Infinity ward has leaked some info on the new COD6. As im sure you know the next COD6 takes place again in the Modern Warfare world. Here is the leaked information

*Vehicles will be in MW2
*M16 will return, using stopping power will only be OHK at head, neck, and torso (abdomen, limbs, and hands/feet will not)
*Ak47 and M4 will return, unknown if there are any changes
*M40 will return, ACOG damage boost will be fixed
*Scorpion, P90, M21, R700, G3, G360 will not return
*There are more unknown weapons that will not return
*New sniper rifle: SR25M (United states forces)
*New Assault rifle: Diemeco C8 (Canadian forces M4 equivelant)
*New Assault rifle: L85A2 (United Kingdom forces)
*Total weapons in multiplayer are said to be around 35
*Favourite Modern warfare 1 maps will return
*Helicopters, air strikes, UAV will return
*Red dot sightings will come in different shapes for multiplayer (circular, square, original)
*Snipers will have special grass camouflage (As seen in Modern warfare 1’s campaign)
*All perks will return from MW except eavesdrop and others will be altered
*All gametypes will return from MW and all will have hardcore versions
*New gametype: Secure (Call of duty version of capture the flag, however you capture the enemy’s Intel)
*New gametype unconfirmed name, similar to search and destroy, however instead of trying to plant a bomb, you try to kill a specified enemy
*Solider customization for each class (and each country)
*Sniper with silencers will NOT be in multiplayer
*There are NO bots in local multiplayer
*Similar version to Nazi Zombies, however details are unknown
*NO guest players online, 1 player per console
*Killcam save feature
*There is blood and gore
*Offline/Online Co-op
*Story takes place in the Middle East
*Role as US marines return
*Ken Lally voice work in campaign
*Release is set for sometime in November
*New army tags will be available to add different elements in campaign (similar to halo skulls)

They could do somethings so it wouldn't be completely overpowered, like they could have made it so if you put a silencer on your rifle, you can't use a uav jammer, or only get 1 claymore or you lose a perk slot like when you use grenades on guns.

That might balance things out for normal game types, but they would still be overpowered in hardcore.

Dunno, just don't think snipers need silencers.

They missed the boat witht he ghille suit in the sniper mission and not having it in multiplayer as an option in create a class. Nice to see it makes it in.

Kinda sucks they're gonna dumb down the stopping power on the M16. Unless they got mad hate mail on it, I hope that juggernaut gets affected as well so it gets balanced out in the long run.

I've heard of people using "accuracy chips" or some shit on the PS3 version. And people exploiting map areas out of the general areas where you can't see them, like way off the screen. Don't know if it's bullshit or not, but a lot of cheating rumors go around.

Those are on all the versions of the game(360, PC, PS3). Infact I found out you could get on top of the buildings on Crossfire on the PC version.

A far as I know tho, you can only do that kind of stuff in old school mode, due to being able to jump higher.

Personally, I can do without any of the Perks. They're gay and make the game more arcadey than any Halo or other similarly 'non-realistic' shooter. And if their must be Perks, keep them logical. That shit where you drop a grenade upon death is newb any way you out it. Newb shit to the max. Why should you be rewarded - upon death - with a grenade drop that will at the very least rock your killer or whoever is around. Why? Whose idea was that? Then there's shooting why laying on the ground 'dying'. This should be a default ability and it doesn't even constitute as something to be turned on or off.

Like I said, I rather abolish Perks in general. But if they must be there, the stupid shit that adds nothing to the game/meta-game/strats of CoD4 can go.

Kalyx is off his rocker. Perks are awesome. Also, Martyrdom is excellent for objective based games. Wouldn't use it in kill based games, but in domination or headquarters, it's too useful a tool not to use it.

I've never seen a good player bitch about martyrdom. Fuck, you don't even have to be that good. I'm average, and I very rarely get killed by it. Certainly not enough where I'm crying for it to be taken out.

And all this talk of "rewarding you for getting killed" is a complete crock of shit. You are not garaunteed a kill. And it isn't a reward for dying. It's a reward for reaching the level in rank that unlocks it.

Just so sick of all this whining and bitching about stuff in this game. M16s are noob, grenade launchers are noob, uav jammer is noob, martyrdom is noob, stopping power is noob, shooting people is noob.

Maybe everyone should just stand completly still and try and knife one another. No one will get any kills, but at least they won't be noobs.

Avoid what? A fucking bomb from a corpse? The only way to avoid it would be to steer clear of a recent frag, interrupting your tactical movements about a deathmatch (or whathaveyou) and for what? The strategic implications are annoying at best. Games aren't decided from 'failsafe' measures and should not be.

I waltz around the range of the blast from the stupid Perk and go about my business. Except it's not a uniform Perk, so people will steer clear of 'dying corpse' just in case they get fragged by a bomb that the killed player did not have to activate in any way. In Gears you have to have a grenade in hand at the time of death, and then activate the move for a last ditch well deserved frag (and I can't even believe I'm citing Gears for this one).

In Halo you merely throw a grenade at your feet when death is pretty much expected, still a move at your control. This carries over to just about any other shooter. Pfft, even CoD4!

So why then is there some static mechanic that leaves the player totally void of responsibility pending death? Why should the game designers be so kind as to include a bothersome mechanic like this? It is gay and counter-intuitive to CoD's [apparently] tactic heavy nature - which, BTW, the game consistently contradicts with various features that spit on the idea of balance.

I agree it's very handy when it comes to those 2 matches especially on maps like shipment where the map is very confined. I scored like 700 some points on headquarters just on that map thanks to the martrdom perk.

It really isn't hard to avoid. Most of the weapons, you shouldn't be killing at too close a range anyways. And if you get killed once or twice by it in a match, that's enough to remind you to be wary.

I got killed by it a lot when I started. But now it's second nature to me (most of the time) to not blindly charge over a just killed corpse. Yeah it kind of sucks if you're going around a corner and run into an martyrdomed enemy that a teammate just dropped or something, but shit like that happens in video games.

And all the stuff about it disrupting tactical movement, well that's kind of the point, isn't it. I know I'm not gonna turn off any of my perks because it annoys my opponent. I want him off his game. That's like complaining about people throwing fireballs in Street Fighter because you can't walk across the screen anymore.

Modern Warfare 2 teaser video shows off first game footage, promises 'world premiere' May 24


TNT has been teasing the "world premiere" of Modern Warfare 2 on May 24th during the Eastern Conference , and it's offering a teaser as a hook. It looks like the footage might be culled solely from cutscenes, but it seems to be promising us some snowmobile vehicle action, underwater levels, and a shellfire sequence that hearkens back to the AC-130 gunship level in the first game.

Check out the video above, and if you're interested in Modern Warfare 2, or the NBA, then tune in during the Eastern Conference finals in two weeks. That Siberian setting is looking particularly cool at the start of the summer.

I'm a bit hesitant with joystiq's embed codes, because I'm not sure if the video is showing up for anyone else. After copying and pasting the code, it leaves "excess" code laying around. When I delete that, the video seems to disappear. So, it's like post their video with extra code sticking out, or nothing at all. Probably just me. Pretty sure it is.

Modern Warfare 2 intel captured in latest Game Informer

As per this month's Modern Warfare 2 cover story in Game Informer, details of the piece have surfaced over at GiantBomb. A smattering of new revelations are covered, including the flat-out refusal of co-op play in story mode (said to break the narrative experience). Additionally, Captain "Soap" MacTavish returns, bringing with him distinctly more open-ended gameplay, and a significantly fleshed out "special forces" mode (one that will mimic and expand upon the final "Mile High Club" airplane battle in CoD4).

If you want more, you're just going to have to snag a copy of this month's GI. We'll be honest with you, though -- at this point, we expect greatness from the veteran development team at Infinity Ward. Luckily, from the looks of things, the game's release on November 10 will bring ever-widening smiles to the faces of existing fans and reignite our already burnin' love for the series.

I never know rather to get it for ps3 or xbox360... Xbox live is more organized but my year is almost up and affter the two 1 month cards i have i don't think i'll use it (inless call of duty comes with a free month)

any good game that comes with a free month I usualy buy.

Modern Warfare 2 map packs hitting Xbox Live first

Modern Warfare 2 has officially joined the somewhat exclusive Microsoft DLC club. Infinity Ward's relentless first-person shooter will offer downloadable map packs (duh!), the first two of which will launch first on Xbox Live. The news came via Microsoft's E3 press, where Microsoft's John Schappert was keen to emphasize that the Xbox 360 version would lead the way in Modern Warfare 2's online component.

Which, with any luck, will be heavy on the snowmobile combat. Snowmobile combat!
