That being said, Chyna is in no definition of the word a "mainstream celebrity". Mainstream means that you're basically a household name (i.e. John Wayne, Elvis Presley, George Clooney, Tom Cruise, etc.). Chyna is as much a celebrity as Snooki or Paris Hilton or basically any other mutant that people think is interesting just because they're an idiot on TV.

Maybe it's just because of the country I'm in, but if you mentioned Chyna to someone, you'd either get a shrug or after some prompting, an "oh yeah, what the fuck is she doing now" where you can gleefully show them what she's doing now.

People like Elvis are still "celebrities" because they manage to be in a segment of the populations thoughts regularly and are talked about.
