Except Samantha. See my earlier comment. She's been a bullshit catalyst since the car accident. She's like Winnie Cooper, but Winnie had the decency to only fuck over one boy's life, not the lives of half her school and two grown men, one of which is her dad.

You're putting too much on Sam. Robbie caused just as many problems for Daniel and Johnny.

Sam hasn't done anything particularly negligent.

Got too more eps to finish. Didn't read the thread after my last post...probably spoilers

Seanny One Ball 05-07-2019 10:31 AM

Just ordered the original movies.

Cobra Kai awakened something inside me which long lay dormant. Probably going to lose my mind until season 3 comes out.

Too good. The show is too damned good.

Ol Dirty Dastard 05-07-2019 11:47 AM

lol I watched Karate Kid II.

My main issue with the movie which is an OKAY watch, is that you go from the first movie which is just great in a lot of ways, and you follow it up with what would be a made-for-tv effort if not for the success of the first movie. You still have the awesomeness of Morita and Macchio...as well as the awesome scene with Miyagi pwning Kreese, but I feel like going to Japan really neutered the energy of the franchise.

In saying that, the under-delivery of these sequels is legendary in itself and plays into the overall lore of Cobra Kai. Like how Daniel brought up being embarrassed by his stint AS a Cobra Kai. I didn't notice it, but read a review where it pointed out that it's a nod to the quality of the movie being embarrassing.

Also, the joy of those movies isn't in them being Oscar contenders. It's literally just the awesomeness of karate fighting that makes them fun. Still, the drop in quality after the original is still frustrating. Particularly given the likeability and talent of Macchio and Mortia.

Seanny One Ball 05-07-2019 01:18 PM

Karate Kid Part 3 freakin rules and is the first one I ever saw. I told a girl I knew karate after that, then I feebly kicked a wall at shin height and she got bored and walked off.

Terry Silver is in Karate Kid 3, he's the grease that Kreese needs.

Imagine if they get Hilary Swank involved. She could be the role model Sam truly listens to.

So many ideas...

Blonde Moment 05-07-2019 07:57 PM

I hope this continues for as long as there are interesting stories to tell

rez 05-08-2019 06:04 PM

Also makes you want to watch the American version of 3 Ninjas, 3 Ninjas kick back. aww yis

I really enjoyed Cobra Kai II. The fight scene in the last episode was epic. Stingray is surprisingly one of my favorite characters on the show, with Johnny and Miguel being my two favorites. The only character that I don't like that much and haven't really connected with is Rob Keane. I suspect that a lot of other fans feel the same way. Given the way Cobra Kai II ended, I think Robbie will be the biggest heel on the show now.

Seanny One Ball 10-26-2019 10:11 AM

I watched the original trilogy again last night. I think I might do a break down of why The Karate Kid 3 is both the best and worst franchise film ever made.

If one of those "Let's Play" people hasn't done Karate Kid 3 yet they are idiots. It's pure quote bait and almost none of the plot makes sense.
Cartoonish evil galore, it is as outlandish as Rocky 5 but with no fight budget.

It's amazing.

Seanny One Ball 10-26-2019 10:12 AM

Terry Silver has to show up in season 3. He's pure evil. Kreese isn't even as evil as he is.

Seanny One Ball 10-26-2019 09:21 PM

I may resubscribe to YouTube just to rewatch all of Cobra Kai.

I just want people to know.

Seanny One Ball 10-26-2019 09:44 PM

My perfect season 3 would be Johnny and Daniel teaming up to fight Martin Kove who brings in Terry Silver.
Meanwhile Elizabeth Shue turns up and wrecks hearts all over again.

I still feel like Robyn Lively is a forgotten love interest. She was hot back when I was a kid.

Seanny One Ball 10-26-2019 09:45 PM

I forgot about Mike Barnes. If they get Barnes back I would erupt into joy as I watched it.

Seanny One Ball 11-21-2019 09:33 PM

SEASON 2 Free on YouTube right now.

Seanny One Ball 11-21-2019 09:35 PM

rez 11-22-2019 02:30 PM

Yes, us superfans know but what about all these dweebs that might creep this thread?

Seanny One Ball 11-22-2019 08:12 PM

They wouldn't even know who Ali was

Ol Dirty Dastard 11-22-2019 10:11 PM

that final battle was so savage. Still feel bad for Robbie

They wouldn't even get the TMNT Secret of the Ooze reference to Karate Kid.

My in laws got me the DVD set of seasons 1 and 2 of Cobra Kai for XMas. It even came with a Karate KId headband that is reversable to the Cobra Kai logo.

Now I watched both seasons when they aired on Youtube. ANd the show is great.

It is odd while I grew up in the 80s,turned 6 in 1980,I was never a huge Karate Kid fan. I think part of it was we didn't get cable until 1990,and if I wanted to rent a movie I had already seen my parents would make me pay for the rental.

SO unlike most people my age I didn't see Karate Kid 100 times when TBS or whatever was airing it all the time. Hell I think I have seen the first film maybe 3 times and the second and third ones only once.

Shoot Fighter is great. Grabbed it on VHS a few years ago. Worth tracking down if you like DTV action flicks.

"At Netflix we believe Black Lives Matter.... except for Aisha in Cobra Kai, she was just axed"

Seanny One Ball 09-24-2020 03:48 AM

Did she seriously get fired?

Damian Rey 2.0 09-29-2020 02:30 PM

She made it sound like the upcoming season had no place for her character.

Seanny One Ball 09-29-2020 03:07 PM

Cobra Kai is only for the strong of spirit

Damian Rey 2.0 09-29-2020 03:43 PM

She was kinda useless as a character anyways. Once she got her comeuppance it was over for her. There was nowhere else for her character to go from there.

I read season 3 is supposed to move to Japan.

Ol Dirty Dastard 09-29-2020 04:06 PM

I feel like Robbie should be serving a stint in Juvi for attempted murder.

Though, I suppose he could claim a brief bout of Psychosis.

Seanny One Ball 09-29-2020 04:39 PM

That school would be world famous after a karate battle like that went down.

God it was glorious.

Ol Dirty Dastard 09-29-2020 04:42 PM

the bulk of the children involved in the fight, at the very least, would have to be expelled. I also imagine , IRL, that Danny, Johnny, and Kreese would be criminally responsible.

Ol Dirty Dastard 09-29-2020 04:43 PM

Woulda potentially been more "hardcore" had they all broke out into an unsanctioned dance-off.

Seanny One Ball 09-29-2020 04:49 PM

Ugh, no.

Karate or gtfo

Ol Dirty Dastard 09-29-2020 04:56 PM

What about if they competed in a no-holds-barred talent show?

But they had to perform their acts on a 50 foot high scaffold that was hovering over a bed of barbed wire.
