Ha! Last time I saw a game end on a pickoff was when I was telling my friends I had never seen a game end on a pickoff and then Chad Curtis (I think it was him) promptly got picked off to end a Cubs/Yankees game at Wrigley.

I don't know why the Cards haven't plunked Ortiz at least once. He's way too comfortable at the plate if you're a St.Louis fan

I say this everytime the Yanks and Red Sox play. Red Sox plunk a lot of them, especially Jeter, and they never retaliate. Yankees refuse to pitch inside to Ortiz, just throw a couple close to him to back him up.

Either St Louis doesn't want to start a beaning war or somehow think Ortiz is less of a threat because the rest of the team strikes out way too much this offseason.

Detroit did the same in the ALCS and managed to neutralize him except for one game.
