It's a fine shooter I guess, I'm just sick of playing shooters so when little things like that start to add up is when a decent game becomes average to bad. This one is somewhere in the average to bad scale. |
Finished Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City on XBOX. It's like Left 4 Dead in a 3rd person view...
And also I finished the kick-ass Max Payne 3 on PC. I felt sad of what happened to Fabiana. :( She's like the Brazilian Paris Hilton... I love the Matrix slow mo when shooting.. Why can't there be more games with this kind of stuff to avoid dying? |
Beat the main story of Kingdoms of Amalur and four of the house quests.
|
Been playing Dragons Dogma heavily, i don't understand why there isn't a bigger thread, the game is fucking beast, I'm like level 80 at the moment, and if anyone plays it, take my pawn >:o
|
RE4 for the 50th time, Heavy Rain(again), and MLB the show 12.
|
Diablo III, Venetica and Silent Hill HD collection on PS3, although "playing" is stretching it...more like "occasionally turning on" being that I have next to no time for games lately...
|
Diablo III and Prototype 2
|
Finished the 1st Max Payne on PC. Explosive ending.. Man, that CEO bitch Nicole was a pain in the ass, always running away.. That's what villains do these days.
Now on to the 2nd one where it left off. I'm stuck in the level of the NYPD HQ where I need to meet Mona. |
Started Resident Evil Zero today. On a RE fix lately. So far its pretty awesome...

Still playing Diablo 3, and now I'm trying to finish Sacred 2 again. Fuck me Sacred 2 is a HUGE game if you try to play it thoroughly. You can actually walk further than they do in the Lord of the Rings movies, and I did not think that was possible in any context.
|
Well currently my first agenda is to open up another can on Roxers bitch ass
|
other than mlb the show, new ghost recon, borderlands

I might be incredibly bias here, since Spider Man is my all time favorite hero and because it's been forever since the last open world web-slinging Spider Man game, but the Amazing Spider Game may be my favorite game of the year so far.

Games beaten in 2012:
Sonic 2 (XBLA version) Call of Duty Black Ops Portal (Xbox 360 Orange Box version) Rainbow Six Vegas 2 Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword Wayne Gretzky's 3D Hockey Arcade style hockey game from Midway but with a lot more cheating CPU than normal in a Midway game. Almost ended up ruining the game but managed to win the Cup. Probably going to just play some random games in the collection until The Last Story comes out 2 weeks from now. |
Finished Max Payne 2 Hard Boiled level. Now I can play the hardest level where
SPOILER: show |
Because of some chief motivation in the form of ass kickings, I have return full time to SFxT. Akuma has joined my ranks, for the first time in 8 years.
|
Just finished Dragon Age as a mage. Was a lot more difficult than I expected considering the fact that I was playing on casual.
Really liked it though. The controls felt super-weird, but duh. I am going to play 2 soon. |
Should've been spec'd Arcane Warrior, easy mode for mages in that game.
|
Lately I have been playing:
Guitar Hero 3: Legends of Rock (PS2) WWE '12 (XBOX 360) Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection (XBOX 360) Harvest Moon: Animal Parade (Wii) Wii Sports (Wii) |
Resident Evil Zero (Gamecube)
|
Lego Batman 2
Max Payne 3 |
Gone back to Fallout New Vegas. Wonder if I can stick with it this time.

Beat Brutal Legend, and I enjoyed it.
It has a likeable cast of characters, excellent art direction, a compelling narrative, the gameplay is intuitive and fun, and the voice acting is tops across the board. I was off-put by the mix of hack-and-slash with RTS at first, but it became second nature pretty quickly thanks to the control scheme. If I had to find a major fault with Brutal Legend, it would be that it's rather easy. The final boss in particular is a cakewalk, and there really isn't a penalty for dying...also, for a game that was driven so much by character interaction and an grand mythic story, the ending was a bit too brief and felt hollow to me. In addition, you're given a pretty large world to explore, but there isn't much to do in it. You have your main quests, and side quests, but the side quests vary between 3-4 different types which all play largely the same. Outside of that you can go on the standard scavenger hunt for various relics and monuments, but the rewards provided for finding them aren't worth the trouble and time used for searching them out. That aside, I really did enjoy the game. The combat is fun, the story engaging, I totally loved the artistic direction (particularly in the Black Metal region) and I found myself laughing on many occasions because the game can be genuinely funny at times. If you haven't played it, I recommend giving it a try, as it can be had very cheaply (got my copy from newegg.com for $5) especially if you're a metal head, or if you just want a light, fun game to play without having to worry about it whipping your ass without mercy. |
Mass Effect 3... This is totally right up there alongside Halo only better!
|
Lego Batman 2, dunno not as good as the 1st i dont think.
|
That's very disappointing to hear. I was looking forward to that.
|
Its still worth getting, you get to play as the Justice League etc., just seems a bit funny now that they speak. Think Hasney said it in another thread but its lost a little of its charm because of it.
|
I'm still in if I can bust things up with the Green Lantern.
Is the character creator deal in again? Kind of sucks in the first one that you had to beat the thing twice before you unlocked everything. I wanted to play as Azreal, but didn't see the point after beating the whole game twice already.:( |
You get an achievement for defeating Sinestro with Lantern/Zod with Superman. Yeah think so,its in the Batcave, not sure if you have to complete the story first to unlock it though. You're actually running around Gotham between levels, all the non story specific characters are there for you to unlock like the Pirates game, you need Superman to open up parts of the city/flash/lantern to build things.

Batman Begins (Gamecube) this is one of the few games based on a movie that is pretty entertaing (despite being rather limited)

I may be alittle behind, but I just started playing through Skyrim. I'm playing as a Nord battlemage named Scott Roberts.

I got back into Old Republic. God, what fun game. I also picked up Final Fantasy 10 and I'm hooked on that. Except for Blitzball. Concept is great, but needs to be executed diferently. I suck at math.

Combat isn't great. The AI teammates aren't spectacular. The camera is bad. I beat the first chapter and now I'm sending it out. Waste of time. Working on: Borderlands, The Walking Dead, Dear Esther, Terraria, Magicka, Trine 2, Soul Calibur V, Metal Gear Solid Collection, maybe Portal 2 co-op (forgot I haven't touched it for 360) |

Also working on Minecraft achievements. Got two left there. |
There is a chance I'll bump Trine 2 up to a 9 if I'm blown away by the multiplayer. Excellent game.

I've gone back to owning and now, once again playing, The Elder Scrolls IV: OBLIVION Game of the Year Edition. Can't believe it's been like 5 years since it came out. Best main story of the entire series to date, IMHO, but who knows? If they ever do TES VI, maybe it will actually be compelling instead of MEH like TES V was (in the sense of the storyline, not the overall experience).

They're fine games but there are finer games out there. Magicka is pretty great but I'm not so hot with m+k and the controller config is a bit weird. Jamestown is good too but I don't like how the campaign is laid out. Lack of online co-op too. Great soundtrack though. Might try to dive into some of these HIB games that I've never gotten around to. Sonic 2 (XBLA version) Call of Duty Black Ops Portal (Xbox 360 Orange Box version) Rainbow Six Vegas 2 Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword Wayne Gretzky's 3D Hockey WCW/NWO Revenge Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow Felt a lot shorter overall than the only other handheld Castlevania I ever played (Harmony of Dissonance) but not as confusing to get around besides 2 spots. The souls system works out great but the use of magic seals to end boss fights became frustrating once the seals got more complex. Probably going to get around to beating Portal 2 and replay Majora's Mask as my main games for now. Currently on a hiatus with Metroid Prime 3. |

Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword Journey Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne Was so hard, took me forever, got the shittiest ending, nothing happened. Have to spent 20 more hours beating the optional dungeon I guess |
I ended up with the "Human" ending because all three reasons are batshit insane. The endings all suck except True Demon. Fuck that optional dungeon though. Damage floors everwhere, random boss level enemies every five steps, random warps, hardest three bosses in the game. You can't even win against the last boss unless you specifically clone a party with a specific skill from a monster that costs an insane ammount of macca. I pretty much gave up on that as soon as I beat Dante.

Red Dead Redemption, been developing a fan theory for it.

Also I somehow fused the Fiend Trumpeter towards the end of the game, and the last skill that he learned was a move that instantly killed the enemy with the lowest HP percentage, even if they were at 100%. It was so helpful in that fucking final dungeon. |
I think I'm gonna try to finish the labyrinth because of that one move, and I also got a Chakra Elixir which seems to be a never ending MP rejuvenator, so why not

The Last Story
|
Future criteria for playing "current gen" RPG that most modern games do which makes me hate them:
- Battle systems that require more than 30 seconds of tutorials - Massive towns that you get thrust into and have all different types of stores - Complex equipment upgrading systems I can't deal with these. I just started playing The Last Story and it's guilty of all three. The only games I ever settle down with are ones that pretty much need no explanation. |

But this barely feels like a FF game so far... |
It never feels like a Final Fantasy game and if you don't care for the story / characters then you probably won't like it at all. I didn't think it was horrible but it's not even comparable to anything from FF6-10.
|
hehe, good thing I waited until it was 19.99 to buy it then.
|
Haven't played anything since the first 10 mins of FFX-2
|
Since this seems to be the general discussion thread, Is a playthrough of Fallout 3 needed before New Vegas to understand the story.
|
Nah, it's a completely seperate story. There's a few minor references to the previous games in various sidequests but thats about it.
|
Thought as much, Thanks.
