According to Jinder on a recent episode of Talk Is Jericho, he wasn't originally meant to be an anti-American character for his WWE title push. The original promo where he won the #1 contendership was very different and meant to tie into his old gimmick in order to transition to a new Jinder.

Instead Vince wanted the promo and character changed at the last minute to be another anti-American gimmick. Jinder initially didn't like the changes but realized afterwards it did help draw a lot of heat for his character.

Also Ciampa's injury was revealed to just be a sprain and no broken bones. Tag title ladder match for tomorrow's Takeover is still happening.

I think Itami will have a great performance here, but I don't think it's gonna be the start of a string of great performances. 2 ACL injuries have done him in.

Itami will be the first "large independant signing" of the modern era that will not turn out. Been signed for 3 years, injured for 2 is not great bang for your buck....
