Why is linear a dirty word?

This hat thing in Mario is pretty cool. Didn't believe I would like it at first which is why I didn't get the game right away but boy was I wrong.

Little pissed I went and found all 50 pink coins and all I received for my trouble was a golf clap. Wtf is that.

Each world has X purple coins. Most (all?) 100 purple coin worlds have a moon that requires a specific costume. In a game of 900ish moons its totally skipable. Personally i liked hunting for them.

The second level I am in has 100 purple. Guessing the first level only had 50 since it's the first level. I will probably find them all and collect all the moons as I go. Otherwise the game will probably be incredibly short.

Super fun game. Wanted to skip my workout today hur forced myself to go. Just want to play Mario.

I think he means the progression system. You don't have to hunt down specific animals to get specific upgrades anymore, and can just do whatever to earn skill points.

Agreed on a linear approach being beneficial at times. Mirrors Edge works far better as a linear game, for instance.

Far Cry formula is still here. But it's been tweaked up in some areas.

I go back and forth on a lot of different games at once.

Currently, Final fantasys' 4- 9, sims 4, WWE/F games, Pokemon yellow, DBZ games.

Just survived six days.

I've been watching clips of the P4 anime, the protagonist seems to be in full on troll choice mode 90% of the time :lol: Still more likable than the P3 protagonist, that guy is a dickhole. I'm interested to see how they handle Joker.

Ren/Joker was mostly silent. Not sure if he got a full sentence out tbh

Haha, of all three protagonists Joker seemed to suit the strong and silent archetype the most, he's a man of action and is supposed to keep a low profile. Pretty hard to get a word in with Ryuji and Mona around tbf. Maybe he'll speak up more when they get into the social links stuff.

Im liking Yu so far. Typical silent protag i suppose but he has a swagger i like. Yukiko has early bid for best girl

Yu has a real quiet confidence to him, Dojima and Nanako also flesh him out tons more than your usual silent protagonist gets the benefit of.

I was considering going with Rise on NG+ but I don't know if I can break Yukiko like that :heart:

I’m trying to get through some of the greatest games I’ve never played. Having a modern game break with Rise of the Tomb Raider then it’s either Ocarina or Super Metroid.

I went straight into NG+ and they're the same arcana but really different in tone. Soccer link is pretty weak, you get both sports bros as the link regardless of what you pick but the story isn't the same. Culture clubs are totally unrelated, Drama and music is like a choice between befriending a bitch in a club or befriending a club's bitch.

Oh yeah totally, the school drama club is run by ego. It's a pretty accurate representation of amateur theatre in general, she is a talent and has that desire to do well but once you get further into the link she's just not fun to hang with haha. You'll see.

Drama club is better than music club though, music girl is a total beta. You'd hate her.

Introduction of the Hermit was so ridiculous I totally lost it, not even sure why. Out of all the bizarre shit that happens in this series that was the one thing that got me.
