Don't see who it could be besides Mandarin. I guess it could be Titanium Man or Crimson Dynamo, but we just got the "evil russian copies stark tech" story in IM2.

Would love to see Ghost, but it doesn't fit the actor. Or at least his age.

Shadow 04-10-2012 11:57 AM

Already did Dynamo in 2. Hmmm....MODOK? Geeze I don't know.

The Destroyer 04-10-2012 12:04 PM

MODOK's more of a Cap villain anyway.

Lock Jaw 04-10-2012 12:48 PM

It could be "not the Mandarin" but a dude who is pretty much the Mandarin, but not as "racist" or whatever.

We did have the whole "League of the Ten Rings" thing from the first movie still there. They didn't do anything with it in the second movie, but they could indeed do something in this one.

Kalyx triaD 04-10-2012 12:54 PM

Or they could be lying their asses of.

Ben fits for a Manderin look, hard to believe he is not playing him. Not to mention at this point in the series Manderin's time should come - he's too iconic an Iron Man villain. Then again, a new creation for the movie-verse is also likely.

Iron Man:

I know this has it's own thread, but I plan on updating these two topics indefinitely as comic movies appear to be more of a stable in the film industry. Eventually I'll simply make a Comic Movie News Thread but I'm a freak about organization.[Ha!] Anyway, Iron Man as finished filming a little while ago which gives them close to a year of post-production. They closed filming in Vegas; though this isn't a hint to the film's story (= the ending may not be set in Vegas). Terrance Howard will play James Rhodes in case some of you didn't know. Rhodes is the civilian identity of War Machine, though you can bet he'll figure in the sequel with a cliff-hanger introduction at the end of this film.[Eh]

Spidey 4:

I suppose Spidey 3's financial success is attributed to Venom's inclusion and they'll add more recent villains as a result. If this is true, and I love the series so far, this will be the beginning of Spider-Man's spiral into the Batman and Robin effect, increasing an aspect of the last film not knowing it worked in a shot-in-the-dark sense. Sam Raimi also expressed ideas of using The Vulture or Electro (more classic villains). I doubt he'll actually have anything to do with Spidey 4.[Yep] JK Simmons, Bryce Howard, and Dylan Baker (Conners/The Lizard) will return with new leads for Peter Parker and Mary Jane, I'm thinking.[Heh]

More to come.

Whiplash was in 2. Yes, it was supposedly a combination of Whiplash and Dynamo, but it was pretty much just a russian whiplash.

Could still do something with the actual Dynamo armor.

Problem is, Iron Man has a shit rogues gallery. Afew Asian stereotypes, a few guys in armor, and a few evil CEO's. That's about it.

That's why I like Ghost. He's one of the more interesting ones.

Spidey to cross over with Black Spidey soon.

Kalyx triaD 04-11-2012 02:04 PM

The bigger deal is how far would an Ultimate/616 crossover go. Has that ever happened?

The Destroyer 04-11-2012 02:14 PM

Never to my knowledge.

Normally I don't really care to follow the UU but this... I'll buy.

Nowhere Man 04-12-2012 06:32 AM

Anyone else kind of expecting them to port Ultimate Gwen Stacy over into the 616 Universe, so she'll be there in time for the movie?

Fignuts 04-12-2012 06:47 AM

God I hope not. Spider-man has actually been good again, for first time since the early 90's.

Nowhere Man 04-12-2012 07:05 AM

Speaking of, I'm quite intrigued as to how the Ends of the Earth is gonna pan out. Doc Ock has always been one of my favorite villains, and I'm really excited to see what's gonna happen now that he and the Sinister Six have stopped screwing around.

Inadequacy 04-12-2012 07:54 AM

Wasn't there an interaction between ultimate and 616 Reed Richards in marvel zombies? Or a prelude to it?

Inadequacy 04-12-2012 07:58 AM

Googled it. I guess marvel zombies has people from ultimate and 616 show up, but not together.

They teased it in Ultimate Fantastic Four but instead that gave birth to Marvel Zombies.

Assholes.

mitchables 04-12-2012 08:02 PM

Oh wait. Inadequacy with the yesterday post. Should read threads I guess. Whatever, I brought pictures.

The Destroyer 04-13-2012 06:09 AM

I was going to point that out, but I wanted to avoid coming across as a massive nerd.

Thanks for taking the fall Mitch.

Fignuts 04-13-2012 11:50 PM

That whole thing with ultimate ff didn't actually involve 616. It was Zombie Reed pretending to be a normal healthy reed (which looks exactly like the 616 reed) so that ultimate reed would open a portal for the zombies to get more food.

dronepool 04-14-2012 12:04 AM

You know, "616's Reed's" expression looks a bit "satirical". Something about it made me think it's a fake surprised look.

Lock Jaw 04-14-2012 12:25 AM

I haven't actually read any Ultimate stuff. I think somewhere, I have a DVD full of a whole lot of it that I downloaded once.

Fignuts 04-14-2012 02:03 AM

Ultimate is the goods for the most part. Ultimates 1 and 2 are some of my favorite books. Ultimates 3, along with Ultimatum are the drizzling shits, however.

I read ultimate avengers, and that was really good, so they seem to be back on track.

Nowhere Man 04-14-2012 02:13 AM

Ultimate Spider-Man is always kind of a mixed bag for me. I really liked Peter Parker's personality and his banter (I haven't read Miles Morales yet, so I don't know whether I like him), and some of the takes on the villains and supporting cast are really good. However, there are a lot of things that never cease to irritate me, like the Goblin looking like the Hulk, Doc Ock having weird Magneto powers, Uncle Ben being a hippie, Carnage eating Gwen Stacy and then basically pooping out a new one later, etc. The first few volumes are definitely worth checking out, though.

Fignuts 04-14-2012 02:23 AM

I liked the whole Peter/Kitty thing. Should have drawn that out longer.

Loved his encounters with kingpin.

On a related note, does anyone know what issue of 616 spider-man that he beats living shit out of kingpin for trying to kill aunt may? It was like right after he revealed his identity.

El Fangel 04-15-2012 03:30 PM

Was out yesterday and like a boss, remembered that I wanted to buy AvX Round #2 one stop before the comic shop. Get off and go in and look and only see AvX #1 and I am all like "what the hell, they can't be sold out that fast" so I pick up AvX #1 and read the finally panel "To be continued...in TWO weeks" muttered "fuck sake" under my breath and proceeded to browse a bit more.

Think I am going to go back and get that variant cover (or hell, all of them) since it is the first series I have got into.

Reavant 04-15-2012 04:23 PM

the New Avengers issue involving the behind the scenes part of the AvX is pretty cool

Fignuts 04-17-2012 12:25 AM

Just read the first 8 issues of Wolverine and the X-men and I love it.

Such a breath of fresh air from the deathly serious x books we've been getting the last few years. Legit has made me laugh out loud at parts, and is in general just a really fun book. Highly recommended, though Bachalo's art style isn't everyone's cup of tea. I'm a fan, personally.

El Fangel 04-17-2012 01:25 AM

^ Think I may look into this as well.

Reavant 04-17-2012 02:08 AM

I absolutely hate the art... its horrible

At San Diego Comic-Con last summer, Marvel TV Head Jeph Loeb said that Agents of S.M.A.S.H. would feature Hulk, Red Hulk, She-Hulk, Skaar and A-Bomb, and revealed that Paul Dini (Batman: The Animated Series, Arkham City, Ultimate Spider-Man) was working on the series. In the fall, at New York Comic-Con Leob also said that She-Hulk has some of the best lines in the show.
How did I miss this? And Eliza Dusku is voicing She-Hulk. The flying guy from Heroes is doing Iron-Man in a cameo (he's Stark in the Iron Man anime).

Nark Order 04-18-2012 12:59 AM

X-Factor is pretty wonderful. Gratz to Lock Jaw for the recommendation.

El Fangel 04-18-2012 01:17 AM

How far along is X-Factor? This issue every two weeks shite is not making me happy.

Nark Order 04-18-2012 01:37 AM

Pretty deep. The series I'm reading may have ended in 2010, not sure. I'll check later. I'm reading the 2005 X-Factor series and it went like 200 something issues in.

Nark Order 04-18-2012 01:43 AM

Wait, naw. I think it's still going. Gonna take me awhile to catch up. Only at issue #15

Lock Jaw 04-18-2012 02:09 AM

Like I said before, I think it went up to #50, then renumbered with #200. No idea where it is at now, since I am way behind.

El Fangel 04-18-2012 03:04 AM

Ill have a look during my next shop visit. Unless a torrent can be provided.

Kalyx triaD 04-18-2012 05:21 AM

Marvel just dumped pretty much all of their animated movies on Netflix. Win.
