Before extended cut: I had a 5000 strength and 100 percent gallatic readiness and still didn't get that final scene with Sheppard.

Haven't tried the extended cut. Don't really want to go the multiplayer again to make it high enough.

Really liked all of the endings. I think refusal was awesome even though of what happened at the end of it. Sheppard giving a big fuck you to all the bullshit. I think people will choose that one and be a little bit disappointed , but they did ask for other endings.

I guess synthesis is still the best ending? Sort of blows holes in the Sheppard is indoctrinated idea.

Next DLC called "Earth" set for a July 17 release on the Xbox 360 with the PC and PS3 getting it at a later date. The DLC itself is free, contains 3 new maps, and 6 new classes.
http://www.egmnow.com/articles/news/...-for-xbox-360/

The rumored "Leviathan" DLC pack accidentally was confirmed by one of the voice actors during an interview he had with Eurogamer. This is the same rumored DLC that was initially discovered to be a possibility due to some extra data files from the Extended Cut DLC pack.
SPOILER: show

Quote:

The add-on, set before Mass Effect 3′s ending, will centre on a traitorous Reaper named Leviathan.

Leviathan has been separated from the rest of the Reaper forces after killing one of its own kind.

Shepard meets Skordi’s character after being sent to rescue scientist Ann Brynson. She’s being held at the Reaper-indoctrinated mining facility that Leviathan controls.

Swiss Ultimate 07-11-2012 05:28 PM

I officially enjoy the refusal ending.

The Rogerer 07-12-2012 09:26 AM

I wasn't even offered synthesis when I first played. I feel fairly unmotivated to play ME3 again so I think that means that it officially never happened, since I am the master of reality.

Swiss Ultimate 07-12-2012 09:31 AM

That's actually a good point. Also, if you stopped playing and broke the game I think that would count as destroying the universe.

Emperor Smeat 08-08-2012 05:18 PM

Endings might be getting tweaked again based on some rumors involving the Leviathan and future "Omega" DLC packs.

Its rumored to not be drastic changes but offers a bit more in dialogue and stuff in regards to the overall ending.

Apparently the fan base is furious again this time after Bioware released a joke photo showing a My Little Pony character in Shepard's suit.

It got soo bad that a certain portion of the fan base is protesting the series or claiming they are selling their Mass Effect 3 game as a result even though the joke has nothing to do with the game.

Bioware on their part ignored the people who were complaining and unliking their page stating they can't dictate everything the company does or attack the comm8unity the moment something they don't like is done for others.

Leviathan DLC pack will arrive on August 28 for Xbox 360, PS3, anc PC except in Europe where just the PS3 version is pushed back a day to August 29.

Couldn't agree more. Too many butthurt whiners taking shit way too seriously and blowing things way out of proportion. It's a fucking game meant for your entertainment. If you're not entertained, then don't buy their shit anymore.

Kane Knight 08-29-2012 05:51 PM

So with Gamestop (and therefore, I'm presuming other retailers) dropping the price on this to 20 bucks, is it worth it for just the multiplayer?

I don't really give a shit about the story anymore. I didn't make it through 2 and probably never will. But the multi looked fun.

Also, since I am posting here....

The multiplayer is pretty fun, especially if you have some buddies with you.

ClockShot 08-29-2012 07:14 PM

Agreed. Multiplayer is fun. Got better with the maps and new weapons.

And as Verbose said, even much better with buddies, cause communication is key.

The only drawback is that you may need some microsoft points handy, in case you want that gear box that's out of your reach.

Ermaximus 08-29-2012 07:30 PM

Gear isn't an issue for me. I can't seem to unlock any of the damned N7 characters other than the Demolisher.

Bioware revealed the next weekend challenge called Operation Vigilance which lasts from September 7 till September 9.

Quote:

According to BioWare, “Unexpected attacks have taken out several squads and damaged vital Alliance equipment. We will deploy drones to repair damage and investigate the nature of these attacks.” The goals and rewards are below:

Squad Goal: Complete up to and including wave 10 on any difficulty without using a consumable (medi-gel, ammo, Ops pack or Cobra missile launcher).

Allied Goal: Complete 250,000 escort missions on any difficulty.

Special Circumstance: None

Squad Goal Success: All individual players awarded a Commendation Pack
Allied Goal Success: All players awarded a Victory Pack

ClockShot 09-07-2012 06:54 PM

Just played Leviathan. I enjoyed it, and it was worth the points.

It's got some length to it which was cool. Wasn't like an hour long mission on a single planet. There's also some more exploring and war assets to pick up. But...

SPOILER: show
You are on a ferry between the citadel and the mission planets. Get info from Citadel, go to planet, go back to citadel for more info. Kinda got lame after 2nd run.

alvarado52 09-17-2012 03:28 AM

Realized something today while texting a friend about Leviathan

SPOILER: show
So the Leviathans state that they created the first Reaper, the first being Harbinger, and that Harbinger created the others from the harvast, but the Catalyst kid states that HE/IT created the Reapers to bring order to chaos.

So i was kind of irritated that the DLC contradicts the ending, but then i realized that if you choose the refusal ending, the Catalyst says 'so be it' in what kind of seems like Harbingers voice...

....so basically, the Catalyst is Harbinger? Which sorta feeds into the indoctrination theory with the main points of it being the destroy choice is shown as renegade to degree (red color, Anderson being the bad guy) and Control being Paragon (blue color, Illusive Man) from what you would think the Reapers perspective would be on the choices, as well as the reaction of control (smile) and destroy (quickly disappears) from the Catalyst.

Thoughts?

Omega DLC in the Fall and a new Mass Effect game. Huzzah!

Emperor Smeat 10-05-2012 05:50 PM

According to EA and Bioware, the Retaliation DLC pack which arrives for free next week will be the largest multiplayer pack for the game so far.

Quote:

* New “Hazard” Versions of Existing Maps – Wage war across six maps as a regular rotation of Firebases will be introduced to different hazards and traps. Survive the onslaught of Acid, Lightening, Meltdowns, Sandstorms, Swarms and Whiteouts!
* New Deadly Enemy Faction – Prepare to face off against the Collector Praetorian, Scion, Abomination, Trooper, and Captain. Reports have also come in that Cerberus has enlisted the Dragoon to their ranks and the Geth are deploying new Drones to the battlefield.
* New Unlockable Weapons – The Collectors have also brought deadly new weapons to the fight: the Collector Assault Rifle, Sub-Machine Gun, and Sniper Rifle. Unlock these weapons and new equipment upgrades to build to your arsenal.
* New Class Kits to Unlock – A host of new characters have joined the war to fight this new threat, including the Turian Havoc Soldier and Turian Ghost Infiltrator. Additional class kits will be added as the weeks progress.
* New Powerful Upgrades – Outfit your weapons with three new ammo modifications and fortify your gear with five unique upgrades to defeat even the toughest foes.
* New Multiplayer Challenge Feature – Think you are the best soldier in the Alliance? Make sure to track your progress in the new “Challenges” database. Complete various multiplayer assignments and feats of strength to unlock titles and banners to display in-game, and then compare your progress against your friends.
The trailer for the pack was also released.

Overall. Just visit the war room before you go to cerberus.

Remember, 50% is single player choices, exploration, etc. The other 50% is multiplayer.

ClockShot 11-27-2012 05:33 PM

Omega got released at 1200 points today. Normally I'd jump on this, but since I'm tied up with A.C. 3, Hitman: Absolution after that, and Far Cry 3 coming out next week, I'm gonna put this off for the forseeable future.

Anybody who gets this, lemme know if it's worth it down the road.

Frank Drebin 11-27-2012 07:09 PM

Prolly halfway through. Its pretty cool for now, no major decisions yet. Lair of the Shadow Broker is still the best of the DLCs by far.

Frank Drebin 11-27-2012 09:43 PM

Done. Its good. Not great. Longer than Leviathan, no major decisions, fun to play, nothing added to the Mass Effect mithos that I can tell. More ME is fun but nothing earth shattering here.....wait for a markdown.

Details of the last piece of DLC for Mass Effect 3 "Citadel" got released today. It's a big piece of dlc, that it surpasses Microsoft's limit of 2GB max of dlc, and it's gotta get downloaded in 2 parts.

Here's a bit of info from one of Bioware's community forum managers.

Quote:

“When a sinister conspiracy targets Commander Shepard, you and your team must uncover the truth, through battles and intrigue that range from the glamour of the Citadel’s Wards to the top-secret Council Archives. Uncover the truth and fight alongside your squad – as well as the cast from the original Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2.

“When the adventure is over, reconnect with your favourite characters from the Mass Effect Trilogy, try your luck at the Citadel’s Silver Coast Casino, blow off steam in the Armax Combat Arena, or explore and furnish Shepard’s own living quarters on the Citadel.

“With unique content and cinematics featuring your friends and romance interests in the Mass Effect trilogy, Mass Effect 3: Citadel offers one final chance to see the characters you have known for years and rekindle romances.”
It hits the marketplace March 5th and will set you back 1200 MSP ($15).

And if you're still keep up with the multiplayer, the free DLC Reckoning drops on February 25th.

Frank Drebin 02-22-2013 04:17 PM

Yup, going to be a sucker and get it. Seems like a lot of bells and whistles and things that might add to the lore of ME (secret council archives). The citadel might be the shadow brokers ship from me2. Too invested in the series to not get this and give it one last go round despite the ending.

Ermaximus 02-22-2013 05:26 PM

Hoping to be able to convince 2 love interests into a threesome in this. :y:

Raven Reaper 03-04-2013 08:44 PM

One of the comments from the video said that mission on Citadel should be started BEFORE attacking Illusive Man's HQ and you only do it AFTER the Cerberus/Udina coup attempt on it.

So far, my savegame replays are currently AFTER the Udina/Ceberus takeover Citadel and I'm still doing Liara's investigation of the missing Asari Colony before the war on Thessia.. Should be interesting if I played this DLC before it happens..

Thane and Mordin dies yes, but you'll get to see KOLYAT, Thane's son based on that trailer... I hope Legion shows up in this DLC BEFORE he dies doing his mission to rewrite the geth with Tali via Reaper Code uploading stuff. :(

Just gotta a little more info on this. The Citadel DLC opens up after the Priority Citadel 2 mission.

But they suggest going all the way up to the final assault mission at Cerberus HQ so you can meet all your old squadmates THEN starting the DLC so you get the full effect of said DLC.

I guess I worded that right, you'll figure it out.

Omega on Insanity wasn't that bad, until the ending bit.

ClockShot 03-09-2013 08:28 PM

Yeah, the end was a bit dicey.

But the thing is, I did Leviathan on normal, Omega on insanity. Might as well do Omega & Citadel on normal and get everything done in one shot.

So this is a 70s cheese DLC, or...

ClockShot 03-12-2013 05:37 PM

So I got through part 1 of the Citadel DLC, which was the mission. Not great, but not bad. A little in between. But the dialogue between your squadmates got a few laughs out of me.

It's the 2nd half I'm enjoying right now. Really what's selling the DLC at the moment.

After beating Mass Effect on my old XBOX years ago, starting fresh on Mass Effect 2, I have reached Mass Effect 3 last night.

My next play through will be with a Shepard that is completed 1-3 style.

3 seems out of control in a good way, I look forward to closing out this awesome trilogy that I delayed for so long.

Miotch 03-15-2013 06:50 PM

The ending fucking sucks, but the rest of the game is great.

Just finished citadel. Yup. So bittersweet.....

Raven Reaper 03-16-2013 12:22 AM

I think I'm one of the minorities who never gave a single fuck about the plothole filled endings. Really enjoyed it that much. Sometimes, not everyone can have a happily ever after type of ending cos I know some people who dislikes happy endings to movies and still likes endings that have questions left to make viewers ponder it.

Heisenberg 03-20-2013 03:08 PM

Kind of miss my Space Hamster from ME2.

Tommy Gunn 03-20-2013 07:26 PM

I marked out when I found my space hamster running loose in the lower decks in Mass Effect 3.

Pretty renegade of them

Frank Drebin 03-24-2013 10:13 PM

Goodbye Mass Effect. You were everything I wanted in a game. Ballsy move by making a choose your own adventure go across three games. Man, the ending cinematic after ME2 was intense.

I hate your ending to the third game so much, but the adventure was so damn fun. Never had an experience like it, and I doubt I ever will again. Goodbye, my friend.

Fignuts 10-28-2013 03:39 PM

Finally played this. Like ME2, I waited for all the DLC to hit first.

As I said in the other thread, this is pretty much now my favorite series this console generation. I don't really get the hate for this third game. Granted, I did play it with the extended cut ending, but regardless, to me Mass Effect has never been about the ending, but the journey leading to it.

In fact, ME is a rare occurance where I took the game at a slow pace. Not that I really rush through other games, but I'm always thinking about the ending. In ME I was so enamored with the world Bioware created that it forced me to sit back and savor every little moment and mission.

I think a lot of what made this series special for me was the characters. They're all so unique and interesting, and they have brilliant chemistry together. That combined with utterly fantastic voice acting leads to a cast that feels like old friends by the third game. I don't think I've ever felt as invested in a group of characters, not in a game, tv show, book or anything, as I have been with this cast.

Going to do it all over again, this time as a mean, ruthless, biotic uber-bitch.

Fignuts 10-28-2013 03:43 PM

I would like to have a beer with Garrus more than I would with a large portion of my real life friends.

Sad and pathetic or a testament to how well Bioware can put together a character?

EXACTLY! I have said that numerous times. The original ending wasnt even bad by any means, it just didnt elaborate as well on what happens to the characters afterwards.

All the moaning and bitching about the ending of the game and all your decisions not making a difference was ridiculous. All your decisions mattered in that game, and shaped your missions, and most importantly, your relationships...the ending was going to be how Bioware wanted.

Without your decisions and interactions during the story, the player would not have grown attached to these characters, and as you put it, make them feel like old friends that you genuinely missed having around.

Fignuts 10-28-2013 03:51 PM

Maybe it's because with all the backlash, I expected the worst, and when the moment finally came it didn't seem so bad. Maybe pre extended cut was a lot worse.

Like I said, for me the series was all about the road to the ending, not the end itself. I knew before ME3 even came out, that the end, no matter how good couldn't live up to the experience leading up to it.

Absolutely the best thing I've ever heard regarding this game and this series. I still don't understand how so many people can be so butthurt over 3 minutes of gameplay rather than be thankful for the over 120 hours that lead to that point. Stop being so self entitled you bunch of bitches. Stop being Owen.

RoXer 10-28-2013 04:36 PM

It's not entitlement to expect a coherent ending to 120 hours of gameplay.

Fignuts 10-28-2013 11:19 PM

Seemed perfectly coherent to me, if a little complicated. Just lacked closure for specific characters.

I've never been someone who needs complete closure at the end as long as the story itself is good.

Frank Drebin 10-29-2013 01:03 PM

The ending was piss poor. They left alot on the table (remember the whispers of dark matter and that sun prematurely dying in ME2?) and alot of stuff didn't make sense (Why was the star child the same kid Shep had been seeing in his dreams?)

The decisions that were given such gravity in ME1/2 never really came to fruition. You could have killed the Rachni Queen in ME1 and it would have done little other than a few diologue changes and a few less war points in ME3. The Genophase? They spent alot of time on that leaving you hand-wringing on what to do. After all that, all you got was one of two pictures to give you any kind of hint as to what happens with the Krogan race, and that was only in the extended cut. Keeping the Collector Base or Destroying it? No effect whatsoever.

The makers said they didn't want to punish people for making certain choices, but we made them having a pretty good idea which were "good" or "bad" for business if you will. Like alot of people, I made both a paragon and renegade to see what all the differences would lead to. I WANTED TO BE PUNISHED FOR MAKING RENEGADE CHOICES!

Did it ruin the entire series? Yes and no. No in that it was indeed a great ride (saying its all in the journey and not the ending is bullshit for this kind of series and medium) and I was on the edge of my seat the whole time save for the last part. Yes, in that if we had gotten an ending we were due, I would be going all the way back to ME1 to do it all over again because it would have been the be all end all of story telling. Now, they are just going to gather dust and I'm done with them all.

It's such a shame that they rushed Mass Effect 3 out, if any game needed another 6 months of development it was this one. Adding a slideshow in the EC didn't really satisfy me, although I liked it more than the bare-bones ending.

I hope Mass Effect 4 get's to stay in development until it's properly cooked all the way through. Bugs I can deal with, but forgetting to put an ending in is bullshit.

Keep going back to this now and again. This is one of those games (all 3 of them tbh) that I would LOVE to see get the next gen remake treatment. Bonus if they included the multiplayer, which was damn good for being tossed together.

This is my favorite thread on the Citadel.

Commander Shepard's Cutscenes pistol still remains the most devastating weapon in history. Plus it also took down the most feared enemy ever...

Murauder Shields.

Apparently a remaster of the trilogy is slated to release 2021, and a new game in the ME universe is also being made:
