Please dear god no.................

I think there's too much...there. I haven't followed the story as closely as some others, but there's a reason it's so uncomfortable. I sincerely doubt he'll be back.

Natty trying to do Nakamura's hand thingy reminds me of Mike Tyson doing messed up looking DX chops back in the day.

I actually really like Nakamura in pink and black.

I’d love to know more.

It's one of those uncomfortable situations where you don't want to talk out of school, but you also don't want to stick your head in the sand. I just can't see the WWE shaking hands with him again.

Also would 100p be at Mania in Philly. I'm 45 minutes from the stadium.

Mixed Match Challenge is on the Network.

SlickyTrickyDamon 01-20-2018 03:03 AM

Interesting. Figured they'd keep it just on Facebook Watch cause that's the whole point of it.

#BROKEN Hasney 01-20-2018 03:12 AM

Nah, they announced it would just be delayed. Makes sense since the Facebook bollocks is US only.

I got all excited about Del Rio's last return because he was GREAT in Lucha Underground and I was all hyped...then he came back to WWE and started doing the exact same boring shit he was doing before.

Good shit right there.

Johnny Jeter was so good so young. It's a shame the WWE never really did anything with him beyond the Spirit Squad stuff.

#BROKEN Hasney 01-20-2018 05:35 PM

Cappotelli was great too, but got injured straight after his first main roster call up, then was the only wrestler I know of to benefit from a concussion as they found that brain tumor he had due to a routine scan after a concussion.

Was supposed to tag with Johnny Nitro on the main roster. Fan of Joey Mercury, but think that could have been an even better team.

RevPro Suzuki Gun V Mustache Mountain spoilers

SPOILER: show
Suzuki Gun are the new UK tag team champions. Means I have more chance to go see Suzuki in this country

Evil Vito 01-20-2018 05:48 PM

I remember they randomly brought Johnny Jeter back for some huge 30-man battle royal they had on Raw in late 2006. He had been off-screen since the Spirit Squad ended and I figured they'd brought him back to do something with Kenny Dykstra, the only Squad member to stay on the main roster.

Instead he was never seen on the main roster again. Puzzling considering how good he was.

Hmm, I think MNM was better, just because Nitro & Cappotelli would have reeked of "Tough Enough." And Mercury put together a lot of the MNM stuff and kind of led Nitro in the early days. He was a big part of putting the package together. Nitro and Cappotelli would have been two great raw talents without any polish.

He worked as Jayden Jeter at house shows. Cornette has spoken about him before, and has alluded to Jeter's passion for the business being stamped out by WWE. I'm not sure how personalized that information is (Cornette is honest and on the money usually, but when he likes guys, he often places the blame on the company first -- like with the Eugene gimmick), but he seems to have had a good relationship with Jeter. I didn't realize this, but Jeter actually won the OVW Heavyweight Title way back in 2003.

Mr. Nerfect 01-20-2018 06:48 PM

Jeter is also part of the concussion lawsuit against the WWE now.

Unfortunately, that has been a recurring trend in recent years with a bunch of people that got cut by the WWE.

Wade Barrett does a bit of wrestling related stuff on the side but he's pretty much done as an active wrestler and several former women wrestlers admitted their time in the WWE killed their desire to continue in the industry. Then you have others like Swagger who still wrestles but also admitted about how much passion he lost because of the WWE.

Mr. Nerfect 01-20-2018 07:53 PM

Oh, there's an entire lost generation of wrestlers who were stamped out by the WWE and shitty gimmicks in the 21st century. I get mocked for liking a lot of the first wave OVW wrestlers, but they should have been more than gimps, the mentally challenged, French sympathizers (what the fuck does that even mean?), male strippers, stutterers, stylists and cheerleaders.

Evil Vito 01-20-2018 08:34 PM

To be fair, Rico as a stylist was great and given that he was 40 when he was called up his ceiling was never going to be particularly high. As it is he got a decent amount of screen time in his two and a half years on the roster and totally killed it in the role he was given.

Emperor Smeat 01-20-2018 08:40 PM

Even though their gimmicks were doomed to fail almost from the start, Eugene and Scotty Goldman (Colt Cabana) probably would have been a lot more successful if they arrived in the WWE a few years later.

Cabana's style of comedy as a wrestler would have fit a lot better in the PG era while Eugene could have been molded into a potential huge star and hero for disabled children.

It was entertaining, and so were moments of The Spirit Squad. And Nick Dinsmore was never going to be pushed as a wrestler, so adjusting and playing the mentally challenged boy prolonged his main roster tenure too. It's just a shame that it was like that. Why not use Rico as a serious babyface and try to do something like WCW did with DDP or WWE is currently doing with AJ Styles? Not to say that it would have worked on either of those levels, but I doubt you would assert that he had to be a silly act while he was there either. Daniel Bryan could have been great as "Bryan the IT Guy" too. It's just fortunate we didn't get that.

Eugene wouldn't work today. It would be seen as insensitive and tasteless (rightfully so). It was, ugh, a "necessary evil" (what does that say about the WWE?) in 2004 or whenever he came up, because a real rassler gimmick wouldn't have worked. It's a shame they didn't turn him on the ECW show in 2006 and have him "shoot" on how WWE made him play a "retard," when he's really one of the best technical wrestlers in the world today. Could have been a fun act on that rebooted show (had they insisted on doing it).

Dinsmore, coming along today, probably would have been tearing it up in the indies as a "wrestling genius," had some good stuff going for him in ROH, EVOLVE and New Japan -- stretching out guys like Zack Sabre, Jr. Then NXT would have signed him to be a player/coach for a while and see if the smarks ate him up. Then he'd either get a push towards the NXT Title or moved to the main roster and then either forgotten about on SmackDown or slum it on Raw like any of the indy guys are currently doing.

Shisen Kopf 01-20-2018 11:37 PM

Eugene was a good rassler but his gimmick was retarded

This is true. Really weird to think of Triple H working with Nick Dinsmore playing a mentally challenged kid.

Evil Vito 01-20-2018 11:52 PM

I remember feeling genuinely sad when Evolution revealed their true colors to Eugene and beat the fuck out of him. You can basically pinpoint the moment this clueless mentally challenged man's heart breaks when he realizes his idol and his friends all hate his guts.

I actually wanted to see him get his revenge. Which of course never happened.

Mr. Nerfect 01-21-2018 12:32 AM

Triple H can work with Eugene at SummerSlam, but he can't put him over -- that would be ridiculous.

Evil Vito 01-21-2018 12:37 AM

What they could've done was use the angle to set up a mega push for Regal when he dropped this fucking awesome promo.

Lock Jaw 01-21-2018 12:38 AM

At the time I remember it being so "weird" and "surreal" that Chris Benoit had just won the big one, but the main focus of the show become a mentally challenged character and Benoit as just a "supporting player"
