Just finished binge-watching all five seasons of Game of Thrones, and was also watching Zoo and Fear the Walking Dead. Now Walking Dead's back on. So yeah, need more TV shows. But really, I just need to get out more and do something.
|
Get out and watch TV shows on your mobile. On a park bench or something.

Everything was great about this. Disco soundtrack was great to listen to. |
The Judge - 7/10
|
|
The Expendables 2 - 3.5 out of 5
|
Ex Machina-8/10
Pretty good sci-fi thriller. |
The Goonies - 1/10, my g/f loved it as a kid and she bought it in the Walmart $5 bin and I absolutely hated it and never would have enjoyed a movie like that, even "back in the day".....

|
A Haunted House - 2.5 out of 5
|
Skyfall - 8/10 - the first James Bond film I've seen since Die Another Day that I really enjoyed

Hellraiser 7/10
Hellbound: Hellraiser 2 6.7/10 |
Revolutionary Road 8/10
|
The Green Mile 8/10
|
Spectre: 8/10. Not better than Casino Royale, probably on par with Skyfall. Better than Quantum.
|
Pixels - 3/5
Really enjoyed this film. A lot of the typical Sandler humour is still there, and is very repetitive, but this film had a pretty unique/interesting story, and was just fun, really. |
Boyhood - 4/5
|
The Raid: Redemption - 3/5
Heard a lot about these films and highly rated they were for their fight scenes. The film was alright, but the shaky-cam was on full power in this flick, to the point that at times it was pretty hard to see what was going on. The fight scenes were amazing and very well choreographed, but kinda got a bit boring after a while. |

Also, 8/10 on this movie. Can we just call it "Machete's Daughter" on this one? :P http://horrornews.net/wp-content/upl...vie-horror.jpg |
Spectre - 3/5
Big disappointment. |
Wolf Warriors- Watched it on Netflix while Jessica Jones to drop. Aside from the subtitles not being very good I found the film enjoyable. In the reviews i saw complaints out it being nothing but propaganda but I think that is because we are used to seeing American films pushin American values. Every nation has a right to be proud of their military not just Americans.
Overall 6.5/10 would have rated it higher but having Scott Adkins in a film with not a great deal of hand to hand is just silly. |
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 7/10
|
http://www.yaske.cc/upload/images/b6...aab2c25d18.jpg
9/10 This movie has all the elements of a Psycho Norman Bates-ish vibe to it.. Boy works in a motel with dad instead of mom. He loses his mind everytime he gets depressed when customers that he likes are about to check out and never to visit again.. It's really quite disturbing to see such a 9 yr old going insane in the end. And I didn't know the boxer Floyd Mayweather was executive producer on this one esp. from Elijah Wood. http://www.flickeringmyth.com/wp-con...24-600x889.jpg A bit of I Spit On Your Grave vibe plus with a bit of reference from the other movie called, Shuttle. That twisted ending doe. I didn't expect that at all. 8/10. |
Bridge of Spies 7.5/10
|
Creed - 8/10
Pretty good... |
Creed 10/10
Awesome. That's Stallone's best performance since First Blood. |
Spotlight - 5/5
Batman got another shot at the Oscar that got stolen from him last year. |
Drive Angry - Hahahaha, Jesus Christ!/10
|
Pretty Poison - I really liked the plot of this movie. Anthony Perkins plays a weird guy who has just been released from prison for arson. He sees this hot little high school girl and pretends to be a CIA agent so she will like him/fuck him, but she ends up using him to kill her mother. I feel like this would have been a really great film if it came out 10 years later, I still liked it though.
Listen to Me Marlon - Weird and cool documentary about a weird and cool dude (Marlon Brando). Guy knew how to wear a T-Shirt too. |
Black Mass 7/10
|
Everything Must Go - 3/5. Was good, but nothing amazing. I think in the States this is known as "Neighbor for Sale"? Not sure.
|
Avengers: Age of Ultron - 4 out of 5.
Liked the first Avengers more and would have given this one a bit lower score had it not started to get real interesting near the end. |
Vacation-3 outta 5
Would have gotten a higher score but went for the obvious joke way too many times. |
The Ridiculous 6 - 7/10 - typical Adam Sandler, but still good for a laugh.... huge supporting cast makes it much better than it probably should have been....
|
Star Wars - 10 outta goddamn 10
|
Star Wars: The Force Awakens - 10/10
|
Star Wars: The Force Awakens 8.5/10
|
Downfall - 9/10
only took me 11 years |
Fast & Furious 6 8/10
Fast & Furious 7 8/10 The film are so OTT and ridiculous that you can't help but like them. |
Sisters - 7/10 - any fans of Tina Fey/Amy Poehler and their respective shows will love it, good for an overall laugh for non-fans of theirs....
|
The Walk - 8/10
Creed - 8.5/10 The Martian - 8.5/10 The Hateful Eight - 9.5/10 - probably in the top 3 Tarantino films for me |
In the Heart of the Sea - 2/5
|
The Big Short - 5/5
|
Lady Snowblood 8/10
Catching Fire 5/10 |
The Night Before - 6/10
The Hateful Eight - 8/10 |
Minions - 4 out of 5
|
The Hateful Eight - 8/10
Would have rated it higher but Tarantino can't help but be Tarantino and imo that took a little something away from the last half. |
Star Wars Force Awakens: 8.8/10
Creed: 8.5/10 Mockingjay 2: 5.5/10 |
Star Wars TFU: 10/10
|
Charlie Countryman
Spent most of the movie admiring and being jealous of Shia LaBeouf's hair |
Spectre - pass.fail
Creed - pass Star Wars - pass.pass |
Hitman Agent 47 6/10
|
The Big Short - 8/10
Steve Carell is a bonafide boss. |
The Hateful Eight - 4/5
|
The Force Awakens
Creed Room The Revenant Sicario Anomalisa He Never Died All v good Everest was right Joy was a bit shit |
Holy crap. Creed was amazing. Opening that package.
|
Interstellar 9/10
|
Star Wars
Thought it was funny how Adam from Girls was the bad guy, he was also in Inside Llewyn Davis, and so was the X-wing pilot guy. |
Django Unchained - 9/10
Wanted to finally watch this before seeing Hateful Eight... good movie. Love Tarantino. |

The Big Short - 7/10
I don't know. Wasn't totally feeling it. Felt a lot of the "funny moments" were really forced/not that funny, though that could've just been the shit audience I was with. The big "crescendo" moment with Steve Carrell on the stage felt like a let-down I guess. No idea how much of the movie is truth and how much is exaggerated etc |
I guess that's actually a bit of an unfair critique. I wanna compare the format of the movie to something like Idiocracy even though this one is more of an actual documentary (or biopic, or whatever).
I know Adam McKay does lots of funny movies, felt like maybe this one didn't need as much of that. idk. JUST ONE MAN'S OPINION |

loved it, everything "landed" with me
|
Hateful 8 -8/10 as most people have said the first half drags on too long but the 2nd half more than makes up for it.
Jennifer Jason Leigh deserves at least nomination for Best Actress (i see she got supporting actress in the Golden Globes but i dont get how shes a supporting actress). Felt like Tim Roth was supposed to be Christoph Waltz. |
I overheard someone say that Jennifer Lawrence was the first choice for the role.
|
Hateful Eight- I thought this was disappointing. I had no issue with the pacing or aesthetics of the film and there were a lot of things I liked about this but it felt pointless and at times dumb. Django and and Basterds felt like Tarantino celebrating cinema's ability to reclaim the brutalities of the past so the underdogs get their revenge, where this just felt nihilistic.
SPOILER: show Some other things annoyed me like when Tarantino's started narrating, and the slow motion shouting. Lots of good moments and great acting but as a whole the pay off wasn't enough to justify the 3 hour running time. 6/10 |
Hateful Eight 7/10
|
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed - 3/5
I don't get what the big deal was. Wasn't impressed. The Revenant - 4.5/5 |
Daddy's Home - I dunno, 6/10
Had its moments, got a few chuckles, but didn't really leave any sort of lasting impression on me. The best jokes were in the trailer IMO. |
The Hateful Eight: 9/10. Loved it. Brilliant dialogue as I've come to expect from Tarantino films.
|
The Hateful Eight - 8.5/10 - Very good, classic Tarantino, not as good as Django.... an infusion of Christoph Walsh would have made it 10/10 easy.....
|
Martian - 6/10. I was not feeling this movie

Forgetting Sarah Marshall - 3/5 We're the Millers - 3/5 |
The revenant - 8/10
|
Dallas Buyers Club- 7\10
Don't think it's as good as everyone says. |
The wife n I caught "Last Vegas" last night via Hulu. Great cast, decent story, the jokes landed for the most part. Pretty charming film and I love movies about Vegas.
7/10 |
Entertainment (2015) - 4/10
Watched this movie mainly because I like the person it's based on (Gregg Turkington / Neil Hamburger) but I did not like it. Don't like the director's movies. Felt the same way about his last movie (The Comedy). Had a few parts that I liked a lot but feels like it could have been condensed to a 15 min short film and have been way better. Bunch of intentionally drawn out scenes that are like 8 mins straight of nothing happening. Feels like I got sick of that "style" like 15 years ago via it "being done to death" by lots of independent films (and being done in a more interesting way than in this movie imo). w/e........ |
The Revenant - 9/10 - Amazing, as per the Leonardo DiCaprio standard....
|
On the flipside, I just got back from The Revenant and wasn't wholly impressed with it, based on all the accolades and critical acclaim it is getting
The Revenant - 7/10 Like... it's obviously a "good movie", I just didn't really get a ton out of it. SPOILER: show |
So I bought the James Bond Blu Ray Collection from Canada for 55 bucks last month, finally got around to it tonight with nothing better to do. Ive not seen in entirety most of the pre Brosnan Bonds with a couple of exceptions so..
Dr No - 6/10 really seemed like a dumb villian with a dumb plan. Ooh Im going to blow your rockets up with a radio wave beam generated by nuclear power from a contaminated island . I get the evil plots are convoluted sometimes but seriously... |
Powder- 5/7
|
The Big Short 8/10
If you don't hate bankers beforehand, you will after watching this film. |
Resident Evil: Retribution - 3.5 out of 5
|
Dirty Grandpa - 9/10
Way better than I was expecting. Maybe I'm over-rating it because I was so disappointed by Daddy's Home, but this was the best "raunchy/stupid comedy" I've seen in a while. Early on a few of the jokes fell a bit flat, and they went to the "haha saying vagina is funny" well a few too many times (but half of the time it was Aubrey Plaza so I'm okay with this) but man. Some great stuff. Good wrestling-related joke in the movie I won't spoil but I "laughed out loud" at the joke and the delivery of it, was real good |
