Looking awesome.

Lock Jaw 03-17-2011 11:45 PM

That was a pretty bad Triple H imitation.

Jeritron 03-18-2011 01:48 AM

Why does The Miz look like Rob Terry?

#BROKEN Hasney 03-20-2011 06:09 PM

Demo hitting on 22nd March (23rd for PS3) and will have Ultimate Warrior Vs. Rey Mysterio.

Emperor Smeat 03-21-2011 06:57 PM

Honky Tonk Man revealed as the free DLC wrestler WWE and THQ are giving away after the WWE app promotion ended in success. His DLC character is set to arrive in April.

NICE.

Lock Jaw 03-21-2011 07:09 PM

Still can't fathom this idea of "Downloadable Content" for video games. Seems so futuristic and "weird".

Xero 03-21-2011 07:25 PM

Honky Tonk Man isn't "Very Worth It".

SlickyTrickyDamon 03-21-2011 08:43 PM

Just don't try to play it online unless gamespy is fired and replaced.

It is to me.

Such a funny character, never got his fair share of video games appearances.

I'M COOL, I'M COCKY, I'M BAAAAAD!

I'm going to give you a Shake, Rattle & Roll.

Drakul 03-22-2011 03:02 AM

The first piece of Avatar clothing is up for sale. This "Hulkster" outfit for 240 MSP:

Also, I don't think this has been posted yet:

Drakul 03-22-2011 08:36 AM

The demo is out.

It's ok. Takes a while to get use to but I don't like the way you taunt before you do a finisher, as if the other player will just stand there waiting.

Right. Because the 30 foot vertical leaps gave this away as a realistic simulation.

JimmyMess 03-22-2011 09:18 AM

I was hoping that the DLC was going to be Diesel. But that would be last minute-ish and probably take a while as someone pointed out.

I was talking about player 2 not standing around, not the character.
Going to do Warriors finisher, he'll taunt for 3 or so seconds before trying to grab Rey. Player 2 and even the AI wont just stand there. They'll either attack during the taunt or get out the way.

I could understand having a finisher taunt to activate your finisher like No Mercy but it seems you do an autotaunt everytime you attempt a finisher.

Right, get you now. When you hit a finisher there'll be a taunt before the grab. I thought you meant it was part of the finisher animation.

Is there any way to stun the opponent for that long?

Drakul 03-22-2011 11:38 AM

I have just finished playing the demo again and I've figured out you can press LB + RB to do the finisher taunt whenever you like as long as you have your finisher bar full and it activates it like No Mercy after all. Then you just press LB + RB again when you want to do the finisher.

Also they have more Avatar stuff up but I can't get to see it. There is a Million Dollar Belt, entrance pyro, Austin outfit and Piper outfit. Not sure what else.

Did you check from Game Marketplace or Avatar Marketplace?

They have Paul Bearers urn, Macho Man's outfit with the glasses (crazy hair not included), Jake Roberts snake in a bag, and a few other shirts/costumes.

Xero 03-22-2011 04:58 PM

I really like it. Feels like a game I couldn't play in really long bursts after the "newness" wears off, but it's really enjoyable.

Definitely miles ahead of the stale SvR gameplay. I could even see them adapting this engine to a sim. Obviously with better graphics and slower, less exaggerated gameplay. Or at the very least take some of the concepts, like the way moves transition and flow.

That's honestly the greatest thing about that. While I'm still getting a hang of the controls, the transitions and flow of a match makes it really fun to look at.

And the slow motion doesn't hurt the game nearly as much as I thought. I'd still like to see an option to turn it off, but it isn't really a flow killer like I had expected.

Disturbed316 03-22-2011 05:44 PM

Really enjoyed the demo, wasn't too sure to begin with but its really grown on me, will most likely get this on release. Only thing is I#m not sure how you pick guys up off the mat, when I use LT to pick up it goes into a pin, any ideas?

Drakul 03-23-2011 03:14 AM

I'm having a similar issue with weapons. The game says to move towards the ring and press LT. I do that and I just climb in the ring.

D Mac 03-23-2011 05:19 AM

It's fun. If I didn't owe the IRS 600 bucks I would buy it. :(

I had the same problem. It actually wants you to press the left stick away from the ring and press left trigger.

Drakul 03-23-2011 03:34 PM

Yeah I figured that out after posting that. Not sure why they want us to do that. I thought LT on it's own would have been easier to do.

whiteyford 03-23-2011 04:28 PM

Might rent it, dunno if its a buy, marked out like a lil bitch for Warriors entrance though,

Ultra Mantis 03-23-2011 04:56 PM

Only had a quick go on the demo, found myself trying to use the Smackdown controls and wondering why I was getting my ass kicked. Will probably pick this up cheap somewhere down the line.

JimmyMess 03-23-2011 06:06 PM

I just played the demo. Did 2 player against my brother. I got a total kick out of the game it was hilarious.

I'll actually pick this one up I think. Over-the-top works for moi!

Purgatory 03-23-2011 08:50 PM

I think this is gonna be a great game. Sure, it may not have the depth of SVR, but it's entertaining as hell.

PorkSoda 03-23-2011 09:20 PM

Where do I get the demo? Do I have to buy it at Walmart or something? Or can I get it via XBOX live?

Juan 03-23-2011 09:45 PM

Yeah, go to Wal-Mart

Xero 03-23-2011 10:43 PM

The WalMart demo comes out next week, and is $59.99.

VSG 03-23-2011 10:58 PM

Any idea if this is coming out for PC?

Xero 03-23-2011 11:03 PM

It is not.

VSG 03-23-2011 11:13 PM

:'(

Emperor Smeat 03-23-2011 11:20 PM

No DS version either.

PS2 version probably got ported to the Wii and PSP like how THQ does with the Smackdown vs Raw series.

Screenshots from the PS2 and Wii versions. Not bad at all. Pretty close to the main version of the game thanks to the style.

Can't you download it from Live? I don't own an Xbox so I'm not really sure. But it was just available at the Playstation Store Online for PS3. I assume Xbox has a similar thingy majigger.
