Did they officially state that stories and arcs previous to the New 52 were no longer being made? Or just that they're going to start hitting up the New 52 for source material? Two very different things.

Yeah, there is still always hope (unless you are Kalyx). Even then, though, they could adapt old universe stories, but use crappy new universe costumes.

No matter the media implications, Flashpoint was fucking crazy.

Didn't know it was out. I will try to find a copy tomorrow.

Following Flashpoint.... it is official, the next DC Animated movie is moving into the universe of the New 52. "Justice League: War" will be based on the first New 52 Justice League story.

I really hope this doesn't mean that we never see anything from the old universe adapted again.... or that we never see the old costumes as well.

I didn't like the first Justice League story.

I would be ok with an adaption of 'Court of Owls' the Batman story though. I really enjoyed that.

I'm curious to see the animated film because I actually liked the comic book series.

It's rare these days to have an 'event' that is self-contained within 5 issues and doesn't require reading a bazillion tie-ins to follow what is going on.

What does everyone think of 'Trinity War' so far?

I like that it will be over and done with in two months but it just seems like it is missing something so far. It just doesn't have the 'wow' factor yet for me.

Haven't read Trinity War because it does not fall within the group of books that I still bother to keep up with.

I want a whole movie about Thomas Wayne-Batman in the Flashpoint universe. His origin manages to be more depressing than what we seen with Bruce.

Flashpoint Paradox was great. Pleasantly more violent than I'd expect. Worth buying when it's a bit cheaper for sure.

Flashpoint Paradox was simply amazing to me. It was very much worth the wait. I'm loved seeing Aqualad, Tula, Tempest, Manta outside of Young Justice.

Still carrying a torch over here.

2015 is one packed year for movies. Half of them are going to "bomb" just because people will get tired of a "must see blockbuster" coming out every other week.

Please don't screw it up.

Two more DC Animated Movies announced:

"Son of Batman" based on Grant Morrison's Batman and Son.

and "Batman: Assault on Arkham". No info on what this is based on.

All the Batman animated stuff was great, these should be cool.

Son of Batman isn't post new-52 so there is still hope for older stories.

Wonder who will voice Damian?

Almost certainly Chandler Riggs. That's just a guess from the top of my head but I am so sure of it.

I bet Kalyx has some inside info because of that one time Chandler Riggs got to meet him.

If I knew about these movies I certainly would have choked it out of him, or at least suggested he lobby for it. Then again casting is down by the time we hear about it.

Son of Batman sounds fun, and points to DC not forgetting about any past stories that can still be adapted to film.

Be interesting to see if they have Tim Drake as Robin or Red Robin to bring it in line with New 52 continuity.

This past year, The CW was developing a Wonder Woman series, Amazon. While that project didn’t turn into a pilot this spring, the network said in May they were still developing it. However, Deadline says the network “has hit the pause button” on Amazon, yet another frustrating delay for Wonder Woman fans hoping to see a new live-action version of that character.

However, with Arrow a hit for The CW, the network – co-owned by Warner Bros. – clearly wants to get more DC Comics adaptations on the air, as the network’s overall lineup turns increasingly to genre projects.


It will be interesting to see how Flash is incorporated into Arrow’s world, which so far has had no characters with superpowers appear. Many of us hoping to see DC build a bigger cinematic/live-action universe have wondered if they could tie Arrow into Man of Steel, indicating Arrow takes place in the same world as that film and opening the door to super-powered characters existing. It’s still unclear if that will occur, but Flash’s introduction certainly would be interesting and raise questions about whether we’re meeting members of a potential Justice League movie cast on TV as well as film, as the Batman vs. Superman movie nears in 2015.

Makes me want to go back and watch the old CBS Flash series.

Hopefully it's still as great as I remember.

Like 7. I know it won't be that good, which is why I haven't actually gone back to watch it, but I can still view it through nostalgia.

That feeling's overrated, but do like to hear the MMPR theme every once and a while.

Never saw The Flash TV show. I think I tried to watch it a few years ago, and got through the pilot, but that was about it.

I hope the Flashhe doesn't have powers, because super powers are going to ruin Arrow.

Get all super powers away from Arrow.
