Rob Liefeld with some interesting comments re: the upcoming Deadpool movie.

Quote:

"They've got a great director on the movie, they've got a great script. I may or may have not seen some sort of test of footage that would blow your mind if you saw it and go holy crap and that's Deadpool in costume. Katana swords, guns, shooting people’s faces off and making me laugh. And I may or may not have seen something that looks just like that. And you've got what would amount to the first R Rated X-Men movie. Because that script is R Rated.

They may or may not have wanted to shoot eight minutes to see how it would play. And all I can tell you, it's close. It’s closer that it's even been to going, or going Naaah, that's too scary a proposition to make a R Rated Deadpool movie.”

Seems like a strange way to prep a movie, I'd expect that for a TV pilot.

Rammsteinmad 01-14-2012 09:06 PM

The important question is; is this test footage online anywhere?!

Kalyx triaD 01-14-2012 09:46 PM

If it exists, I'm sure there's a furious search going on right now. Then again, the Wonder Woman pilot is harder to find than you think, and this is something we didn't even hear about until now.

What is that supposed to be?

LuigiD 01-23-2012 10:23 PM

It was rumored that in the 70's they wanted to do a black Widow and Daredevil show.
They got that far..just taking a few photos..thank god.

Captain of Fun 01-30-2012 04:29 PM

Ghost Rider looks pretty fucking sick, tbh.

Kalyx triaD 01-30-2012 05:01 PM

Yeah, I've been liking the clips.

Nowhere Man 01-30-2012 05:33 PM

That pose he's in looks like he's, like, a late night talk show host, introducing the hill behind him as tonight's musical guest.

On a side note, I would totally watch a late night talk show starring Ghost Rider all taking place on a truck driving down the highway.

Director Matthew Vaughn is returning for an X-Men: First Class sequel, Deadline reported Monday.
The news was tucked into a post on Fox production president Emma Watts sticking with the studio through 2015, along with word that Bryan Singer is returning as producer, and that Simon Kinberg — a First Class producer and co-writer of X-Men: The Last Stand — will write the screenplay.

Kalyx triaD 01-30-2012 09:00 PM

Good, though I suppose this means X4 will wait a while longer - short of a reboot.

Skippord 01-30-2012 09:33 PM

I still hate the choice of Nicholas Cage for Johnny Blaze, but the new Ghost Rider does look pretty awesome

love the directors

RP 01-31-2012 01:51 AM

New role in the next XMen. Micheal Fassbender will play Magneto and his mutant cock will play the role of Mutant Cock.

Kalyx triaD 01-31-2012 01:54 AM

Hmm...

Yeah, I normally hate Cage in anything action oriented, but I don't mind it in these movies, since it's all CGI when he's Ghost Rider.

I like the tone Garfield is playing Parker with. And I like how much they seem to be going with his science nerd side.

That said, not a fan of the Lizard design. He needs a snout.

Kalyx triaD 02-07-2012 04:31 AM

Fuck the snout, he needs a lab coat.

I am also enjoying Andrew's Peter. He seems like the wise-ass Spidey always was and I was always attached to his frail frame, which I always associated with Spidey's image compared to other superheroes. I'll get over the web-shooters.

Definitely a different taste from Raimi's work, and it'll be interesting to see if this trilogy will produce anything as epic as Spider-Man 2, so I'm eager to see this.

Captain of Fun 02-07-2012 12:13 PM

Yeah, biggest complaint with the first trilogy is that Spider-man doesn't wise crack enough. He's supposed to be nearly on the same level as Deadpool in that regard. Hopefully the car thief scene isn't the only example of this.

Becoming a little more open to this, even though I still think the costume change isn't very good. That said, it has some big shoes to fill in my eyes. Despite it's flaws, Raimi's movies captured the feel and atmosphere of Romita Sr.'s run perfectly. Also, The Dr. Octopus clock tower/train fight is my favorite fight scene in a movie.

Kalyx triaD 02-07-2012 05:53 PM

Spider-Man 2 is almost perfect in my eyes.

Kalyx triaD 02-07-2012 08:05 PM

Though the universe is doing everything in it's power to stop The Wolverine from being made, he's still the best at what he does - slicing people up in the summer: The Wolverine's official release date is July 26, 2013.

Rammsteinmad 02-08-2012 01:16 PM

Oh wtf we have to wait another year and a half? :foc:

Kalyx triaD 02-08-2012 02:15 PM

So long as we have a date. I was afraid it was gonna get canned altogether.

Captain America, best known for being the illegitimate lovechild of Captain Planet and Lady Liberty, likes to get around on a motorcycle. And now you can look just like him riding your bicycle with this replica suit from UD Replicas (who brought us the Batman, Star Wars and Iron Man leathers)! Unfortunately, the shield and helmet aren't for sale so you'll have to make your own out of a garbage can lid and watermelon.

One of the most unique leather uniforms created for the screen can now be yours. Every feature as seen on film in Captain America: The First Avenger has been replicated in form-molded leather from the classic color-scheme to the aluminum accent emblems on the back, arms and forever iconic silver star emblazoned on our hero's chest. Perfectly crafted gloves, boots, functional belt and detailed rigging complete this iconic battle-uniform that captures the retro 1940s Captian America: The First Avenger design.

Jacket: $598.00 CAN
Pants: $298.00 CAN
Gloves: $98.00 CAN
Boots: $198.00 CAN
Belt: $98.00 CAN
TOTAL SUIT AS A SET: $1,290.00 CAN

Kalyx triaD 02-27-2012 05:55 PM

98$ dollar belt?

Lock Jaw 02-27-2012 06:21 PM

It has pouches on it.

Read the 'Dark Phoenix Saga' again for the first time in years and almost started crying. I'm hopeless. :(

Shadow 03-13-2012 04:19 PM

Why?

Funky Fly 03-13-2012 04:43 PM

Because it's really fucking good? And kinda sad.

Captain of Fun 03-14-2012 02:53 AM

Chris Claremont's return to the series was even sadder. So terrible. I digged some of the costumes though.

Nowhere Man 03-15-2012 06:38 PM

So the first trailer for Ultimate Spider-Man is up:

http://marvel.com/videos/watch/2228/...-man_trailer_1

Honestly......meh. I mean, the animation is quite nice (as it should be for the Man of Action team), but I really don't like the whole concept of doing it all as a team-up show. If they're shoving Spider-Bikes and the Iron Spider suit and all these other cameos and gimmicky shit into the series, then there's not going to be any time to develop anything with Spider-Man's rogues gallery (the second-best in all of comics, second only to Batman) or his supporting cast (flat-out the best in all of comics). That, and a lot of the jokes in the trailer kind of fall flat to me, like they're trying too hard to make it 'wacky.' And Spidey really isn't all that wacky; he's just a smartass that never shuts up.

I want it to be good, and it looks nice and flashy, but I can't watch the trailer and not think "This is what they cancelled Spectacular Spider-Man for?"
