Watching Impact for the first time since a few weeks before Lockdown.... Abyss with a "new mask".... looks like a prune. Should change his name to Pruneface.

DaveBrawl 03-20-2014 09:09 PM

So I was watching the Discovery Channel and apparently Chuck Palumbo has a new shown on where he goes to the homes of people who hoard cars and buys the whole lot and sells what he can out of it and gives them one really nice car in return.

Well the first episode was about Chevy Corvair's so it was only so nice. Plus he lost like $5k on the whole deal including the payday from his last match.

EC3 with a new/remixed theme. Way worse than his old one.

WWE has sent out a survey to fans on their mailing list asking for interest in several potential WWE Network reality shows. The shows and summaries of the pitches are below:

* Blackman’s Bounties: Former WWE star and legit badass Steve Blackman reality series following his bounty hunting team based out of Harrisburg, PA. Think Dog the Bounty Hunter.

* NXT: Behind the Scenes: A reality series following the talents trying to make it out of the Performance Center and to the main roster, looking at their work, their personal lives and the fraternity of the NXT brand, including the heartbreak of being cut. So, it’s Tough Enough-esque.

* Pros vs. Joes: Pretty much the same as the old SpikeTV series, pitting WWE talents against an average person in physical and non physical challenges. The non physical challenges listed included an air guitar competition. The physical challenges were described as similar to American Gladiators.

* WWE Around the World: Following WWE talents taking part in some of the scariest stunts and attractions around the world, such as shark diving and eating strange foods. It read as if it was modeled after some of the Travel Channel’s “Extreme” specials with a dash of Anthony Bordain’s No Reservations.

* WWE Dirty Jobs: Just like the Discovery Channel reality series of the same name, WWE talents have to perform unpleasant jobs, including going into Chicago sewers and picking up garbage in NYC.

* WWE Prankdown: A practical joke show that features WWE talents pulling tricks on unsuspecting “Superfans.” The example given was John Cena and Randy Orton both wanting to buy an expensive car and getting into a fight at the dealership, only to show the damage they caused was part of the show to trick the fan.

* WWE Rescue: A reality show where WWE talents come to the homes of “super fans” help them with their personal and business problems. Think Restaurant Impossible meets Nanny 911.

* WWE Ultimate Challenge: WWE’s version of CBS’ Amazing Race with a 12 hour extreme scavenger hunt in different cities.

* Xtreme WWE Collector: Starring “Super fan Michael Patterson” – basically a WWE version of Travel Channel’s Toy Hunter, except Patterson is chasing WWE toys and memorabilia.

Blackman's Bounties would single handedly break the WWE Network servers.

ron the dial 03-20-2014 10:33 PM

the majority of those ideas sound godawful

SlickyTrickyDamon 03-20-2014 10:40 PM

So every idea is just a copy of other reality show. Ugh.

I'd Greenlight Blackmans show, the toy merchandise guys show if it's just a few minute interludes between real shows.

On the bubble: Pro Vs. Joe.

Everything else sucks donkey dick.

And that's a bad thing?

Tazz Dan 03-20-2014 10:53 PM

Tatanka's teepee's. The Native American version of Lifestyles of the rich and famous.

Here's the issue with Bo and a few of the NXT people: some of their gimmicks come off as indy gimmicks. They work on a small show with the same audience every show but they don't translate well in the big leagues: see Emma. They aren't spotlighted on Raw/Smackdown so they either get lost in the shuffle or there's not enough camera time for the fans to make a connection. I fear this will happen to Adam Rose which sucks because it's tremendous. I don't see it happening to Tyler Breeze though.

Bo's turn is as close to what a John Cena heel turn would probably look like.

SlickyTrickyDamon 03-20-2014 11:26 PM

The way Tatanka sees it to make it to the top in the World Wrestling Federation Tatanka will be successful.

Heisenberg 03-20-2014 11:35 PM

I'm glad we can all agree on Tatanka, but throw in girls and politics and ppl just start wrecking each other

Lock Jaw 03-20-2014 11:50 PM

Trying to watch Superstars now before Smackdown starts, but the piped in cheers shit me to tears.

Tazz Dan 03-21-2014 12:14 AM

Smackdown will be just as bad. I hate taped shows.

I can see the problem with Adam Rose because it's too "silly" and WWE can't keep silly interesting once they hit the main roster. I think Bo Dallas' gimmick would translate fine onto the main roster. It's just MADE to draw heat regardless of which roster he's on.

Bad News Gertner 03-21-2014 12:32 AM

He's got to be featured alot for it to work.

What about taping shows, such as Smackdown? Do you hate that?

Lock Jaw 03-21-2014 01:01 AM

Evan Bourne and Ezekiel Jackson should just randomly come back as a tag team.

GD 03-21-2014 01:13 AM

Has Wade Barrett wrestled a single televised match this year?

Heisenberg 03-21-2014 01:29 AM

I saw him last week in a house show, I think they are giving him a go after Wrestlemania again. Is this going to be push #3?

SlickyTrickyDamon 03-21-2014 01:39 AM

1. Nexus.
2. Corre IC title run.
3. The Barrutt Barrraaaage/another IC title run.
4.

Fignuts 03-21-2014 01:49 AM

Ax from Demolition had the most awesome loud angry promo voice.

Cool King 03-21-2014 05:45 AM

All those ideas that Lock Jaw posted from that WWE Network survey are God awful, apart from the Steve Blackman one. And I'm not just saying that because of the whole Steve Blackman thing that goes on around here. It does actually sound like it could be interesting.

I saw it and thought "Who the hell is that?" At first I thought it was a very shoddy attempt at Kane, then I though that maybe it would be Kane's new attire, as he had just recently joined The Authority at that time.

I don't know why there's a tiger and a unicorn outline on a disco dance floor with Fandango, but there you go.

The Rogerer 03-21-2014 05:56 AM

Maybe the Finisher is from this Scooby Doo nonsense.

Tazz Dan 03-21-2014 06:04 AM

I want that DVD, just for the cover.

Cool King 03-21-2014 06:07 AM

I get the feeling that the DVD will be similar to the old "WWE The Videos" DVD that was release years ago, but maybe with a bit of an interview with certain guys about each theme.

Cool King 03-21-2014 06:08 AM

I've got that DVD but I don't think a volume 2 was ever made.
