I got off to a really rough start in mine, losing my first three. Wound up coming back to win the whole thing as the #2 seed. Got two Rare Fandangos for it and a boost that I don't remember if I even kept.

It depresses me to think about how WWE has managed to make me completely disinterested in a performer as talented Bray Wyatt because his character has no real purpose.

I should have loved Jericho/Wyatt, yet it was far from promo gold. Wyatt just droned endlessly about the words "save us" and there were no real stakes. Jericho beats Wyatt clean, yet Wyatt buried it the very next night by being all "HAHAHAHA WINS AND LOSSES DON'T MATTER TO ME!" Yet then he actively tried to escape the cage in his match on Raw and now is presumably going to be chasing a championship.

Like...does he really not care about winning or does he? What are his motives? Make up your fucking minds.

Blame E! and the company who produces Total Divas since they demanded it to be done and as a tie-in to this season's Total Divas. Whole storyline is likely going to last almost as long as the season itself.

WWE has been so bad lately. Like so horribly awful. I get depressed having to do the podcast now.

Lock Jaw 09-14-2014 02:55 PM

Dunno, I've enjoyed it. Two main terrible things:

1) John Cena destroying Wyatt Family, and the booking of the Wyatts in general.
2) Jack Swagger's feud with Rusev being over.

I feel the same tbh. Summerslam was great but have not finished a raw since then, very hard to sit through so many poor segments. Its amazing how bad some things can be on a show with so much talent and writers working on it. But then I see people enjoy it and think that I am just not a fan anymore for whatever reason.

The fact that a loved Summerslam makes me think that I still like good wrestling though, just can't see past some of the non-sensical booking and angles. Cenas booking since the loss and the bellas angle is so bad to me

Rammsteinmad 09-14-2014 03:42 PM

I wish they still had the brand split going on. Half of the guys come and go and "get lost in the shuffle" as we call it. I miss the days when the brand split was new and both brands were equally important and exciting.

I've been watching wrestling since 1993, and this is the first period when I don't watch anymore. I don't really watch Smackdown anymore, and even when I do, just to watch certain matches, I end up skipping through most of the match. I don't watch Main Event anymore and only occasionally catch up with NXT and TNA. Raw is the only one I watch every week, and even that I get through in about an hour.

It scares me to think that maybe I'm just growing out of it, because after following it for 21 years, I dunno what life will be like without pro sports entertainmenting. It's been basically a part of my whole life and I love it, but WWE is so boring lately.

whiteyford 09-14-2014 03:56 PM

Smackdown is pretty much Raw rewind plus a few meaningless matches since the brand split ended, I record it every week but usually don't even bother watching. NXT is generally the better show.

As noted, this week's TNA Impact Wrestling tapings from Bethlehem, PA are the last scheduled live events in the United States for the company. A number of TNA's production crew will finish their runs with the company at these events. We will have live spoiler coverage on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday night.

TNA may be producing some episodes of Impact Wrestling that are made up of mostly clips, highlights and reviews of storylines. They would go this route if they end up not having enough material to air on Spike TV once they're finished with this week's tapings in Bethlehem, PA.
TNA has around 14 episodes left and majority of that might end up being highlight/recap shows.

WARNING FROM HEYMAN!!!

LADIES AND GENTELMEN MY NAME IS PAUL HEYMAN, and I offer you greetings from 40,000 feet. As I embark on this journey to the wretched State of Louisiana, I find myself repulsed by the notion that John Cena has yet to realize there is no shame in being a strong, clear cut, number two… when number one is my client, the reigning defending undisputed Heavyweight Champion of the World Brock Lesnar!

Last week on WWE Monday Night RAW, I OFFERED JOHN CENA THE BEST ADVICE HE EVER RECEIVED IN HIS ENTIRE LIFE! Unfortunately, John Cena is so wrapped up in this self-image of being your hero, he fool-heartedly issued a challenge for Brock Lesnar to show up tomorrow night in (of all places) Lafayette, Louisiana… live on RAW… and not for a face to face confrontation, but for a fight. Need I remind John Cena, it was in that very State of Louisiana, New Orleans to be exact, where my client Brock Lesnar Conquered The Undertaker’s Undefeated Streak at Wrestlemania? Need I remind John Cena, I told everyone in advance that would happen?

Need I remind John Cena I told everyone my client would beat, victimize and conquer him at SummerSlam?

John Cena has challenged Brock Lesnar to a fight six days before their rematch for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Night of Champions.

It’s a heroic gesture, but a stupid one at that. Brock Lesnar is going to kick John Cena’s ass all over Monday Night RAW, and John Cena will not have enough time to recover to be 100% for his contractually-invoked rematch at WWE Night of Champions next Sunday.

Martyrdom does not guarantee immortality. Bluntly, it guarantees the opposite. Martyrdom only offers death. In this case, the death of John Cena’s dream of proving himself anything but inferior to my client, the reigning defending WWE Heavyweight Champion of the World, Brock Lesnar!”

It was reported last Thursday morning, just hours before the WWE NXT Takeover event, that Ric Flair would be missing the show due to a personal conflict. Flair was scheduled to appear at Takeover in a segment with Kenta, introducing him as Hideo Itami. It turns out that Flair was hospitalized at the Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville, Georgia. We know that Flair was in the hospital as of September 9th and the decision for him to miss Takeover may not have been made until late Wednesday evening, September 10th. I wasn't able to confirm why Flair was hospitalized but it may have been for some sort of stomach surgery. A source close to the situation noted that Flair has been at the same hospital at least twice since September 3rd.
