I was actually thinking of making a thread regarding this soon but I got beat to it. I look at Kane now and I wonder what the hell he has been doing the last couple of years? I don't think he has held a title for years actually. The last memorable thing I remember Kane being involved with was the Ede/Lita story. Such a waste of a potentially good character.

Doesn't really sum anything up well at all, while Kane was bigger it wasn't to the extent that he was steroid induced massive. I remember Brock Lesnar complaining about the schedule of WWE and the fact that he couldn't work out as much as he did, many on here noted that near the end of his run he was nowhere near as solid looking as he was when he had started. Very possible that Jacobs just doesn't hit the gym as often as he did and has lost definition because of it.

Cena posted pics a good while back that he was much bigger in, he attributed his smaller size today to the fact that he no longer can "live in the gym".

I think this is the pic cena posted, it was a while back when that "5 questions" thing was still on wwe.com. he was accused of photoshopping his head onto a bulkier guys body.

Maybe so but Kane had been getting smaller a long time before that ban ever came into effect. The wellness policy only came into effect February 2006. And you have to remember that Jacobs is getting older, while steroids is a possiblity its hard to rule out that he may not be as commited to training as he once was.

I'm totally cool with the WWE's focus on smaller guys. Hopefully TNA gets on board with the wellness policy soon.

His last title run (if you can call it that) was with the ECW title from WrestleMania 24 - late June of 2008, so it's been a while. I don't have any trouble with the guy personally. I mean sure he's not the HOLY SHIT! IT'S KANE! type character that was scary as fuck, but he still goes in, does what he has to do, doesn't bitch about it and finishes his job. Plus he's one of the few guys I know of who hasn't found themselves in some kind of hot water with WWE during their careers.

I agree..he does what he has to do and what not. But he has not done anything relevant in a long time. Being in the MITB match could be called relevant but his role in the match was so piss poor that it was awful.

True. But that's what happens when you throw 10 guys into the same match with one another at once. Granted it wasn't as much of a clusterfuck as I thought it would be, but Kane did seem to sort of suck some of the energy out of the match.

I am up for the mask again... Good way to finish out the career eventually... He sure has been a helluva company guy for years...

I think this time, he'll have a Great Muta-type mask.

What explanation could you give to put the mask on Kane? Bearing in mind it was used in the first place because Kane was a 'burns victim', which they seemingly forgot about.

I dont think needs a "mask" again per say. As far as out of shape, he's in his mid 40's he dosent have to look like Rob Terry he has credibility. I think a solid direction would help him, maybe send him on another distructive rampage for no real reason (just dont have it end for some crappy reason like his pasts ones have)


Also, side note I looked on wiki and found out Kane was born in Spain. Maybe the WWE could give him a Zorro gimmick to appease you maskies

People said masked Kane had run its course, and it was time to move on to something fresh. Well, UN-masked Kane has certainly run its course, and far less successfully than the prior gimmick I might add. Whether you want Kane masked again or not, it's time to do something else at the very least.

If you want Kane to put a mask back on, here's how to do it:

Put Kane on a losing streak. Against main eventers at first, but soon he'll have to start losing to mid-carders, then to jobbers. Have the commentators keep making comments about the streak. Then "someone from Kane's past" starts sending him messages about unleashing the monster again. Eventually a package arrives for Kane. He debates opening it for most of a show, but eventually does and starts his sadistic laugh. Kane turns his back to the camera for a moment, and as whichever show it is goes off the air, he turns around with the mask on. The very next show (Kane doesn't have to worry about brand loyalty for this storyline) opens up with a random match in the ring, which Kane comes down and destroys both wrestlers. VOILA! The Big Red Monster is back and in full force!

Face it guys... your beloved Kane is now of the same status as Mark Henry... a guy who's tenured, serviceable, and mid card at best. And not because Kane can't work, it's because all of his mystique is gone. His character wasn't meant to be a true babyface and he's been too humanized to be a heel.

When they had the whole buildup for the impostor Kane they should have put the mask back on him then, but in typical WWE fashion... they fucked it up aka Russo'd it.
