It only gets better.
And yeah it takes from a lot of different things but does them so well that it manages to reinvent the wheel while doing nothing new. Mind blowing game.
That's what I'm talking about though. The Bloody Baron story is pretty small potatoes in the grand scheme of things, but it's a fantastic story. Not many games (Mass Effect is another that comes to mind) male their side missions or expansions much more than fetch quests. Even great games like Spider-Man and Horizon fall into that trap on a number of occasions. Witcher 3 never seemed to.
And like Ultra Mantis said, he got it on sale. GOTY edition with all the expansions is always on sale for like $20. I don't think there's a better investment in your gaming you can make even though it's a few years old now.
Bought Soul Calibur. Between that and Red Dead, I'll be cave trolling it up this weekend.
Final Fantasy 8.

1 right now,i just got the Brothers GF and on to Caraway's Mansion.
The Tomb of the Unknown King is a great Level Grinding Spot.
Level grinding in FF8 is a bad idea.
Red Dead Redemption 2.
And, I totally forgot I had Hitman 2 on preorder. That's gonna collect some dust too. |

iirc ultemecia's difficulty depends on how much you handicap yourself in the final dungeon
Yeah, if you are grinding you're only handicapping yourself, since your stats come from junction and not levelling. It makes monsters stronger, but not your characters.
I think there are junction skills you can learn that give you bonus stats upon levelling, but you definitely don't have them that early so it's counter productive to level without them. You're just lowering your growth cap.
I remember the first time I tried to beat Ultemecia, I was in really good shape and then when she started blowing away magic, it was blowing away all of my big magics that kept like HP and Strength up. Wasn't too thrilled with that.
Ultimecia is my favorite ff villain. Something about her that's super cool to me.
Also IMO, the most fun final dungeon and boss fight in the series. |
FF8 is the 2nd most underrated FF. Half of everyone seems to hate it. I dont get it. I love that game.
Has everything to do with following ff7. Because that game is so beloved, anything that doesn't quite measure up in the next game creates a lot more negativity than it deserves.
I played ff7 for the first time on the ps3. Played ff8 immeaditly after. Wasnt that impressed with ff7. Fine game but not GOAT level. Id replay it again but its very overrated.
Important to remember the context of when it came out. Today, or even during the PS3 era, it doesn't seem like anything that incredible, but at the time, it was a game changer. FF8 in comparison had far less impact .
The Rise and Fall of Final Fantasy article pretty much nailed it when it said "FF7 is overhyped, but it's not overrated." |
Fignuts. There are a lot of articles out there that have the same title towards what you said. Can you get me a direct link to it
Also FF8 is criminally underrated. I loved FF7 because that was the first final fantasy game I played. But as time has gone on, I’ve played both games and beaten them again. FF8 has an ending that some didn’t like but damn. So many different forms of Ultemecia and Griever at themed to such a climatic final battle. Even the final battle music was great. Birth of a God is still one of my favorite songs of all time.

Probably the best, and most honest retrospective of the series ever, imo. |
FF7 didnt do anything that hadnt been done by ff6 already. It just had good marketing and a lot of people played it.
Ooooh. That person reviews Chrono Cross and Chrono Trigger. Excited to read
Playing through System Shock 2, i'd forgotten how much this was above everything else from that time peroid. The supposed remake of the first game is taking too long to get here D:
Feel like every decision I make in Witcher 3 is a bad one but at the same time I feel like there is probably no good decision and everything is shades of Gray. Just gonna continue banging and killing and hope I don't meet any more trees.
Def keep banging. BANG EVERYTHING. Bang trees. NO LIMITS
Witcher 3 might be up there for Games of all Time. Can't really fully judge as I have only just finished the main story.
Tops would be: Super Mario World, Super Mario Bros 3, Super Mario Brothers, Ducktales, Knights of the Old Republic, Fallout 3, Skyrim, GTA 3, Oblivion, New Vegas, Fallout 4, San Andreas, Vice City. |

Also Gwent and Triple Triad are both fantastic mini games, to tie these threads together.
Right? Gwent feels like someone was playing Pazaak and thought "lets give this steroids"
Only complaint I have so far is that the game is not letting Geralt bang enough. Two girls in a row have had questlines finish with no bang. Corrine and Rosa def set up like there would be a bang. Rosa and her twin primed for a double bang maybe. Not even a small bang. Let Geralt bang.
Just entered the "Winter" portion of The Last of Us. Interested to see how the story wraps up. Still have to finish Horizon Zero Dawn (I'm like 2 hours in ). All this needs to be wrapped up before Kingdom Hearts 3 drops 1/29/19 and takes up all my time before I beat it.
Firstly Last of Us is a truly exceptional experience that I wish I could relieve for the first time
Secondly You do not need to finish Horizon. If you've played 2 hours you've seen enough. move on. thirdly KH3 HYPEEEEEEEEe |

It's like when Square Enix promised me a FF7 remake that would be just like the original when they showed the video 5 years ago at E3 for it. I was all excited and then since then it's been nothing. |
I need KH3 so friggin bad. Im trying to plan my games so that im ready to go into KH3 as close to launch day as possible.
Last of Us is sooo good.
