You know, Coach doesn't get enough props than he should. Even from myself. Looking back, he was always a trooper and did what he was told, he could actually talk and was pretty entertaining.

He came at a time when Ross was still doing amazing work and the King was still entertaining. That didn't help..

True, but his announcing was only part of what was good about him.

That was what pissed me off though. I didn't want to see the announcers in storylines and they were force-feeding him down our necks. Coach giving up announcing and becoming a manager would have been fine but, they had to try to make him into a heel character and it didn't really work for me.

Michael Cole's heel persona, on the other hand, was more organic. Sure it's over the top for him to hate indie wrestlers so much but, it makes sense and is a result of a gradual character arc.

Yeah, I see where you're coming from and completely agree. Announcers shouldn't be used as characters like Coach was used. Coach was more of a Hornswaggle or Santino, not a Michael Cole.

He's one of the only guys who can consistently play both heel and face and make it work. He has a lot to give as a fill-in guy/a go-to guy for when they don't have anyone else. But in terms of his legacy, I think he's done what he's going to do. Maybe a few more title runs and a few Mania main events but he's had his day in the sun.

I'm not sure if that was an official shirt. I don't even know if they made any Goldust shirts.
