't started season 2 yet, but really looking forward to it

El Vaquero de Infierno 07-11-2019 02:31 PM

I've begun the fifth season of Vikings, and Jonathan Rhys Meyers as a bishop is some ridiculous casting

Seanny One Ball 07-11-2019 02:43 PM

No point without Ragnar

Seanny One Ball 07-11-2019 02:44 PM

I am such a huge fan of the first four seasons and there was just no need to carry it on after the legend had been told.

Blood Eagle!

Fignuts 07-19-2019 02:50 AM

Channel Zero

Candle Cove was solid. Enjoyed it well enough.

No End House is fucking bonkers though. Loved that shit.

slik 07-19-2019 02:51 AM

I loved No End House and Butcher's Block, re: Channel Zero

slik 07-19-2019 02:52 AM

Currently watching:

Big Little Lies

Euphoria

Can not recommend Euphoria enough btw. Bonkers show (in a good way).

Fignuts 07-19-2019 03:54 AM

I started watching Butcher's Block. Pretty creepy so far.

Channel Zero seems like American Horror Story, except ya know, good.

Fignuts 07-19-2019 03:58 AM

Oh cool, Rutger Hauer.

El Vaquero de Infierno 07-19-2019 12:27 PM

I'm currently watching the second season of Goliath, on Prime.

The first season was pretty good; Billy Bob Thornton and William Hurt were beasts, plus Tania Raymonde was ridiculously bangable.

I'm 3 episodes in and I'm not currently feeling it with the new season.

Fignuts 07-20-2019 02:43 AM

Butcher's block was really good too. Felt like there was a lot of inspiration from Phantasm. And not only because of the murderous cloaked dwarfs.

slik 07-20-2019 01:24 PM

I haven't seen the 4th season yet of Channel Zero, I need to watch that sometime.

Destor 07-20-2019 04:24 PM

The duece s2

El Vaquero de Infierno 07-24-2019 04:22 PM

Rewatching Justified, after a somewhat disappointing season 2 of Goliath.

I haven't seen the final season of Justified, but the show is the goods, so starting from the beginning.

Seanny One Ball 07-24-2019 04:34 PM

Justified is quite possibly my all time favourite show. It's just excellent from start to finish.
Dewey Crowe is one of the all time great comic relief characters ever and Walton Goggins and Timothy Olyphant were made to work with each other.
There honestly isn't a better rounded cast in TV, every season is a joy.

Patton Oswalt is only in Justified a couple of times but his appearances are fucking great too. The Bennett family are so good. It was already in the glass....

I'm currently watching F Is For Family. It's pretty good, oddly very touching in moments between bursts of very broad smut but yeah, a solid show.

El Vaquero de Infierno 07-24-2019 04:48 PM

Season 2 of Justified was great, particularly the performances of Margo Martindale and Jeremy Davies.

Speaking of Timothy Olyphant, I still need to watch the new Deadwood film; it has been quite some time since I watched the series, so I should probably do that before getting the film. A wrap up for the series has only taken 13 years or so to appear, but hey.

Seanny One Ball 07-24-2019 05:02 PM

I haven't seen it either, Deadwood was so good though. I think Timothy Olyphant plays law men better than just about anybody. The proof is out there.

Seanny One Ball 07-24-2019 05:03 PM

I wonder if there was a record for saying "cock sucker" in films and if Deadwood broke that record with the recent film. That would be good.

El Vaquero de Infierno 07-24-2019 05:09 PM

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/8rGU2xwSsFs" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Seanny One Ball 07-24-2019 06:41 PM

F Is For Family has a scene where a fourteen year old boy bangs a grown woman. Fairly graphic.

I don't see any need for that. Maybe I'm being daft but that does seem gross to me and has spoiled the "crass but heartwarming" vibe.

Seanny One Ball 07-24-2019 06:50 PM

Now that I think about it, it's a cartoon and it's not exactly pro-14 year old banging given the way it's fit into the story so I am being daft.
Glad my reactions are usually disappointment rather than moral outrage, otherwise the Ike/teacher affair in SouthPark should have gotten to me too, which it absolutely didn't...

Bobholly138 07-24-2019 11:16 PM

F is for Family is great. Just wish they could get a season out each year.

Currently in the middle of a re-watch of Orange is the New Black.Final season hits on Friday.

Need to finish up season 1 of Doom Patrol. Fucking great show so far. Just got a second season.

Lock Jaw 07-24-2019 11:42 PM

Doom Patrol is pretty great.... though for some reason I have not watched the last 3 episodes of the season.... maybe because I am not ready to be finished it....

El Vaquero de Infierno 07-26-2019 12:00 PM

I'm coming to the end of the second part of Vikings Season 5; the whole Floki going to Iceland (which should have trees in that period, but has a distinct lack of them in the show) has bored the hell out of me; they should have killed him off in Season 4.

Seanny One Ball 07-26-2019 12:43 PM

Vikings is the show that Game Of Thrones could have been if they had budgeted their violence properly.

El Vaquero de Infierno 07-28-2019 04:51 PM

Natalie Zea. Damn, girl.

XL 07-28-2019 04:58 PM

So now on Stranger Things, iZombie, Elementary, Suits.

El Vaquero de Infierno 08-14-2019 03:27 PM

I'm coming to the end of the first season of The Magicians.

After a slow start, I'm getting into it now, though that might just be because there are a number of hotties in the show.

Destor 08-14-2019 06:50 PM

Glow s3

XL 08-15-2019 04:19 PM

Finished iZombie, think that was the last season.
Finished Stranger Things S3.

Just Elementary, and Suits at the moment. Need to start GLOW S3 too.

Splaya 08-15-2019 04:59 PM

I went back to watch an episode from Season 1 of One Tree Hill about a month ago.

I just started season 5 today

Seanny One Ball 09-05-2019 11:21 AM

This was my first adult HBO show, I remember staying up late to see it around 2000 or so.

I went back and rewatched the first four seasons awhile ago myself. the first season is really the best. it lost something when it went from being about basketball to being just another teen drama.

I loved seeing the rivalry between Lucas and Nathan too.

Seth82 09-05-2019 02:02 PM

I'm watching the series Seinfeld in order. am up to season 6 so far.

I found the complete series for like 40 dollars at a thrift store awhile back.

still one of the funniest sitcoms ever written.

Destor 09-05-2019 04:03 PM

Oz was a trail blazer. Very forgotten these days. Holds up

Seinfeld also totally holds up
