Too rich for my blood.

Yep, same price as regular Sunday Ticket with DirecTV. Expensive as fuck, but I'm so tired of watching shitty streams only to have them constantly go down. I'll pay so long as they also offer the payment option for the PS3 like they do normally

Leaked/unrelease gameplay trailer for "I Am Alive" (skip to 0:31 for the actual trailer. Everything before that is some guys YouTube intro.) :

Some shitty FPS.

LoDownM 08-21-2011 04:03 PM

New Driver: SF multiplayer demo was fun, didn't get a full 6 people tho.

Kalyx triaD 08-21-2011 04:05 PM

I'll check that out.

LoDownM 08-21-2011 04:10 PM

I like the car switching. Because I'm terrible at driving games lol. Now I don't have to give a shit and just switch cars.

Did you play the single player demo? Trying to see if it has a different engine because the single player had the worst handling since that Yaris game.

LoDownM 08-21-2011 06:52 PM

No I didn't. I never intended to try the single player even if I ended up buying it when its out.

Please don't ever mention that game again.

Kalyx triaD 08-21-2011 10:46 PM

That's new.

Extreme Angle 08-22-2011 05:00 AM

Notch has made a game in 48 hours for some competition.
It's pretty good considering how long it took...

EA and Bioware reveal Dragon Age III will be created by using the "best parts" of Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age II instead of being a purely new game.

Bioware is using fan feedback for the current project along with stuff that upset fans with the previous games as the main priority in developing the new game.

Bioware also stated gameplay features and stuff that were disliked by fans of the games would be scrapped from Dragon Age III with the focus making the game being the best in the series. The exact features being scrapped or meshed together was not revealed during the interview though.

Quote:

Dr. Ray made an attempt to assuage the fears of any players who may have been alienated by Dragon Age 2 by explaining that BioWare's current plan is to combine the best pieces of both previous titles into one drastically improved sequel.

“What we need to do as developers is take that feedback from both sets of fans to heart and see about marrying that in future games in the Dragon Age franchise. I think that the team has actually got a great plan. I think the team is going to have some things that are going to surprise both sets of fans, both core fans and new fans with a marriage of these… the best from both games, Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age 2. And we look forward more to talking about that in the future.”
The studio also felt a lot of the negatives fans had with Dragon Age II and Origins were the result of over-hyped expectations than parts of the game actually being bad but they will still make the changes needed.

Quick News Round-Up:

1) The creative director of Airtight Games, Kim Swift, reveals the company will officially debut her first project with the company weekend at the PAX convention. She was one of the co-creators of the Portal series along with help working on the Left for Dead series before leaving Valve at the end of 2009.

2) According to recent rumors from the Official Xbox Magazine, Fable IV is set to be released in 2013 and will go back to traditional controls and will not be using Kinect like the current spin-off project. Gearbox Software is also rumored to be rebooting the Duke Nukem franchise after the remake of Duke Nukem 3D is released later this year.

3) Nintendo announces Metroid II and Super Mario Land 2 from the original Gameboy will arrive on the 3DS Virtual Console before the end of this year. These games will not be part of the Ambassador program as Nintendo previously announced only NES and Game Boy Advance games would be selected for the program.

G 08-22-2011 07:52 PM

Could that mean a different look and voice for Duke?

ClockShot 08-22-2011 08:33 PM

Take the deep storyline from Dragon Age: Origns + the combat system of Dragon Age 2 = my vision of Dragon Age 3.

LoDownM 08-22-2011 10:14 PM

Nah. They just need to take the updated graphics from DA2 and the conversation wheel from DA2/ME and put it in the gameplay and with story equal to DA: O for DA3.

Nintendo announces it has a huge surprise ready to be revealed two days before a little bit before the Tokyo Game Show starts on September 15 with the main focus being on what the company is calling an "Extremely Big Title."

Currently Nintendo is holding a 3DS focused event on September 13 but did not reveal if the big announcement is specifically for a 3DS game. Last time Nintendo held a pre-TGS event, it was for the confirmation of the debut of the 3DS. In terms of games, Nintendo traditionally doesn't show off mega-titles at TGS and prefers to use E3 for those debuts.

The news was strong enough to cause a big enough spike to occur in Nintendo related stocks with the impressions from investors that the news will be something huge.

Rumors for the actual game involve either a Pokemon type MMO or at least the previously hinted Monster Hunter game Capcom said they wanted to make for the 3DS.

Quick News Round-Up:

1) John Carmack from id Software confirms the upcomming Doom 4 will run at the standard 30 frames per second for multiplayer but the studio is pushing the single player campaign to run at 60 fps. The decision was done to increase the action in the single player with more effects and monsters possible instead of just a uniform 30 fps for both modes similar to most games in the shooter genre.

2) Namco Bandi announces Dark Souls will not have any DLC content or "expansion" style packs as the studio is focusing on making the gameplay last around 50-60 hours on its own. The company also revealed the main reason was due to the sheer size of the game being 3 times larger than Demon Souls meant the game itself had enough content to offset the need for extra DLC or stuff cut like in other games.

3) Sonic CD set to arrive on Xbox Live Arcade after Major Nelson leaked in his official blog all the titles set to be shown at upcomming events later this year.

LoDownM 08-23-2011 10:05 PM

Bodycount demo wasn't that bad, it's like playing a freddiew video, but that novelty wears off fast.

NHL 12 and Warhammer 40k Space Marine demos tho, awesome.

Kane Knight 08-23-2011 10:36 PM

There are rumours of a new 3DS being announced. If that's really their solution to current problems, Nintendo needs to die in a fire.

Captain of Fun 08-23-2011 11:51 PM

Always wanted to try Sonic CD.

LuigiD 08-23-2011 11:53 PM

Was reading that they might release a 3DS but tone down the 3D..whatever the fuck that means. Would seem like a bizarre move considering that i the gimmick for the system..

Drakul 08-24-2011 01:41 AM

I read the same thing. I'll wait until after TGS to get my 3DS now. I'm not going to fork over for a 3DS and then find out they announce the 3DSi at TGS a week later.

The rumour as posted on the Escapist mentions no 3D or a 2D focus and a second analogue stick.

So yeah, maybe they've figured out that the gimmick is a bad idea. Don't know how they're working a second analogue stick into things, though. That either means a bigger handheld or a crowded scenario.

Even without the 3D, it's still an upgraded DS, and that has some benefit.

The problem will be games. Kind of like it already is.

Kane Knight 08-24-2011 09:10 AM

Another negative Nintendo Rumour:

http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news...-U-Development

If I keep this up, Assman will have a hissyfit.

LuigiD 08-24-2011 09:31 AM

Ouch.
If the WiiU is going through that trouble..what a shit storm. Kinda goes with what a lost of testers were saying about the remote. That it wasn't responding properly.
I hope its something positive and not something negative. Funny since stock skyrocketed yesterday after the announcement.

Well yeah, they're expecting a major announcement. And a new DS, or a Pokémon MMO might still jack the stock some more. Of course, failure of the WiiU will be an issue as well.
