Apparently the players didn't like his training regime or something. Pussies.

Rupert Lowe is a cock sucker, too. Always has been. He talks about media pressure, the stupid fucking cunt encouraged it by basically admitting Sturrock would be gone if he lost the match on Saturday.

Sturrock probably left because he got fed up being treated like shit by an arrogant cock of a chairman.

The Mackem 08-23-2004 10:07 AM

Daft thing is, if he stayed with Plymouth he might have been in the Premiership next season. Plymouth look like the suprise package of Division 1 this season.

Rob Ban Fan 08-23-2004 11:41 AM

<font face=verdana size=3 color="#ff6600">yeah, as ECG said, Lowe has always been a bit of a dickhead and it was him that told the local papers that Sturrock's "honeymoon perioid was over" which lead to all the pressure. Most scummers hate Lowe anyway because they feel he lacks ambition and is very tight when it comes to money. He refused to release an extra few grand to buy Javier De Pedro so they instead had to settle for Neil McCann who was shite. They also blame him for fat boy Beattie wanting to leave.

The timing is stupid too because he's allowed him to spend money over the summer and by the time they appoint anyone new, they're going to be stuck with the current squad until january.</font>

i couldnt believe that game, we were shit 1st half then got back into on half time. scored two fantastic goals then let bergkamp walk through us while we back off. then a daft minute lost us game. always had hope though, it was always going to have another goal before the end - just wished we'd scored the bloody thing.

it would have been good if parlours shot from half way line had gone in to make it 5-4 !

good game to watch for the neutral

Let's not forget Lowe also sacked Dave Jones when he was accused of whatever it was (child molesting was it? :$ ) - not just saying this cause he's now our manager but I couldn't believe that when it happened, particularly since Jones got them to 10th or so one season, which as far as I'm aware is the highest they had finished in the top flight in years until Strachan came along.

Mr. Monday Morning 08-23-2004 01:15 PM

Oh yeah, Blackburn are attempting to sign Morten Gamst Pederson, who is the man in Champ Man.

And Robbie Savage has been charged with elbowing Kezman

Dazz 08-23-2004 02:18 PM

Yeah as soon as Jones was accused of kiddy fiddling he was sacked, they didn't even wait to see if he was guilty or not, which is pretty out of order.

Glad Savage got the ban, he is a cunt, and anyone who says "you only hate him because he is good" is wrong, I hate him because he is a cheating cunt and deserves to be punished more often, he is not better then average.

And wee Gooner, that Mutu and Henry song is shit, Mutu had to be mentioned in the last line.

correct me if i'm wrong, i think when they took the stance of sacking jones, it was to do with child molesting and was in the wake of what happened with greham rix at chelsea. I think jones was cleared of all charges, however soton sacked him for it thinking they were doing the right thing.

I am sure he never left by mutual consent.

El Capitano Gatisto 08-23-2004 02:50 PM

Yeah I checked. He was suspended for 12 months pending the case, then he took Southampton to a tribunal for the suspension, but the tribunal found in favour of the club.

The club had a right to suspend him, but they were kind of transparent in the way that they obviously had no intention of bringing him back whatever the outcome.

yeah i know it means nothing, a few years ago we had a young centre back on our books and let him go as he wasnt good enough, that same person has just joined real madrid for £13.4m!

he may have been injured while on trial, he may have been best player out there, who knows what goes on behind the scenes at clubs. ive only heard good reports though about him so all the best to the lad if he does move to blackburn.

Seems like its just to appease the fans with little thought about our actual current situ - ie we have no defence with Ameobi and Kluivert on the bench.

Unless we play Rooney in defence or ship some strikers out soon its utterly pointless.

Should throw Dyer into the deal - he'd love that.

No, Lampard is as good as ever, people just expect too much of him now, it was his pass out wide to Baba, and it was a good un. He is still the man.

Joe Cole might as well fuck off if he doesn't realise that they are ten other people on his team. Granted he has skill, but not as much as he thinks.

im loving the way bill kenwright at everton is trying to say it's up to david moyles if rooney leaves.

El Capitano Gatisto 08-26-2004 09:13 AM

I don't think Everton fans are stupid enough to believe that it's down to either Moyes or the board.

It's down to Wayne Rooney, in the end. He should do the decent thing and either request a transfer and forfeit his loyalty bonus, or come out and pledge his loyalty.

He's had all summer to do it. Now he's left Everton in a position where they'll have no time to re-invest his transfer fee.

Doink 08-26-2004 11:05 AM

Moyes has said over and over that not only doesn't he want to see Rooney, he'd rather sell players to raise money if it meant keeping him. So you know if Rooney leaves, it wasn't due to Moyes.

Champions League group drawing

Group A
Olympiakos
Liverpool
AS Monaco
Deportivo La Coruna

Group B
Real Madrid
AS Roma
Bayer Leverkusen
Dinamo Kiev

Group C
Bayern Munich
Juventus
Ajax
Maccabi Tel Aviv

Group D
Manchester United
Lyon
Sparta Prague
Fenerbahce

Group E
Arsenal
Panathinaikos
PSV Eindhoven
Rosenborg

Group F
Barcelona
AC Milan
Celtic
Shakhtar Donetsk

Group G
Valencia
Inter Milan
Anderlecht
Werder Bremen

Group H
FC Porto
Chelsea
Paris St Germain
CSKA Moscow

Pretty good draw for Liverpool, Monaco won't be the same without Morientes (though still a good team) and Deportivo had to struggle against Shelbourne to get through. If they play to their potential they should go through.

Real vs Roma, Walter Samuel back against his former club

Bayern, Juve and Ajax in the same group  At least one big team will be out by the end of the group stages.

Pretty straightforward group for Man United and Arsenal, can't see too many problems there.

Tough break for Celtic, though they did beat Barcelona at the Nou Camp last year, and Milan aren't invincible either. Larsson playing against his old club

Valencia and Inter should get out of G pretty easily

Mourinho going back against Porto :D

Rob 08-26-2004 04:07 PM

Abramovic owns Chelsea and CSKA Moscow and they are in the same group.

Dazz 08-26-2004 04:18 PM

Porto are now shit, they are not going past the group stage, and thats a garundamntee.

I swear their must be some unknown law from UEFA that either Panathonikos or Olympiakos must play an English team in the group stages, its always the case. (Unless I have a bad memory)

El Capitano Gatisto 08-26-2004 04:21 PM

Balls. Porto are still a quality outfit. Made a couple of great signings this summer. Carvalho is a big loss, but the guts of that team still remains, plus they now have Diego.

Dazz 08-26-2004 04:32 PM

Deigo as in the Brazilian? Fuck me I am well behind with the times.

I don't think Carvalho was a big loss, I didn't think he was that good in Euro 2004, Andrelade is MUCH better, he made Carvalho look better then he is. Ferrairia is better then Carvalho. And they have lost Deco too, and if you don't think that Mourinho was a huge factor in Porto winning the Champions League then you are wrong. They wont amount to shit without him.

El Capitano Gatisto 08-26-2004 04:34 PM

Carvalho is fucking brilliant. Best signing Chelsea made. I've been a fan of Carvalho's for a couple of seasons now. He is in the elite of the world's defenders. Andrade is great too, alright, but Carvalho has it all.

And Porto pulled off the signing of Diego from Santos. I think he'll turn out better than Deco. I don't think Porto will challenge for the tournament again, but they'll be tough to beat.

Dazz 08-26-2004 04:36 PM

Yeah me and Mask often look out for Deigo when he played for Santos, and he was pretty good whenever I saw him. He will be the man.

El Capitano Gatisto 08-26-2004 04:46 PM

UEFA are to investigate possible links between Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich and Russian side CSKA Moscow after both clubs were drawn in the same group of the Champions League.

European football's governing body will look into a £30million three-year sponsorship deal with CSKA announced earlier this year by Sibneft, the Russian oil giant in which Abramovich holds the majority shareholding.

UEFA communications director William Gaillard told the Press Association: "We are going to look into it and see whether there is a controlling interest by Mr Abramovich with two teams in the same group."

He added: "We have to find out whether it is a controlling interest or not. We may already have the facts to decide to dismiss it as a problem but it has to be looked into thoroughly."

Abramovich is a close friend of CSKA president Yevgeny Giner and was a guest in his personal VIP box in Moscow on two occasions earlier this year.

Under current regulations, no person is allowed a controlling interest in two clubs playing in the same competition but UEFA will have to decide whether the sponsorship deal counts as any conflict of interest.

Chelsea issued a statement in a bid to refute any suggestion of a conflict of interest for Abramovich.

"Chelsea is certain that UEFA and any other clubs in the Champions League should be completely unconcerned by this matter," the statement read.

"The situation is very clear. Mr. Abramovich is the owner of Chelsea Football Club while Sibneft, a company in which he is one of many shareholders, is the shirt sponsor of CSKA Moscow.

"Mr Abramovich has no equity stake or any direct financial interest in CSKA."

The Mask 08-27-2004 04:18 AM

apparently bellion might be a makeshift in the rooney deal

it's strange being a united fan, one minute you're down in the dumps, and the next they sell forlan, and swap bellion avec cash for rooney.

Now we just need a better midfield.

It's a shame really, cause giggs keane scholes and beckham a few years ago was the best midfield in the world, and I always thought that. Swap Beckham for Ronaldo and it'd still be great minus the creativity. Only thing is Keane's winding down now and he isn't the player he once was, and Giggs doesn't seem to give a fuck half the time.

Rooney demands transfer.

Guess he'l be a Man U player by the weekend with apparently either Kleberson or Bellion going the other way.

What Ferguson ever saw in Bellion is beyond me. I remember he came on when we beat Sunderland at home which i was at and was the worst player I'd ever seen. We cheered his every touch.

Then Man U were interested :|

He wouldn't get in the current Sunderland side I swear.

United don't need Rooney what they need are 4 non-carthorse/crackhead defenders.

Ferguson can't play Rooney, Smith, Saha and Van Nistelrooy in the same line up. United will (if they sign Rooney) end up like Real Madrid last season.

They'll also have two of the most hypocritical players in the league in their team in Rooney and Smith. I hate all this badge-kissing I love the club bullshit.

I think United will be more like the 98/99 season, when they had Cole, Yorke, Solskjaer and Sheringham. Top teams need 4 world class strikers, not to mention that Rooney is 18 anyway, so if they let him get away now, they may not get an opportunity to sign him in the future. See Alan Shearer scenario.

Besides, Newcastle have even more strikers: Ameobi, Bellamy, Kluivert, Shearer

And they really need a couple of defenders.

And the interest in Bellion came from him going to the same football academy as Anelka, Henry, Saha etc. which is well known for producing class players.

Some more transfers and rumours doing the rounds:

-Everton to sign Djimi Traore from Liverpool for £1.5m (I'm sure Sid is laughing his ass off at that one)

-Arsenal said to be interested in signing Valencia's Migel Angulo

-Citeh said to be interested in signing Mido from Marseille after Wanchope completes his move to Malaga

-Celtic have apparently failed in a loan bid for Saviola

Saviola's off to Monaco

So much for Rooney loving Everton. I really don't see the point in wasting 25 million pounds on a player who is far from the finished article. Smith, Saha and Ruud are all much better players plus Solskjaer who is one of the most natural finishers in the game. The only way I see this working is if Fergie tries to develop Smith into a midfielder.

Wengerland 08-27-2004 01:50 PM

haha the tribunal for Gareth Williams ordered us to pay £500,000 with some add ons about promotion and the like.We offered them £750,000 in the summer but they turned it down :o Mind you he has been crap so far.

:( @ Wolves probably having Lescott and Murray back tomorrow. They could also be getting this South Korean forward.

Moonax 08-27-2004 02:09 PM

Mind you with Rooney, Smith and Keane the red cards should keep on coming.

I guess you do need 4 strikers if 2 of them are going to spend most of their time suspended/being sucked off by skanky Scouse whores.

How is Smith a hypocrite? He did everything he could for Leeds and openingly admitted he was leaving if they went down. He never said who he was or wasn't signing for and since he came to United, he hasn't kissed our badge.

Moonax 08-27-2004 04:36 PM

If he loved the club as much as he says he does then why did he not stay and try to help the club win promotion? He didn't, he left as soon as he could in search of a big fat pay day.
