Before extended cut: I had a 5000 strength and 100 percent gallatic readiness and still didn't get that final scene with Sheppard.
Haven't tried the extended cut. Don't really want to go the multiplayer again to make it high enough. Really liked all of the endings. I think refusal was awesome even though of what happened at the end of it. Sheppard giving a big fuck you to all the bullshit. I think people will choose that one and be a little bit disappointed , but they did ask for other endings. I guess synthesis is still the best ending? Sort of blows holes in the Sheppard is indoctrinated idea. |

Next DLC called "Earth" set for a July 17 release on the Xbox 360 with the PC and PS3 getting it at a later date. The DLC itself is free, contains 3 new maps, and 6 new classes.
http://www.egmnow.com/articles/news/...-for-xbox-360/ The rumored "Leviathan" DLC pack accidentally was confirmed by one of the voice actors during an interview he had with Eurogamer. This is the same rumored DLC that was initially discovered to be a possibility due to some extra data files from the Extended Cut DLC pack. SPOILER: show http://www.egmnow.com/articles/news/...y-voice-actor/ |
I officially enjoy the refusal ending.
|
I wasn't even offered synthesis when I first played. I feel fairly unmotivated to play ME3 again so I think that means that it officially never happened, since I am the master of reality.
|
That's actually a good point. Also, if you stopped playing and broke the game I think that would count as destroying the universe.
|
Endings might be getting tweaked again based on some rumors involving the Leviathan and future "Omega" DLC packs.
Its rumored to not be drastic changes but offers a bit more in dialogue and stuff in regards to the overall ending. http://www.screwattack.com/news/rumo...ng-just-little |

Apparently the fan base is furious again this time after Bioware released a joke photo showing a My Little Pony character in Shepard's suit.
It got soo bad that a certain portion of the fan base is protesting the series or claiming they are selling their Mass Effect 3 game as a result even though the joke has nothing to do with the game. Bioware on their part ignored the people who were complaining and unliking their page stating they can't dictate everything the company does or attack the comm8unity the moment something they don't like is done for others. http://a4.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...80538800_n.jpg http://www.screwattack.com/news/biow...ne-communities Leviathan DLC pack will arrive on August 28 for Xbox 360, PS3, anc PC except in Europe where just the PS3 version is pushed back a day to August 29. http://www.egmnow.com/articles/news/...n-late-august/ |
So no news on the extra scene of Shepard and Tali on Rannoch happily ever after yet?
DAMN! |
Jesus Christ.
"Gamers" need to grow the fuck up. |

So with Gamestop (and therefore, I'm presuming other retailers) dropping the price on this to 20 bucks, is it worth it for just the multiplayer?
I don't really give a shit about the story anymore. I didn't make it through 2 and probably never will. But the multi looked fun. Also, since I am posting here.... Quote:

Agreed. Multiplayer is fun. Got better with the maps and new weapons.
And as Verbose said, even much better with buddies, cause communication is key. The only drawback is that you may need some microsoft points handy, in case you want that gear box that's out of your reach. |
Gear isn't an issue for me. I can't seem to unlock any of the damned N7 characters other than the Demolisher.
|
Bioware revealed the next weekend challenge called Operation Vigilance which lasts from September 7 till September 9.

Just played Leviathan. I enjoyed it, and it was worth the points.
It's got some length to it which was cool. Wasn't like an hour long mission on a single planet. There's also some more exploring and war assets to pick up. But... SPOILER: show |
|
Omega DLC in the Fall and a new Mass Effect game. Huzzah!
|
According to EA and Bioware, the Retaliation DLC pack which arrives for free next week will be the largest multiplayer pack for the game so far.

Multiplayer really is pretty fun, but I wish that the controls were better. Sorta plays like a second rate GoW.

Overall or your final ground assault troop count? |
Overall. Just visit the war room before you go to cerberus.
Remember, 50% is single player choices, exploration, etc. The other 50% is multiplayer. |
Omega got released at 1200 points today. Normally I'd jump on this, but since I'm tied up with A.C. 3, Hitman: Absolution after that, and Far Cry 3 coming out next week, I'm gonna put this off for the forseeable future.
Anybody who gets this, lemme know if it's worth it down the road. |
Prolly halfway through. Its pretty cool for now, no major decisions yet. Lair of the Shadow Broker is still the best of the DLCs by far.
|
Done. Its good. Not great. Longer than Leviathan, no major decisions, fun to play, nothing added to the Mass Effect mithos that I can tell. More ME is fun but nothing earth shattering here.....wait for a markdown.

Details of the last piece of DLC for Mass Effect 3 "Citadel" got released today. It's a big piece of dlc, that it surpasses Microsoft's limit of 2GB max of dlc, and it's gotta get downloaded in 2 parts.
Here's a bit of info from one of Bioware's community forum managers. Quote:
And if you're still keep up with the multiplayer, the free DLC Reckoning drops on February 25th. |
Yup, going to be a sucker and get it. Seems like a lot of bells and whistles and things that might add to the lore of ME (secret council archives). The citadel might be the shadow brokers ship from me2. Too invested in the series to not get this and give it one last go round despite the ending.
|
Hoping to be able to convince 2 love interests into a threesome in this. :y:
|
Citadel is going to be almost 4GB.
|
Grabbed this over at xbox360achievements.org
It's a preview of tomorrow's release of Citadel. <iframe id="viddler-ba7b667" height="349" src="//www.viddler.com/embed/ba7b667/?f=1&offset=0&autoplay=0&secret=41025270&disablebranding=0&view_secret=41025270" frameBorder="0" width="545" webkitallowfullscreen="true" mozallowfullscreen="true"></iframe> |
The group photo is gonna be EPIC! I'm sure Shep will keep that in his cabin and view it at his final goodbye for the Reaper attack.. And who're those "new" people the woman's trying to warn him? They're just like Cerberus except they're all in black with no logo on it.. Hmm... Must be Shadow Broker's agents? Garrus and FemShep dancing, maleshep getting tattooed by Jack, it's GONNA BE ONE HELL OF AN ORGY.. And Miranda's NEW RED OUT FIT??!?! SHUT UP AND TAKE MY BANDWIDTH MICROSOFT POINTS!!!
|
The only thing I'd like to know is do I have to start this early?
Both my normal and insanity saves are at Cerberus HQ and SPOILER: show |
One of the comments from the video said that mission on Citadel should be started BEFORE attacking Illusive Man's HQ and you only do it AFTER the Cerberus/Udina coup attempt on it.
So far, my savegame replays are currently AFTER the Udina/Ceberus takeover Citadel and I'm still doing Liara's investigation of the missing Asari Colony before the war on Thessia.. Should be interesting if I played this DLC before it happens.. Thane and Mordin dies yes, but you'll get to see KOLYAT, Thane's son based on that trailer... I hope Legion shows up in this DLC BEFORE he dies doing his mission to rewrite the geth with Tali via Reaper Code uploading stuff. :( |
Mordin doesnt have to die...

I will pm that to you too

Release date of ME 3: March 6, 2012.. I think today's the 1st anniversary of this game... |
Just gotta a little more info on this. The Citadel DLC opens up after the Priority Citadel 2 mission.
SPOILER: show But they suggest going all the way up to the final assault mission at Cerberus HQ so you can meet all your old squadmates THEN starting the DLC so you get the full effect of said DLC. I guess I worded that right, you'll figure it out. |
Just finished downloading citadel alittle while ago.
Probably start it in a few days. Made the mistake of playing Omega on my insanity save so I'm gonna go through that again on normal mode. |
Quote:
|
Yeah, the end was a bit dicey.
But the thing is, I did Leviathan on normal, Omega on insanity. Might as well do Omega & Citadel on normal and get everything done in one shot. |
So this is a 70s cheese DLC, or...
|
So I got through part 1 of the Citadel DLC, which was the mission. Not great, but not bad. A little in between. But the dialogue between your squadmates got a few laughs out of me.
It's the 2nd half I'm enjoying right now. Really what's selling the DLC at the moment. |
And when I reach the ending of the party, I really felt like NOT CLICKING on going back to Normandy.. :(( I fucking cried..
Unlocked Achievements: SPOILER: show |
<iframe src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/TqygMMJpC3M" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" width="560"></iframe>
Skip to 1:24-1:34. That same reaction I felt when the last DLC is totally over. :((((( Excuse me, I need a tissue. |
After beating Mass Effect on my old XBOX years ago, starting fresh on Mass Effect 2, I have reached Mass Effect 3 last night.
My next play through will be with a Shepard that is completed 1-3 style. 3 seems out of control in a good way, I look forward to closing out this awesome trilogy that I delayed for so long. |
The ending fucking sucks, but the rest of the game is great.
|
I viewed the backlash, wanted to see for myself firsthand.
|
Just finished citadel. Yup. So bittersweet.....
|
I think I'm one of the minorities who never gave a single fuck about the plothole filled endings. Really enjoyed it that much. Sometimes, not everyone can have a happily ever after type of ending cos I know some people who dislikes happy endings to movies and still likes endings that have questions left to make viewers ponder it.
|
Kind of miss my Space Hamster from ME2.
|
I marked out when I found my space hamster running loose in the lower decks in Mass Effect 3.
|
Who the fuck took him out of my room and placed him there? EDI? Mordin? Garrus probably did, son of a bitch, my best friend.

Kind of like Kelly keeping my damned fish. I mean it's like yeah, I get it girl, you want the D, but get in line behind Liara, Ashley, Tali, Miranda, Jack, and Cortez.
|
Holy shit, I almost chokeslammed her ass into the memorial for that mishap.
|
Great fuckin' series. Finished my paragon run, going to take a mini-break from it, then start a Renegade run.
I spent countless minutes poking Traynor and enjoying her company. Commander...Commander...Commander...Commander...Commander...Commander...Commander...Commander...Comm ander...Commander...Commander...Commander...Commander...Commander...Commander...Commander...Commande r...Commander...Commander...Commander...Commander |
If you're playing Femshep you can invite Traynor to the showers and voila Romance Option!
|
Goodbye Mass Effect. You were everything I wanted in a game. Ballsy move by making a choose your own adventure go across three games. Man, the ending cinematic after ME2 was intense.
I hate your ending to the third game so much, but the adventure was so damn fun. Never had an experience like it, and I doubt I ever will again. Goodbye, my friend. |
Finally played this. Like ME2, I waited for all the DLC to hit first.
As I said in the other thread, this is pretty much now my favorite series this console generation. I don't really get the hate for this third game. Granted, I did play it with the extended cut ending, but regardless, to me Mass Effect has never been about the ending, but the journey leading to it. In fact, ME is a rare occurance where I took the game at a slow pace. Not that I really rush through other games, but I'm always thinking about the ending. In ME I was so enamored with the world Bioware created that it forced me to sit back and savor every little moment and mission. I think a lot of what made this series special for me was the characters. They're all so unique and interesting, and they have brilliant chemistry together. That combined with utterly fantastic voice acting leads to a cast that feels like old friends by the third game. I don't think I've ever felt as invested in a group of characters, not in a game, tv show, book or anything, as I have been with this cast. Going to do it all over again, this time as a mean, ruthless, biotic uber-bitch. |
I would like to have a beer with Garrus more than I would with a large portion of my real life friends.
Sad and pathetic or a testament to how well Bioware can put together a character? |

All the moaning and bitching about the ending of the game and all your decisions not making a difference was ridiculous. All your decisions mattered in that game, and shaped your missions, and most importantly, your relationships...the ending was going to be how Bioware wanted. Without your decisions and interactions during the story, the player would not have grown attached to these characters, and as you put it, make them feel like old friends that you genuinely missed having around. |
Maybe it's because with all the backlash, I expected the worst, and when the moment finally came it didn't seem so bad. Maybe pre extended cut was a lot worse.
Like I said, for me the series was all about the road to the ending, not the end itself. I knew before ME3 even came out, that the end, no matter how good couldn't live up to the experience leading up to it. |
Quote:
|
It's not entitlement to expect a coherent ending to 120 hours of gameplay.
|
Seemed perfectly coherent to me, if a little complicated. Just lacked closure for specific characters.
I've never been someone who needs complete closure at the end as long as the story itself is good. |
The ending was piss poor. They left alot on the table (remember the whispers of dark matter and that sun prematurely dying in ME2?) and alot of stuff didn't make sense (Why was the star child the same kid Shep had been seeing in his dreams?)
The decisions that were given such gravity in ME1/2 never really came to fruition. You could have killed the Rachni Queen in ME1 and it would have done little other than a few diologue changes and a few less war points in ME3. The Genophase? They spent alot of time on that leaving you hand-wringing on what to do. After all that, all you got was one of two pictures to give you any kind of hint as to what happens with the Krogan race, and that was only in the extended cut. Keeping the Collector Base or Destroying it? No effect whatsoever. The makers said they didn't want to punish people for making certain choices, but we made them having a pretty good idea which were "good" or "bad" for business if you will. Like alot of people, I made both a paragon and renegade to see what all the differences would lead to. I WANTED TO BE PUNISHED FOR MAKING RENEGADE CHOICES! Did it ruin the entire series? Yes and no. No in that it was indeed a great ride (saying its all in the journey and not the ending is bullshit for this kind of series and medium) and I was on the edge of my seat the whole time save for the last part. Yes, in that if we had gotten an ending we were due, I would be going all the way back to ME1 to do it all over again because it would have been the be all end all of story telling. Now, they are just going to gather dust and I'm done with them all. |
It's such a shame that they rushed Mass Effect 3 out, if any game needed another 6 months of development it was this one. Adding a slideshow in the EC didn't really satisfy me, although I liked it more than the bare-bones ending.
I hope Mass Effect 4 get's to stay in development until it's properly cooked all the way through. Bugs I can deal with, but forgetting to put an ending in is bullshit. |
Hello old friend. I miss you dearly and almost forgot N7. Always in my heart.

Hello old friend. I miss you very much. I know one day we will meet again. Happy N7 day.

Keep going back to this now and again. This is one of those games (all 3 of them tbh) that I would LOVE to see get the next gen remake treatment. Bonus if they included the multiplayer, which was damn good for being tossed together.

Apparently a remaster of the trilogy is slated to release 2021, and a new game in the ME universe is also being made:
