But seriously, I'd like to see the Pirates go far. Fanbase deserves it.

Adder 10-03-2013 12:26 PM

Read a report that says A-Rod was duped into taking steroids.

Awesome, you can't make this stuff up.

Boomer 10-03-2013 12:38 PM

Braves-Pirates NLCS would be amazing. Let's put Barry Bonds and Sid Bream back on the rosters too, while we're at it.

Schlomey 10-03-2013 12:39 PM

I think at this point A-Rod has reached OwenBrown status....the point where he realized he is hated and can't sink any lower so he has nothing left to lose.

I don't even wanna talk about it

1 comment: it may be time for AJ to hang it up.

Corndad 10-04-2013 12:00 AM

When AJ is on, he's really on, when AJ is off hes REALLY off. This is what all my Yankee friends were warning me about. Tomorrow's Game will pretty much determine how this series plays out.

Frank Drebin 10-04-2013 08:55 AM

Dusty Baker out in Cinci.

Supreme Olajuwon 10-04-2013 09:32 AM

Spot on really. In 2009 on the WS run, he was amazing, going 8 and allowing only a couple hits and a run. Then he can last 2 1/3 giving up 7.

road doggy dogg 10-04-2013 12:42 PM

Fuck wish I'd taken today off work. Quadruple playoff baseball header! And I'm stuck dicking about. At least I'll be able to catch the Dodgers and Tigers games. Could prolly listen to the other 2 on radio, but work has been "cracking down" on people listening to music etc in the plant so I'd be a huge ass heel listening to baseball in my office while they get nothin'

screech 10-04-2013 01:23 PM

Heel it up!

The Condor 10-04-2013 02:28 PM

Was surprised about Dusty Baker at first, but upon further reflection, the 'Natti have been underachievers the past few years. Perhaps it was time.

Schlomey 10-04-2013 02:58 PM

1. Dusty Baker has always been a lazy one trick pony. He is too old school and relies on the same line ups and the same players to perform....he doesn't know how to adjust the way other managers aka Clint Hurdle can.

2. Garrett Cole .....should have started yesterday.

ClockShot 10-04-2013 03:30 PM

Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, A-Rod is suing MLB and Buddy Boy for pretty much anything you can think of. Damaged reputation, buying out Bosch's cooperation, loss of #millionsofdollars in pay, collusion, etc.

Strangely or shockingly, the New York Yankees were not named in the suit.

Schlomey 10-04-2013 03:31 PM

and the bullshit slide into brown-dom is complete :(

Makes sense considering MLB didn't allow the Yankees (or any other team) to get dragged into the clinic mess in case lawsuits actually happened. Also no way A-Rod was going to risk tossing the Yanks under the bus considering he still needs them in case he somehow wins his appeal and already made them upset with the earlier rehab stuff.

If we can't locate Vito Cruz it is because he has downed copious amounts of sleeping pills and is waiting for the end in a bathtub. Matt Harvey missing 2014

Frank Drebin 10-04-2013 06:50 PM

Credgar, odds Girardi leaves the Yanks? Reports from Chicago are "He wants to and the Cubs want him" while reports out of the NY are saying "Why would he want to leave, his family likes it here and he has no intention of doing so."

It's really disappointing. However, it was probably the right move. In all probability, his elbow would have been a ticking time bomb. Any time he felt the slightest pain, there would've been concern that the elbow had gotten worse. Each pitch could have been the one that blew out his arm. Hopefully when he returns in 2015 he'll go back to being amazing.

On the downside, this does leave the Mets with another hole to fill in their rotation this offseason. Some of the flexibility they had with their pitching depth in the minors is gone. I really hope Alderson doesn't think "welp, we can't win in 2014 now" and back down on his word to finally start spending some money. I can't even fathom how disheartening it would be to see the Mets punt for the 4th offseason in a row and arrive in Spring Training in February with basically the same roster they have now.

Emperor Smeat 10-04-2013 07:45 PM

:D Lester was great today. Red Sox up 1-0.

I give it 66% chance he leaves for ChiTown(maybe even the 'Natti). Girardi isn't the right kind of manager for these Yankees.

Boomer 10-04-2013 10:44 PM

Best game of the postseason so far. Nailbiter.

$man said he'd up Girardi's pay.

Problem is, IF Girardi bolts, there's really nobody out there that I want to take over as manager. Front office might look inside and interview Tony Pena.

My eyes are on the Angels. See if Moreno fires Scioscia, then I want him.
