Reviving Pointless Wrestling Trivia
I remember "this was a thing" awhile back in the forums, so I thought I'd bring it back.
This time, I say we "pose a question" and once it is answered, then the next one can be posed. I'll start, in 2001 who said "nobody is gonna see me beat you, because when they heard your horrible theme, everybody changed the channel!" I'll give you a hint on who he was talking to.... <iframe width="420" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/lW91vTwFvRQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
Jericho?
Edge and/or Christian?
Sounds like Edge, because I remember him also saying "Hey X-Pac, 1998 called, and they're sick of you".
Not as bad a theme as I remember
Rock?
Bubba Ray Dudley?
Def Edge in his promo about how he used to be Gothic but he changed his character and how XPac hasn't changed in a decade. It's called Quote Character Development Unquote.
Does the first person who got it right asks the next? Or do we wait for confirmation?
I will go on the record of stating that if I am right, I don't really have a follow up question to ask. Terrible at coming up with questions.
What wrestler who is well known for his involvement in stables only has 2 runs as a tag team champion, both of which were with a different Hall of Famer from Texas?
My first thought without even finishing the question was "Triple H"..... Finishing the question, I think it is indeed Triple H....
Correct. Triple H's 2 runs with the tag titles were in 2001 with Stone Cold and in 2009 with HBK.
What wrestler is the only man on the current WWE roster to be born in New Hampshire?
Probably some highly over-rated mid carder who only got a push because of whom he slept with.
Who is the only person in WWE history to have lost and won a major title* in the same match.
(*not including Hardcore title) |
Cody Rhodes
Westbrook Maine has produced two WWE Superstars. Name them.
Quote:
He is regularly on TV and has headlined multiple PPVs in the past 3 years.
You consider him a man and not a god?
(Kick Wham Pedigree) |
Quote:
Correct.
<font color=goldenrod>Woooo. Knew Scotty right off the bat. Fandango was the only other guy I could think of from Maine.</font>
Durring the IRS Undertaker feud, The Million Dollar Corporation "hired two druids" to be lackeys to IRS. Who played the two druids at the 1995 Royal Rumble?
So, was the answer to the first question Edge?

Name the only wrestler to defend the WWWF International Tag Team Championship, the WWWF Tag Team Championship and WWF Tag Team Championship.
Either Fuji or Tanaka. Probably Tanaka.
Noppers. Fuji is a good guess.
Hint: he had a different gimmick/name while defending each belt |
Nikolai Volkoff
Correct boy wonder!
International WWWF Title as Bepo Mongol. Nikolai used to be billed from Mongolia WWWF Tag Team Title: Killer Kowalski and Big John Studd wore black masks and called themselves the Executioners and.became WWWF tag champs. Well one day a third black masked man showed up and defended the tag belts, known as Executioner #3. That man was Nikolai Volkoff. It also caused the team to be stripped of the titles. WWF Tag Team Belt: with Iron Sheik of course. |
Who competed and who won the first ever match carried live over the WWE Network?
Pretty sure it was Cesaro at the first NXT special?
Your answer should be Sami zayn vs. Cesaro with Cesaro winning but still incorrect
Quote:
Nope.
You would think Cesaro Def Sami Zayn at NXT Arrival..probably an episode of main event though
Titus O'Neil Def Zack Ryder
No but droford is on the right track
It actually has to be ArrivaL which was live on 2/27, the network launched on 2/24, the first live main event was 3/4 and superstars was never live
Clue 1: Winning wrestler got his name mispronounced by a Nascar Dude.
Clue 2: Losing Wrestler is Lebanese. |
Kofi Kingston Defeated Damien Sandow on the Raw Pre-show (match taped for WWE Superstars) but aired live for the pre-show festivities.
Who was the first 5 time WWF tag team.champion
Billy Gunn?
I wanted to say Mr fuji and then I looked it up and it wasnt
Noppers to both. Droford is in the right era.
nvm I'm wrong but based on judgment call there could be two answers.
Hint: he still works for the company
Tony Garea
Dean Ho once Haystacks Calhoun once Larry Zbyszko once Rick Martel twice Dean, Calhoun and Zbyszko were WWWF Martel WWF. |
So the answer is Mike Rotundo then?
Two as US Express and 3 as Money Inc. |
Which foreign object caused the U.S Express to lose the Tag Straps to the Dream Team
If it wasn't for pointless House show title changes Billy Gunn would be the answer! :D

Quote:
Btw, you'd think Tony Garea would be in the Hall of Fame, although I thought he was awful. |
He isnt? He reminds me of Dennis Stamp with his looks.
Quote:
Doh
Quote:
Tony had a waaaaay better career. He was literally the first tag team specialist in the company. He more often than not lost all his singles matches, but was unbeatable in teams. |
Shows how much Vince values tag team wrestling.
His dad was the same. There were some awful teams who held the belts in the 70's. They were really treated as second class belts.
Hint: a valet in the mid-late 90's used to carry this object with her to the ring.
Johnny Valiant's Cigar
Bam, correct boy wonder!
For What reason was Jerry the King Lawler disqualified in the Karate Fighter's Holiday Tournament?
Didn't he glue his fighters legs down or s something ridiculous like that
He actually taped his fighters legs to the pedestal so it couldn't fall off.
You were on the right track, though. |
What XFL team won the league's first and only title in 2001?

This one is pretty easy, what was the name of Adrian Neville's first tag team partner he won gold with in NXT (and what was the team name)?
Oliver Grey. British Ambition.
Quote:
Gertner is close too but this was the correct substance. Taped? If he taped them together they couldn't move to kick Sunny off. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/bIUeW-nqJvk" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
Who was the last person to use a "fireball" in the WWF/ WWE?
Seems like something Mankind would do
Xpac on Kane?
Or Kane on Chyna maybe?
At any rate, anyone who's ever used it ultimately needs to thank the original Sheik for innovating it way back when. |
its not WWF, but lets all laugh at Hogan's attempt at Halloween Havoc versus Warrior (my guess is Kane on Chyna as well)

Who was the first title holder of the short-lived WWF North American Heavyweight Championship?
I literally just read this on another forum: Ted Dibiase
Including qualifying matches, what wrestler has appeared in the most King Of The Ring tournaments?
Similar question, different answer: Including qualifying matches, what wrestler has appeared in the most King Of The Ring tournament matches? |
Is the first answer Goldust?
Second answer I'm gonna guess Bret Hart |
Quote:
Your question, BNG. |
I was originally going to ask what titles unified to make the IC title, but apparently the story I've heard is at least in part a lie.
I always thought Patterson unified the WWF North American and South American Heavyweight titles, but it appears there never was a WWF South American Heavyweight Championship, instead the Intercontinental Championship originally only represented the continents of North and South America, which may or may not explain how the European Championship came into being. |
Which former 1980's WWF jobber did Jimmy Snuka defeat to become the first ECW champion?
