It would have made me very interested in the game. The demo did absolutely nothing for me, though.
|
It's a very well made action game. Under the hood it's actually something akin to Devil May Cry or Bayonetta.
|
Maybe I didn't give it a fair chance but it just didn't click for me.
|
Yeah it's really strange at first. People would expect a platformer or something more casual by the looks of it.
|
I expected a cross between Pikmin and maybe light RTS. Didn't seem to be either.

I just don't see the point in saying that. The tracks are where you can get really creative, and affect the gameplay.

They haven't done sea per se, as those sections are functionally still road racing. Sonic All Stars and Diddy Kong Racing did water racing.

A new Diddy Kong racing would be awesome.
Or at least a Mario Kart game that has a 'hub-style' overworld map with secrets abound. That would be epic. |
Update to the fan-based remake of the original Metal Gear game news as the team developing it has cancelled all work for the project. No official reason was given.

I'm reading some stories about how a new Xbox One advert featuring Aaron Paul is making people's Xbox One's turn on when Aaron Paul says "Xbox on".
It reminds me of that video a guy made of another Xbox One advert, that had a women in it say "Xbox, go to Dead Rising 3" and the guy's Xbox One launched Dead Rising 3. |
Is that advert with guy that seem to be an overgrown arrogant fratboy? Who the hell answers their phone with a semi-aggressive "Yo!"?
If the advert had sold me an Xbox one, that "Yo!" would undo it. |
Oh and that snap tv thing seems a little useless. My tv can do that on it's own anyway and I can have my Wii U and 360 onscreen at the same time.
...stil useless. |
Brain Training is free to download on the Wii U until 10th of July. This is in Europe and Japan. No idea about the US.

If they were to buy Capcom and back it with some great funding, I believe MS could do great things with the name - especially Megaman.

There's very little to convince me Microsoft knows how to operate Japanese developers. They'd have the franchises and put out Westernized games under their banner - AKA what got Capcom in the shithole to begin with.
I much rather Sony or Nintendo. |
I'd rather none of the console manufacturers buy Capcom. Don't want to see their library of IPs forced to a single console. Not good for consumers, not good for their IPs.

I have MadDog McCree and Dragons Lair on dvd. They came in a magazine I got years ago. They are literally just interactive movies. I think the modern equivalent is games like Ryse, Heavy Rain etc where you appear to be just getting pulled along a lot of pre-scripted events and press the right button when prompted. They may not be as devoid of gameplay as the laserdisc games I mentioned but they seem pretty close. I admit I've played neither Ryse nor Heavy Rain but from the gameplay I've seen and what I've heard about from those that have played them, the comparison seems accurate.
Walking Dead, I know has more to it. |

I think DLC started off well, but kinda took a shitty turn when "on disc" content was being locked behind the DLC Paywall. I don't think it would play out as written above, but I don't believe it is too far fetched either. The industry as a whole is a multi-billion dollar industry and like everything else, some people/companies/whatever will try to exploit it for what they can.
Never thought that Netflix would be forced to pay more to an ISP to carry their content either, but yea.... fuck Comcast too. 10 years from now, high speed is going to be more expensive and will have "tiered apps" access much like their cable TV offerings do now. |

Also, high speed internet is going to be much cheaper in the future. |
When Comcast strangles companies to pony up for the "high speed lanes", the cost will come out of our ass. Netflix already raised its price in response. Internet will be cheaper, but it won't mean much when XBL and PSN become 90$ a year and Hulu is 20$ a month.
