It's a shame the Smash Bros one isn't the newer model.

Everyone of you who post in here are social degenerate gaming nerds

You just posted in here.

Damnit, I just bought a new 3DS less than a month ago.
|
I had the Smash Bros 3DS preordered but I'm cancelling that. Glad I waited.

I paid a whole $40 for my 3DS! Bah!

2014: The Delay
|
Late Night News Edition:
Activision is currently rumored to be planning an attempt to purchase Take-Two Interactive soon.
Quote:
In terms of a potential offer, Activision has way more money in cash reserves alone than Take-Two has in total wealth. Could easily make a $2-3 billion offer and still have $1-2 billion left afterwards. |
Didn't the try this before and were told to get lost?
|
According to the thread in Neogaf where I found the news, the EA bid was dropped because EA barely went above Take-Two's net value and weren't willing to provide large sums of their own money for Take Two's projects.
|
These giant developer devouring, game killing studios do get tricky to tell apart sometimes.
|
I don't want a port of Saints Row, I want a new one dammit!
|
Really enjoyed Saints Row 4, would prefer a newer one though.
|
For those interested and have an Xbox 360, Microsoft is offering a free month of Xbox Live Gold. The only catch is your account needs to be Silver to do it and have to manually turn off auto-renewal on their website.

I'm currently trying to change my Gamertag, as I've been meaning to do it for years now, but when I enter a new one, it says it's already taken.
Although, when I check the availability of it from both the official Xbox website and another site that let's you check the availability of Gamertags, both say that the Gamertag is available. |

That game Capcom and Dimps are doing may not be so obviously SF5. There's still a very real chance that USF4 could be up-ported to next gen. This studio pairing made SF4, but I'm thinking they may toss a swerve in the vein of another fighting series.

Really hope there's a way I can import my themes from my PS3. Love my Killzone and Arkham City ones.

So Super Time Force seems really fun, but I just can't get into games that focus that much on a time limit, even if that limit can be manipulated like in this game.

Mega Man X6 is fucking awful anyway.
|
There's a kind of 'missing the point' and 'innocence lost' when you consider a Lego game having a season past and multiple DLC packs. I remember Lego Marvel had a lot of DLC, too. I wouldn't have guessed that the primary Lego games demographic would have a high capacity for buying DLC and season passes.

Microsoft buying mojang is interesting

This gamergate nonsense is so fucking stupid.
|
Have heard of it but have not idea what it's about.
|
It started with legit complaints about the ethics of a few feminist gamers, and then just balooned into ridiculousness.

I definitely disagree that the label "gamer" is a bad status symbol, but it has become a bit dated, if you ask me.

I've followed GamerGate since the very start and any questions you have I can answer. I can tell you it only got wild when the SJW game journalists escalated the situation. They are absolutely in the wrong. Conveying this to casual onlookers is admittingly difficult, but recent changes to receptive game sites (disclosing disclaimers on articles) and companies pulling ads shows that there are certainly issues worth bringing up.
A writer for Gamasutra was a big reason Intel pulled ads from that site. She was extremely toxic to gamers and her career is basically on borrowed time. There's still some ways to go since the rabbit gets deep as fuck. It all seems to trail back to Feminist academia which is why game sites were suddenly interested in social criticism of games and pop culture in general ("Tomb Raider is a Rapists Fantasy and Here's Why", "Ten Reasons Street Fighter Validates Urban Violence" are the kinds of headlines we've seen more and more the last four years). If it stopped there it would honky dory; just go to another site, right? Except most major gaming sites are managed by a single PR company who has roots in Feminists/SJW ideology. A few weeks ago in response to a major revelation concerning a female developer, these game sites all coordinated over ten articles saying Gamer/Gaming is dead within two days. This bolstered GamerGate activists to look deeper and BOY did things get interesting from there. |
Even the article posted above is slanted as hell, ignoring why gamers went after Gamasutra's ad revenue. MANY mainstream sites put out articles like this.
|
The SJW are wrong, but as usual the internet goes way too far with the backlash.
It's just the escalation of the situation that I think is ridiculous. |
Alien: Isolation seems to be getting less than favorable reviews.
Fuck's sake. The one game I want that doesn't get delayed. And for god's sake, can we just get one quality Alien game? Just one. Hell, I'll even take a good Predator game. |

Weekend News Edition
Twitch announces they are going to be cracking down on streamers who do promotional-like streaming but don't disclose their relationship with a company. While the policy has been in place for a while at Twitch, the company decided after constant feedback to do a better enforcement of these rules.
It will also keep the company in compliance with the FCC who has rules against non-disclosing gifts and false advertising. Quote:
