:D Bitch

toxic rooster 03-08-2005 04:45 PM

why were the Barca players having to be restrained on the sidelines after the final whistle?

aenima 03-08-2005 04:48 PM

They reckoned Carvalho fouled Valdes when Terry scored that header. And to be fair to them, he did, but it cancels out that shady decision by Frisk, the Duran Duran wannabe, in the first leg.

I was really nervous towards the end for some reason. Always want English clubs to do well, but never thought I'd be this passionate about Chelsea. The sad thing is, at the final whistle I was thinking of Dazza's ecstatic little face, and how I'd like to give him a huge hug and cook him a roast beef dinner.

Wengerland 03-08-2005 06:44 PM

Oh balls, poor defending from Barça really, but a great game to watch. Ronaldinho's 2nd was pure class.

That was about the first poor game i've seen Collina have.

I thought of Dazz when it went 3-2 and how much I was going to laugh at him but no :(. Ah well Utd lost and thats me 50 quid richer

Y2Ant 03-08-2005 09:01 PM

That Chelsea game was fucking incredible, had me entertained from start to finish. Petr Cech is the man, some mad good saves, it was great watching Mourinho run on the pitch at the final whistle, and the Barca manager and Ronaldinho were kicking off

United are out too

I'll probably watch the Arsenal game tonight, can't see them doing it but I hope they do

Ya no doubt my country man Carvalho held Valdes and the goal should not have stood. Still Barca got a freebie on that handball call on Paulo Ferreira when he had his back to the ball

:D Shame ITV are gay, Sky would have shown the fans after the match, in which case I would most likely have been on there waving my scarf around whilst dancing. I would always loved to see my reaction to a goal, I bet it looks great. Best fucking game I have been to, might even top the 97 F.A cup final. Bring on the next team, I honestly don't give two squirts of piss who it is. I shall be there for both legs.

I was never nervous, I always knew we'd do it, and I have always always always said we would go through. I have been waiting for this day for nearly two fucking weeks now, I was so pumped, and never even thought we'd go out.

Barca dived so much in the first leg that Carvalho's thing was what they deserved, how Ronaldinho didn't get booked is beyond me, he flipped out.

After the game I withelf my number and phoned the duck, just to say "HERNAN CRESPO, HERNAN CRESPO, HELLO, HELLO, HERNAN CRESPO, HERNAN CRESPO, HELLO, HELLO" and then hang up.

I want Arsenal to go out as they have the worst fans EVER, seriosuly, EVER, I swear none of them even own Arsenal shirts, and anyone that says to me "What a waste of 275 quid going to the nou camp and losing is a complete and utter spastic. But I am firmly behind Liverpool.

toxic rooster 03-09-2005 12:20 AM

what the fuck, it cost you 275 quid to go to the nou camp?

yianni 03-09-2005 04:32 AM

What a fucking awesome game. I've been saying it for ages, Ronaldinho is a fucking sick cunt. That second goal was just fucking incredible. Agree with Collina having a terrible game, usually he's on fire but not last night. I also thought Chelsea would advance but I didn't pick that scoreline, I thought they'd do it 1-0, ah well they're through anyway. Hope Arsenal gets the arse tomorrow.

Dazz 03-09-2005 05:00 AM

My mate said it would be 4-1 and we all laughed at him. I thought Collina did well, he failed to spot that foul but other then that he was really good I thought. He spotted the dives, made it clear that players had to wait for the whistle, got the penalty spot on, I really thought he was quality.

And yes Wee gooner, getting a flight to Spain and back and the ticket cost that much.

yianni 03-09-2005 05:36 AM

BTW I heard that scuffle between Ronaldinho and a few ground staff post game had something to do with Eto being called a monkey by one of the officials...? Can anyone elaborate?

Dazz 03-09-2005 06:47 AM

Theres nothing to elaborate to as of yet, Eto'o claims he was called a monkey, our stewards have denied it. Someone apparentley said something else to the Barca bench that annoyed Rijkard.

Wengerland 03-09-2005 06:57 AM

Collina just seemed a bit more picky on the little things than he normally is, bit inconsistent in a few decisions, but he got the main calls right, apart from missing the foul on Valdes.

It was meant to have been Andre Villas (sp?), a Chelsea coach, who taunted the Barcelona bench straight after the final whistle. Eto'o apparantely spat at the steward who's alleged to have called him a monkey aswell.

Dazz 03-09-2005 07:06 AM

Collina wasn't at all picky, he didn't care when we took a few free kicks with the ball rolling or when Barca took free kicks from further up then they should have been. But they were little things that didn't really matter. The only thing he did wrong was not book Ronaldinwho when he flipped out after we got our fourth goal.

Which is why he's the best - he lets the stuff that doesn't matter go, makes it a lot more fluid than refs who insist on absolutely every little thing by the book.

Wengerland 03-09-2005 10:40 AM

Maybe it was just me then, just thought he gave a couple of free kicks when the challenges were fair. I hadn't seen a game he reffed for a while, so i probably had way too high expectations, given the crap referee's we get week in, week out.

Mr. Monday Morning 03-09-2005 10:41 AM

Should John Terry's goal have been disallowed?

Yes 55%

No 22%

My name is Andy Townsend and I'm pretending not to have seen anything 23%

Wengerland 03-09-2005 10:48 AM

Yeah, jesus christ Townsend

He also said the penalty was debatable and that "it must be deliberate", but you can't put your arm up that high and expect to get away with it.

Roque Junior's first Leeds United start has been voted the worst debut of all-time.

The Brazilian World Cup winner endured a nightmare introduction to Premiership football in a Sky-televised 4-0 thumping by Leicester City.

He was lucky to escape with a booking and was actually sent off in his next game for the club. After only meeting his new team-mates a couple of days earlier, it was a tough baptism for the South American who seemed shocked by the intensity and pace of the football.

Roque Junior was a clear winner with a quarter of the votes after the ten nominations were forwarded by skysports.com readers.

Jesper Gronkjaer's awful start to life with Denmark, when he gifted Filippo Inzaghi of Italy a goal after only 30 seconds. He was later substituted but has since more than proved his worth to the national team.

Graeme Souness got life as Rangers player-manager off to a bad start when he was sent off in against Hibernian and that came third in our poll.

Top 10 nightmare debuts:

1. Roque Junior, Leeds v Leicester 25%
2. Jesper Gronkjaer, Denmark v Italy 16%
3. Graeme Souness, Rangers v Hibernian 15%
4. Chris Sutton, Chelsea v Sunderland 12%
5. Jon Dahl Tomasson, Newcastle v Sheff Wed 10%
6. Erik Thorstvedt, Spurs v Nott'm Forest 7%
7. Ulrich Le Pen, Ipswich v Bolton 7%
8. Garry Flitcroft, Blackburn v Everton 3%
9. Paul Butler, Eire v Czech Rep 2%
10.David White, England v Spain 2%

Benitez

"I think Stevie will score," affirmed Benitez. "I have seen it in the crystal ball.

Wengerland 03-09-2005 11:18 AM

hahaha that was awesome, i remember that Leeds fan on fanzone before the game with a shirt saying 4-0 to Leeds, unlucky son

That was also Marcus Bent's debut for us

JPM 03-09-2005 02:58 PM

Why does calling someone a monkey neccesarily have to be a racist comment?
It wasn't in Lock Stock:- "Fucking Northern Monkeys!"
And what the hell's Eto'o on about saying Chelsea going through is bad for football!?! That was one of, if not the most exciting game I've ever seen!

Danny Electric 03-09-2005 03:09 PM

It has a different context.
In Britain you have northern monkeys and southern cunts.

Danny Electric 03-09-2005 03:12 PM

I love you Luis Garcia.

Danny Electric 03-09-2005 03:20 PM

i  luis garcia with all my heart.

Ogen 03-09-2005 03:25 PM

Liverpool look fucking great. And just LOL at Utd fans. Liverpool going further in Europe than you :D

Danny Electric 03-09-2005 03:27 PM

 to Ogen

But no love to Sky or to any of the pubs for showing the Arsenal game and not the Liverpool one.

Yeah obviously it's a different context compared to someone saying "fucking black monkey", but to me monkey is not an intrinsically racist term. I just see it as meaning stupid/clumsy/whatever. Hey, if everyone else DOES see it as a racist term then fair enough. But I'd have thought Ronaldinho would be more upset being called a silly haired goofy toothed cunt than a monkey. :-\

Danny Electric 03-09-2005 03:32 PM

I don't see it in a racist way, that's the problem with society these days, you can't say much.
If someone called me a monkey, I'd just laugh, I wouldn't see it in a racist way at all.

Ogen 03-09-2005 03:42 PM

Irish tv has the Liverpool game good game so far Baros and Garcia have been tearing them to shreds. Liverpool should had 2 penaltys too both blatant penos.

Danny Electric 03-09-2005 03:45 PM

Do Leverkusen have to score 5 now?
I need to move to Ireland.

Ogen 03-09-2005 03:52 PM

Yeah they do your safe.

Danny Electric 03-09-2005 03:53 PM

All we need now is for Stevie G to score and Rafa's crystal ball has predicted the future.

Danny Electric 03-09-2005 04:11 PM

Milan

Mr. Monday Morning 03-09-2005 05:12 PM

Real are out, Juve scored a 2nd in extra time

So these teams are through:

AC Milan
Chelsea
Lyon
Bayern
Liverpool
PSV
Juventus

and Inter play Porto next week cause of AC Milan playing yesterday

No Spanish teams left :|

toxic rooster 03-09-2005 05:38 PM

Should be more disappointed, but didnt have very high expectations for the second leg

Wengerland 03-09-2005 06:07 PM

Watched the Arsenal game mostly, Bergkamp and Reyes were pretty disappointing. Collina on a bad game was still way ahead of the guy who refereed the Arsenal game.

Good goal from Zalayeta to win it for Juve, Ronaldo's sending off :|

toxic rooster 03-09-2005 06:10 PM

Hoping Cesc didn't spit at Ballack right at the end there, although he did deserve it

Cactus Sid 03-09-2005 07:08 PM

Football can be such a cruel sport.....
