Fatcesa would still be stat checking for Brent Musburger were it not for the Mets.

Corndad 10-09-2013 03:45 PM

Never been so nervous for a game in my life. That includes watching Game 7's in Stanley Cup Finals, AFC Championships, Super Bowls anything. This is gonna be nuts tonight.

Schlomey 10-09-2013 04:19 PM

I have a fever (literally 103 at the moment)...and the only cure is PIRATES BASEBALL!

no joke...i think i'm dying....

weather vane 10-09-2013 04:32 PM

GO BUCS!

ClockShot 10-09-2013 04:40 PM

G.I. Joe Girardi returns to the Yankees on a 4-year deal.

Alright, I'm happy with that.

Frank Drebin 10-09-2013 06:40 PM

Still am happy when things don't go perfectly as planned for the Cubs (Really want that feeling to go away but it wont). Now they'l have to settle for a non-sexy name unless something crazy happens like Joe Maddon suddenly becoming available. No Scioscia, Gardenhire or Girardi means the best option might be Mike Maddux, but they said they want to prioritize managerial experience. If thats the case, it looks like they get leftovers like Manny Acta or Eric Wedge.

Is Charlie Manuel still available as a possible option?

The Condor 10-09-2013 07:38 PM

Have never been a fan of Girardi and Im disappointed to see another four years of him running to his black book for "match ups." Wish they let him walk and promoted Tony Pena.

He needs his horses. They'l have to acquire Corey Patterson to lead off and Neifi Perez to play 2nd.

Possibly. They want experience and he certainly fits the bill. Did anyone young develop under him? Dom Brown? One of Svuem's issues was the regressions of Rizzo and Castro.

Evil Vito 10-09-2013 10:27 PM

Ugh. Fucking Cardinals every year.

Corndad 10-09-2013 10:35 PM

Kinda hope the curtain call in the 2nd inning becomes something leading to a Pirates Comeback but the bats just haven't been able to get going at all last 2 games really.

weather vane 10-09-2013 10:53 PM

Fuck sakes. Cards are a joke.

screech 10-09-2013 10:55 PM

H8 the cardinals

Corndad 10-09-2013 11:15 PM

Pedro is making himself some money this Postseason. I just hope it's the Pirates who sign his checks in the future. C'mon Bucs this ain't over yet.

weather vane 10-09-2013 11:23 PM

weather vane 10-09-2013 11:30 PM

Cuncel da Bucs

Corndad 10-09-2013 11:32 PM

Well Hell. We can't complain at all about this season. We were just looking for .500 at the start for God sakes.

Schlomey 10-09-2013 11:38 PM

:(

Corndad 10-09-2013 11:48 PM

At least they are going down fighting here.

The Condor 10-09-2013 11:48 PM

I really have come to loathe the Cards. It's inexplicable.

Evil Vito 10-10-2013 01:09 AM

The Cardinals are so fucking boring.

RoXer 10-10-2013 01:13 AM

No they aren't. They're a good baseball team just any other baseball team. It's only the logo/unis that turn people off.

Skippord 10-10-2013 01:16 AM

the Cards are super fun to watch actually

such execution!

DaveBrawl 10-10-2013 09:55 AM

I think I am going to adopt the Cardinals as my new team so I can taste occasional postseason success. I've resigned myseld to the fact that Rocktober is never happening again.

wish I could kick aforementioned retards right in the face, even though Verlander pretty much just did that this series

Adder 10-11-2013 02:38 PM

Winning baseball is boring? Is that what people are saying about the Cards?

DaveBrawl 10-11-2013 03:09 PM

The same criticism people have with the San Antonio Spurs. They really have no standout personalities and just play great fundamentals and for some reason people hate them.

Evil Vito 10-12-2013 05:20 PM

In general it's difficult for me to get excited about teams that have won the WS recently. Dunno, I just like seeing different teams win it for some reason. Last year's final four left me with the Tigers as my only rooting option with the 2009, 2010, and 2011 World Champs in there.

Would love to see the Tigers or Dodgers win one. Boston last won it 6 years ago so that wouldn't be too bad either. But as my playoff predictions would suggest I do think the Cardinals are the best team in baseball. That pitching is just ridiculous, and they're set up to be contenders for years with that staff.

The only thing that would make another Cards WS tolerable would be Beltran finally winning one. :(

toxic rooster 10-12-2013 08:21 PM

are you fucking kidding me, I already missed today's game

tell you what guys, when you realise how convenient it is to watch baseball games at 9am and not miss sleep or any of that other bullshit you will all probably move to australia

Evil Vito 10-13-2013 12:58 AM

Drew with a chance to be the hero after an over-the-shoulder catch saved 2 runs.
