I've been in a LULL with AEW since Revolution. I have a big bone to pick about their booking of Hangman. Think back to when Austin was running hot. Almost every episode was built around him. He'd start the show with a segment, there would be backstage stuff and then eventually he'd have his match or interfere in the main event. He was the through line to the show.

Hangman is lucky to get one segment a week and it's always with Adam Cole. Adam Cole is not a fucking main guy, this has to stop. Adam Cole is not going to bring fans to the product. He's a good wrestler and promo yes but he look's like a fucking shrunken man, this is ridiculous. Almost all of the main stories are more compelling than the Champions story and I am sick of it!

Its been mentioned on various podcasts that the formatting of aew's shows is terrible. As you said, instead of building each episode around a top talent story thread, they're taking time away from said talent to make sure as many undercard guys get a paycheck for the night as possible.

That's very generous of them, but generosity doesnt make for a good show.

I would argue that cole, as a scheming asshole who uses redragon's help to win, could be a top heel talent. Its just unbeleivable in this case because up til now hes been booked like a loser

We have a very different perspective of what was going on. I was not interested in discussing the semantics of what a star is, which is an admittedly subjective term. I think it measures prominence. Austin Theory is a bigger star than Adam Page. Anyone regularly featured on WWE television is. Because they are prominent on a show that is consumed by more people domestically and worldwide.

Adam Page has been horrendously pushed. You only get one first time with a guy. You could see it coming a mile away and it was a bad idea then too. The approach that all your ideas are good makes it easy to stick to bad plans.

Think about how over Page could be if he was having meaningful feuds in the middle of the card, with his own corner of the show. Instead they had to stick to the plan and tell their “masterpiece.”

Page will probably be a heel by the end of the year. Some people will be very forgiving, but imagine what could have been.

Adam Cole is the drizzling shits. I managed to warm up to him as a scheming character in NXT, but without someone cracking the whip and getting him into the gym, he doesn’t even come off like a Ryan O’Reilly in OZ anymore. He looks like a piss-take of professional wrestling.

I have more interest in seeing Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly as singles guys. Get them the fuck away from Cole.
