Rumors of a Stargate reboot movie turning into a possible trilogy. If it encompasses SG1, SGA and SGU in some capacity or at least stay true to the history we've already seen and pretty much answers most of our questions by the end then I'm all for it. If not then I'd rather they reboot SGU.

I've noticed Genesis features an even larger foreign cast than Salvation. Either Hollywood is way more diverse now or it's a conscious decision by the people behind it.

Reason for the high goals is because the group wants to make it available on a variety of devices and also let schools have access to the content for free.

Sony currently in talks with Jordan Vogt-Roberts to become the director for a potential Metal Gear Solid film. Sony's been wanting a film made for the past 8 years but it never got beyond some early planning.

The story begins in the heart of the African savannah, as Kion, the second-born cub of Simba and Nala, assembles a team of his close friends to preserve the Pride Lands. The show will also include special appearances by Mufasa, Timon, Pumbaa, Rafiki, Zazu and Kion’s older sister, Kiara, the future Queen of the Pride Lands. The show will focus on conservation education, the importance of family and community, while also highlighting creative problem-solving skills and diversity.

Consultants from the Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida will serve as advisors on The Lion Guard stories, while author and Swahili expert, Sarah Mirza, will serve as language and cultural advisor.

Wonder how they're gonna explain the Terminator growing old.

Lock Jaw 06-30-2014 06:35 PM

Its a reboot, so it doesn't matter.

They just built it to look older in this continuity.

Sixx 06-30-2014 06:40 PM

A reboot? Blah.

Thought it was just a sequel.

Sixx 06-30-2014 06:44 PM

Moviehole likens the film's time-travel effects to Back to the Future II, and Schwarzenegger's character to Leonard Nimoy's Old Spock in Star Trek (2009).

Pffffft

Lock Jaw 06-30-2014 06:45 PM

At least I think it is a reboot.... Sarah Connor is alive....

Sixx 06-30-2014 06:50 PM

Dunno, that article I just linked is pretty confusing about whether it's a remake or not.

It also says they're gonna include some scenes of T-1000 from Terminator 2 as well as Sarah Connor's killing spree, which seems kind of weird.

Lock Jaw 06-30-2014 06:58 PM

Reading more about it....

SPOILER: show
In those pics, that is Sarah Connor and Kyle Reese.... both seem to be in some sort of hospital.... dude in the suit with his back turned is supposedly John Connor... so it looks like John Connor will be traveling through time as well. Will probably have multiple timelines and confusing time travel things going on.

Kalyx triaD 06-30-2014 07:20 PM

Arnold actually explained why his unit is older. He also explained that because of the nature of the franchise, it is not a reboot per se. Every Terminator movie or TV show is 'canon'.

No. Not familiar with it. What is it?

Jura 07-02-2014 09:55 PM

There seems to be this new subscription based shopping method going around. In the case of Loot Crate I guess you pay x amount per month and they send you a box with geek/gamer goodies for each month that you've paid for. There's another site where you pay a subscription and a stylist picks out clothes for you each month. Kind of weird but it's cool for whoever is in to it.

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/ftZR7VM9m3M?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

I've seen a lot of videos on it lately so I wondered if anyone here has subscribed.

Kalyx triaD 07-02-2014 10:02 PM

Not at all cool with people 'guessing' what I want that month. I stopped listening to the radio and watching TV for just that reason. Seems kinda backward. Like, in another timeline/universe we'd have done this first before evolving to current shopping methods (the crazy notion of buying exactly what you want). I'm also betting a fee is taken out of the monthly payment and actual purchases are inexpensive to maintain revenue. Unnecessary middleman really. Just strange all around.

Back to the Terminator reboot/sequel thing. My brother and I were talking about it, and I told him about the "living tissue" gimmick they're running with for Arnold, and he brought up the idea that it would have been cooler to have him be an original resistance member, only to eventually be captured, held hostage/killed and used as the model for the next gen terminators.

Kalyx triaD 07-08-2014 10:28 PM

The first image from Ridley Scott’s Halo: Nightfall has appeared online, offering a look at the newest Spartan on the block Agent Locke.

The image was posted online by Variety (has since been taken down) and features actor Mike Colter (The Good Wife and The Following). It was originally believed that Colter would play a character called Marlow, but multiple sources have since confirmed that he will play the role of Spartan Agent Locke, who will also appear in Halo 5: Guardians on Xbox One.

Locke will play a key role in Halo 5, and Nightfall is designed to tell his origin story so players have an idea of who the character is when he appears in the game, according to 343 Industries studio head Bonnie Ross.

Jim Carrey (The Riddler, Batman Forever)
Tom Wilkinson (Carmine Falcone, Batman Begins)
Kirsten Dunst (Mary Jane Watson, Spider-Man trilogy)
Mark Ruffalo (Bruce Banner/Hulk, Avengers)
Elijah Wood (Kevin, Sin City)

It'd probably be a film with a huge ensemble cast. After a few minutes of thought I came up with

American Hustle (5)
Christian Bale (Batman)
Bradley Cooper (Guardians of the Galaxy)
Amy Adams (Man of steel)
Jennifer Lawrence (X-men)
Jeremy Renner (Avengers)

Lotr (6)
Ian McKellan (X-men)
Elijah Wood (Sin City)
Liv Tyler (The Incredible Hulk)
Dominic Monaghan (X-men origins)
Karl Urban (Dredd)
Hugo Weaving (Captain America)

Pulp Fiction (6)
John Travolta (The Punisher)
Sam Jackson (Avengers etc)
Bruce Willis (Sin City)
Uma Thurman (Batman and Robin)
Tim Roth (The Incredible Hulk)
Christopher Walken (Batman Returns)

Good trivia question though

Nice work, gents.

ESotSM has like a cast of 10 people though. That's a pretty high percentage.

Next film in the Resident Evil series called Resident Evil: The Final Chapter got pushed back from a possible 2015 release to now a 2016 release date.

Quote:

Resident Evil film star Milla Jovovich was all set to fly to Cape Town, South Africa to film the newest iteration in the franchise, but something unexpectedly came up. She and her director husband found out that they are expecting their second child, and "after a lot of discussion" the decision was made to put the movie on hold -- you know, since she'd have to do stunts and a lot of physical work.

EVERY. SIMPSONS. EVER.

Starts Tomorrow at 10am.

12 days of Simpsons.

Dark-Slicer Diago 08-21-2014 08:09 AM

I wish I could see them all, but I can't since I haven't had FXX in little over a year now.

Juan 08-23-2014 01:58 AM

I cleared a bunch of space on my DVR for the Simpsons marathon only to find that I no longer get the FXX channel :-\

A&E cancelled Longmire after 3 seasons. Channel is now dead to me.

Hopefully Netflix picks it up.

The forthcoming movie based on Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed series has been delayed a year into 2016, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Originally set for an August 7, 2015 release, the movie has suffered multiple script rewrites and “scheduling issues” says the report.

Set to star Michael Fassbender and possibly Robert Downey Jr, it was originally confirmed way back in 2012.

So apparently a sci-fi live action Tetris film is currently being made.

Quote:

Mega entertainment company Threshold Entertainment has the green light from The Tetris Company to create a live-action Tetris movie. That alone is crazy. But Larry Kasanoff and Jimmy Ienner are planning on turning the puzzle game into a "sci-fi epic." Yeah.

"Everyone knows that Tetris is one of the best known, most beloved brands in the world," said Kasanoff. "What everyone doesn't know yet is this epic sci-fi story that we’re going to tell. That's what's really exciting."
