For those in Canada, the launch lineup for the Network was revealed to be very limited in content.

Quote:

The WWE Network expanded internationally today including as a regular television channel (along with a VOD component) in Canada to those with Rogers on channel 512 (channel 397 for the VOD option).

Below is the content available on demand at the launch:

-SummerSlam 1992
-SummerSlam 1998
-SummerSlam 2000
-SummerSlam 2002
-SummerSlam 2005
-Great American Bash 1989
-Bash at the Beach 1994
-Bash at the Beach 1996
-Bash at the Beach 1998
-ECW Heatwave 1998
-ECW Heatwave 1999
-ECW One Night Stand 2005

XL 08-12-2014 06:01 PM

Wow. That's pretty awful.

It'll be interesting to see what happens with the UK launch, especially with PPV. Currently it's Ł14.99 for PPV on top of what you already pay for your subscription (depends on the package) but the time difference will really come in to play for me. Not gonna pay Ł9.99 (though I can see it being more than that) to get a PPV I can't watch live, that I can watch on the net the next day for free. And with no Raw/SmackDown on the Network...

For me, they really need to load the On Demand stuff to make it worth purchasing.

Regarding the recent departure of WWE NXT talent Shaun "Slate Randall" Ricker, it was said by a NXT source that Ricker had by far the most potential of all the recent releases. However, Ricker's release is said to be a different situation than some of the other cuts which were due to them not being what WWE wanted or because of the talents not progressing. It was said that Ricker had the charisma WWE wanted but there was an issue that came up with him sending an e-mail that got him buried in the company. We don't know what the details of that e-mail were but another developmental source noted that some things Ricker wrote on his Twitter was not what WWE wanted.

If Spike TV ends up taking TNA off the air, they won't be going out of business immediately as they still have to film material for overseas contracts so they won't breach those deals. Kurt Angle wrestled his last match for WWE 8 years ago today at an ECW house show vs Danny Doring, and I was there.

Droford 08-14-2014 11:01 AM

in the scheme of best/most memorable/coolest things I've seen live seeing Angle's last match ranks #7
1) Goldberg losing to Nash at Starrcade
2) Undertakers last win at WM vs CM Punk (best match I've seen live)
3) Goldberg tearing up his arm punching a limo window (shown in color live, b&w on TV)
4) Vince's "lethal dose of poison/spin chair around to reveal nWo logo" promo
5) Jeff Hardy celebrating winning his first WWE Championship on Smackdown (would be #2 if I had seen him actually win it)
6) Crowbar debuting as a guy that works at a gas station down the street from where I live (same thunder taping as #3)
7) Angles last WWE match (would be higher if it was more than 15 secs vs Doring)
8) Marcus Bagwell turning on Scotty Riggs and joining the nWo.

trying hard to come up with 10..

WrestleMania 29 would have to be at the top of my list simply because it was WrestleMania.

The Raw 15th Anniversary show would be a close second, just such a nostalgia trip. Especially the battle royal. I marked the second I heard the sound effect at the start of Steve Blackman's theme.

Also saw Vince get decimated by the Nexus.

According to The Wrestling Observer, Kurt Angle has been pitching a deal to WWE officials which would see him return to the company and work a schedule similar to that of Shawn Michaels in his final years with the company.

The return deal would see Angle work limited dates and bigger events.

Despite Angle’s pitches, however, WWE is reportedly not very interested in Kurt Angle returning to the ring, and Vince McMahon has been very negative about an Angle return in the past. This doesn’t necessarily mean the company won’t bring him back, but WWE might be more interested in him returning similarly to how Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan have returned, which is not in an in-ring capacity.

The fact they made a specific announcement for Steen (and this was actually planned for last week, but the decision was made to hold it for the network launch, Steen actually signed months ago) tells you they are high on him. Rammsteinmad 08-15-2014 12:54 AM

The problem with that move, beyond being stupid and dangerous, is that the "set-up" is too staged. The move took too long to set up and as a result, you can clearly see where the guy taking the move is getting into position etc. Just ends up looking too much like two guys working together, as opposed to a guy being hit with a move that he really doesn't wanna get hit with.

But as Dark One said, the standing ovation they received from seven people was awesome.

“Lockdown” will become the second action film that WWE Studios and Lionsgate will co-produce and release through their “six-pack” movie deal.

WWE star Jonathan Good, known in the ring as Dean Ambrose, will headline the film, to be directed by Stephen Reynolds (“Tomb Raider: Ascension”). Production starts this month.

Good, who made his debut on WWE’s main roster in 2012, has generated a major fan following after breaking out as a member of the group The Shield, and quickly proved his abilities on the mic and in story lines in and outside of the ring. WWE is now betting that he may be able to cross over into films, as well. “Lockdown” will be his first starring role in a movie.

Written by Nathan Brooks and Bobby Lee Darby (“See No Evil 2″), “Lockdown” follows a police officer who finds himself trapped inside his own precinct and hunted after crooked cops stop at nothing to recover incriminating evidence of illegal activities against those closest to him.

The film follows “Vendetta,” that stars the Big Show and is directed by Jen and Sylvia Soska (“See No Evil 2″), while “Leprechaun: Origins,” which Lionsgate is also distributing with a limited release in theaters before hitting homevideo platforms, was part of an earlier deal.

“Leprechaun: Origins” had initially been intended for direct to home entertainment platforms on Aug. 26, but will now also give the film a limited release in theaters on Aug. 22, after a presentation for the film was well received at Comic-Con in San Diego.

“Lockdown will continue to energize and excite with the high level of adrenaline our fans have come to expect from our films,” said WWE Studios president Michael Luisi.

The list of movies Lionsgate and WWE have produced together is now growing considerably after starting with “Stone Cold” Steve Austin-starrer “The Condemned,” as well as horror pic “See No Evil.”

The six new action films are meant to showcase WWE talent in starring roles and help incubate new talent, WWE and Lionsgate said when making the deal in May.

Lionsgate sparked to the idea of being able to market the movies to WWE’s fanbase that watches its weekly TV shows and pay-per-views, as well as visits its websites and subscribes to its digital network.

“We’re proud to continue our long-standing partnership with WWE Studios, whose prowess in marketing to their global fan base delivers a consistent track record of commercial success,” said Lionsgate co-chief operating officer and motion picture group president Steve Beeks.

WWE Studios also released horror entry “Oculus,” this summer, together with Relativity and Jason Blum, and a direct-to-homevid “Scooby-Doo” movie set at “WrestleMania” with Warner Home Video.

What is with this "Ice Bucket Challenge" thing all of a sudden? It's everywhere now, with what feels like everyone in the world talking about it?

What's so amazing about pouring a bucket of ice over your head?

the idea is if you're called out, you do it or donate to charity. So people are doing it to not donate to charity. They're wasting water (California is in the middle of a drought, by the way, and there are counties where a bucket of clean water is a luxury) and saying it's for a good cause.

But I will give Triple H props for saying he made a donation, and urges others to do so.

^ what he said without the dumb parts, fucking wasting water. It's harmless and the celebs obviously pay up anyway

Rammsteinmad 08-15-2014 03:12 PM

It's another fad. Kinda like the no-makeup selfie and neck nominates. Regardless of people donating or not, it's just another dumb thing that somehow gets started and everyone does it.

Except me, because I have done an iPhone to film it on. :shifty:

There are places where people can't afford electricity and yet you wasted some making that post.

hahaha suck it 450

screech 08-15-2014 04:13 PM

You're supposed to donate $10 if you do the challenge and $100 if you don't. Come on 450, get your facts straight.

It was a good gimmick though.

Rammsteinmad 08-15-2014 04:57 PM

Nah Bo Dallas sucks. Every match he had, I found myself more impressed with his opponent than Dallas.

Bo Dallas vs. Eva Marie. Book it.

Rammsteinmad 08-15-2014 04:59 PM

Also, I understand them always starting new guys off with strong pushes to build them up, but Bo Dallas just doesn't seem like the type to have an undefeated streak.

I wish they'd bring someone new in once in a while and have them lose a match early on, just to get them up and running with some kinda angle.

Ruien 08-15-2014 05:00 PM

He lost twice to R-Truth.

XL 08-15-2014 05:01 PM

Yeah, Bo didn't need a winning streak. Hope they haven't given up on him completely, his gimmick was good.

Let Bray rescue his little brother.

ron the dial 08-15-2014 05:02 PM

bo dallas is awesome. i really hope they haven't given up on that gimmick. it has a lot of botential. they really need to let a character develop before scrapping it.

Fignuts 08-15-2014 05:29 PM

Needs to be a Regal dvd. His career is a great story, and he's had tons of great matches.
