Blue Velvet: 7.4/10
There were times during this film that I wanted to simply shut it off, others that enraptured me, and cinematic decisions that were purely questionable and seemingly irrelevant to the story and plot of the film. But it was pretty good for whatever it was trying to be. Essentially, it was a sexual and violent prototype of the films that Wes Anderson has perfected over the course of the past 15 years. |
Mad Max: Fury Road... 0.0/10.. Dull dialogue but the villains death race cars have more personality... Michael Bay's wetdream of explosions and car chases. I still fail to see the appeal of Mad Max's character as a whole..
|
Ex Machina - 8/10
Really enjoyed it. The guy who played Nathan was really good... cool guy |

And, I never understand the appeal of the franchise or the character as a whole. http://pics.filmaffinity.com/It_Foll...3421-large.jpg 10/10... Even better is that I saw this in a complete empty seat theater. All by myself.. It just increased my phobia of being alone walking home after dark. |
Mad Max: Fury Road 7.5/10
Very loud and a tad bonkers. |
Pitch Perfect 2 - 7/10 - got dragged to the movies by the g/f, was not terrible and I chuckled a few times.... plus staring at Anna Kendrick for almost 2 hours made the movie bearable
|
Mad Max: Fury Road - 9/10
I may even bump this to a 10. It was a fantastic movie. Crazy action scenes, very chaotic, loud, ridiculous, absurd. Loved it. The dude wailing on the guitars intermittently throughout the car chases was just icing on the cake. Supposedly lots of "feminist stuff" in it as well, but I don't really concern myself with that. Charlize Theron was a BAMF all throughout, however. |
Five Broken Cameras (2011) - 10/10
A Palestinian uses five video cameras (that were all shot at / destroyed) to document his village's nonviolent protests against Israel illegally taking over huge parts of their land, and the Israeli human garbage army's responses... murdering his friends, purposefully breaking their bones, arresting him and others, etc. Really "powerful" and depressing. Was nominated for "Best Documentary" Academy Award. Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief (2015) - 6/10 Was alright I guess... Learned some stuff... Power and Terror: Noam Chomsky in Our Times (2002) - 6/10 The content was interesting (basically just straight clips of Chomsky's talks) but seemed lazily put-together as a "documentary." |

Avengers 2: Age of Ultron - 3/5
Tough one to grade. The more I was watching, the more I thought this was 2 hour 20 minute episode of The Blacklist. Love James Spader, but in the end, I think he was mis-cast for the role of Ultron. Just heard too much Red Reddington the whole time. Mad Max: Fury Road - 4.5/5 Awesome flick. Wanted so much more. Everybody played their part perfectly. Shaved half a point because I think Tom Hardy should have said a little bit more than just 100 words give or take over the course of the whole movie. |
Inglorious Basterds - 10/10
So much fun. |
Hot Tub Time Machine 2 Big fat 0
Made my head hurt |

|
Draft Day - 3/5
Add another good one to the Kevin Costner sport films collection. |
Back to the Future: 6.1/10
Finally got around to it. It was okayish, but I still don't "get it." |
Just finished watching Transformers: Age of Extinction. It was alright. My thought throughout most of the film were that it wasn't nearly as bad as people made it out to be... but around to two hour mark it really started to drag. Felt like the film was just repeating itself over and over.
Overall, I'd probably give it a 3/5. |
Mad Max: Fury Road - 9/10
Pretty "cool" how they got away with making the movie like 97% chase scene, but still managed to get in some nice "character moments" and stuff.... Also, good action. Saw it in 3D and also didn't mind the 3D.... first time in a long time where I didn't find the 3D distracting.... |
Pitch Perfect 2 - 7/10
1st one was a little better but this was passable. |
San Andreas- 7/10
Lots of destructive action, no real slow moments during the movie, and a great cast. |
San Andreas- 7/10
Lots of destructive action, no real slow moments during the movie, and a great cast. |
Far From the Madding Crowd - 4.5 out of 5 needs more explosions, at least some sheep died violently and there was some bare knuckle fighting.

I agree with the rating though. Best part of the movie was that the seats were leather and reclined. Had worked a full shift at work before and it was hot as hell outside.
|
Thor: Dark World - 4 out of 5
|
Tomorrowland-9/10
great cast with a wonderful storyline that really made you think. Highly recommend this movie to everyone |
Aloha - 6/10 - After hearing but negative reviews and how terrible it was (despite having a pretty well-known cast), I didn't expect much, but it was a solid movie....I guess native Hawaiians were pissed that Emma Stone was playing a character that was 1/4 Hawaiian....didn't effect my enjoyment of the movie at all as I would do unmentionable things to Emma's body, so if you are from Hawaii and get butt-hurt easily, don't watch this movie
|
San Andreas 7/10 (6.5/10, but I gave an extra .5 for Alexandra Daddario... I can see why people are fapping over her)
|

some mad good aerial shots of NFL stadiums. Do you have any information on those aerials? RT@mitch_h |
Avengers gets a pass
Mad Max: Fury Road gets a pass.fail. The constant desert scene makes me anxious. And I don't want to live in that universe at all. Not as a civilian. Not as a major character. Nothing. I would hate always being on edge. Tomorrowland has an amazing score and cool visuals but boy, that ending would be really difficult to follow if I was less than 14 years old. I thought this was made for kids. Maybe it's not. pass.fail |
You seem to be always on edge anyways.
|
Mad Max: Subtle Feminist Agenda - 9/10
|
Sex Ed w/ Haley Joel Osment playing the role of teacher who teaches Sex Ed to detention students and tries to get a grip on life and get his piss on.
8/10 It's on Netflix, no explosions or fancy graphics, just a man trying to teach these keeds and get his bone on with one of his student's older sister. |
San Andreas - 6/10
Hit pretty much every "disaster movie" note, which is fine for what it is. Enjoyable. Gonna go tug it over Daddario too brb |
Insidious Chapter 3: 7/10. Slightly better than the Chapter 2.. But a prequel ain't that bad.. I wish it would end here. Otherwise, having another Chapter might be a downer.
Jurassic World 10/10... The Mesosaurus made Jaws look like a goddamn goldfish tank watching boring. As for the Raptors having made their peace with Starlord and fighting other dinos really made me feel like a 90's kid again... Also, the familiar theme from the 1st movie was totally respectful.. They even had references to the old first park esp. the familiar items used in the 1st movie from Hammond which is now in ruins! |
A Pigeon Sat on a Branch Reflecting on Existence (2014) - 10/10
Freaking sweet... feels like nothing will beat this as my favorite movie of the year. Basically a bunch of short "absurd" vignettes. Very bleak and v funny as heck to me. From Roy Andersson. Highly recommend all of his "work." <3333333 him |
Jurassic World 8/10

Had some tears in my eye when the original theme first hit loudly. Anybody who voted T2 theme over Jurassic Park theme doesn't know shit. Probably 8/10 too. Pretty packed theater and it was like an 11pm showing. |
Spy - 7/10 - Not as good as The Heat, but still pretty good....Jason Statham is amazingly funny....
|
Beginners - 7/10
|
It Follows - I had heard good things but this was better than I thought. It's about this girl who fucks this guy and is informed that this ghost thing will follow her and kill her if it gets close enough and the only way to get rid of it is to fuck someone else. The concept sounds dumb on paper but it was well executed. Cool Detroit setting and the characters felt "real". The idea of a slow moving unrelenting creature following you around at all times is very unsettling to me, reminded me of this Jehovah witness kid named Adam that always tried to hang out with me. 8/10
The Trial - Orson Welles adaptation of the Franz Kafka story. Very cool cinematography/set design, but it felt a bit muddled and I didn't really like Anthony Perkins as Joseph K. 7/10 Labor Day - This movie is fucked, a total train-wreck that I can't believe was made in the year 2013. It's about an escaped convict (Josh Brolin) who kidnaps a sweaty housewife (Kate Winslet) and her kid (some kid) and they slowly grow to love him. I'll give y'all the low-down. SPOILERS SPOILERS SPIOLERS SRELIOPS -The main kid is so dull and lame, he gives his mother a husband coupon book for her birthday, where he does husbandly things, he can't fuck her though, but knows that is what she needs. - When Josh Brolin is not grabbing Kate Wislet by her mouth and hiding behind a door-frame, he is changing the oil on her car, waxing the floor, playing guitar, changing the furnace filter, making delicious food and teaching the neighbourhood kid with Cerebral Palsy how to play baseball. - Bizarre and sensual pie making scene. - After like three days Brolin has assumed the role of doting husband and stern but supportive father. - Kid with cerebral palsy is tactlessly used for suspense. Brolin's mugshot appears on TV screen as his mother comes to pick him up, he tries forcing out Brolin's name but is slapped across the face by his impatient mother. - It is decided that they will all flee for Canada, Brolin and Winslet make the kid go to the library to pick up a book on Newfoundland so they can learn about Canada and because they want to fuck. - Kid has strong sexual urges and visions at night of little blonde classmate and women's eyes from Glamour magazine. - We find out that Brolin went to jail for pushing his wife into a radiator because she was a slut, plus he was so busy killing his wife that he forgot about his baby in the tub, he's not such a bad guy after all. - Kate Winslet has a severe nervous condition after having four miscarriages but her love for Brolin is beautiful and true and not because she is a broken down, lonely woman. - Neighbour finds out about Brolin and he goes to jail. The movie jumps forward in time and the kid has grown into dull and lame Toby Maguire, he now owns a bakery and makes pies. - Brolin is let out of jail and meets up with Winslet and they walk away hand in hand. |
Labor Day def seemed really bizarre. They played the trailer before some movie I saw and most of the theater started laughing and stuff... seemed like a "joke" but was not I guess...
|
Gone Girl - 7/10 - A pretty interesting story with a shit ending
Birdman - 9/10 - Not something I'd usually go for but ended up really enjoying it. The camera work was incredible |

It Follows - 8/10
I didn't find it that scary. Creepy, yes, scary, no. Saying that though, I did like the idea behind it, along with the cinematography and it did have a classic/80's horror movie feel to it, which I also liked. Also, I really enjoyed the soundtrack. If a sequel does happen, I'd be up for seeing it, even though personally I'm not a big fan of horror movies, but if the sequel is about the origin of "It", as some people have mentioned, then I'd be interested. The Guest - 7/10 Nothing really stood out about the movie apart from the soundtrack, which just like It Follows, I enjoyed. The film did have a bit of an 80's feel to it and it was a bit absurd at certain moments, which did give me and my friends a bit of a laugh. |
Both movies did contain Maika Monroe though, who, before watching It Follows, I had never heard of.
Now though, I guess you can call me a fan. :naughty: |
Jurassic World : 4.4/10
Whatever |
I saw Jurassic World the other day. I rate that day 8/10. I'll give the movie 7/10
|
Inside Out
9/10 Right behind all the Toy Story movies as the best Pixar flim. |
Taken 3 6/10
|
Jurassic World - 10/10
Delivered on the hype and then some |
Equilibrium - 4/5
I wonder who was doing Gun Fu first? Christian Bale in this, or Tres Iques in Trinity Blood. Anyway, Angus MacFayden put on some weight over the years with how he looks now in Turn. Damn. Good flick, regardless. |
Ted 2: 8/10 - Not as good as the first, but I didn't expect it to be, still worth my money.... loads of laughs and lots of great jokes that only I laughed at in the theater, most notably Patrick Warburton dressed as The Tick at Comic-Con....
|
Jurassic World 9/10
Pretty sweet... |
Ted 2-7.5/10 i agree not as great as the first but I have to say I loved all the surprise cameos in the movie, loved Patrick Warburton dressed as the Tick.
My favorite moment is the scene with Liam Neeson. |
Ted 2: 7/10-Not as good as the last one. Not enough of the idiot manager from the first one who was the star of the last movie to me.
Inside Out: 8/10. Pretty good. The short "Lava" blew it away though. |

"Let's make another Jurassic Park movie, full of a bunch of cool CGI shit since the tech has come a lomg way since 93! What? Plot? Likable characters? Fuck that shit, DINOSAURS!" |
Movie was great.

Terminator Genisys - 7/10
Better than T3 and Salvation, but doesn't touch T2. Emilia Clarke didn't really convince as Sarah Connor; she looked too "soft" and girly compared to how Linda Hamilton appears in T2 (ready for a fight). |
Had the same problem with Clarke. Linda Hamilton trained her ass off for T2 and when came time to film she looked like a fucking beast. They should have gotten someone who has more of a pedigree in asskicking roles, like Jovovich or Beckinsale.
Really fun movie though. Enjoyed it a lot. |
Ted 2 - 7.5/10 I agree wit previous posts about it not being as good as the first, but it was still entertaining and the Liam Neeson scene and The Tick costume killed me.
|
Jurassic World - 9/10. Could've been the replacement of Jurassic park 3 instead.
Terminator Genisys - 10/10. I agree with James Cameron's review on it. Emilia is 3rd place as Sarah. Lena Headey could've been better Sarah Connor despite she was quite good in TSCC. As for the Easter egg ending, don't leave the theater just yet. |
I Saw the Devil - 8/10
Koreans are fucking crazy. |
Ted 2 - 8/10
Jokes were all very predictable/telegraphed etc.. but it didn't matter. Laughed my ass off. Surprisingly topical/relevant jokes. SPOILER: show |
I finally saw Dawn of the Planet of the Apes on HBO (yes I have HBO #ballin) and I though it was decent. However, I will give the movie 8.3/10 bc Keri Russell was in the movie from the WB HTD Felicity. She was one of my favs back in the day, after JLH and SMG of course. Shisen fact, my birthday is on the same day as Keri Russell's.
|
Ted 2: 7.5/10
Felt a bit long for a comedy, was kinda ready to wrap things up way before the movie itself ended. Still a lot of funny stuff though. I echo the sentiments about The Tick being glorious. |
Jurassic Park - 7/10 (So much nostalgia)
|
Terminator Genisys - 7.5/10
Would have rated higher but the last 5 mins left me feeling meh |
I'm scared to watch it. The general consensus I've heard is "worst than 1 and 2, better than 3 and 4", which is kind of what I expected

Never understood why T3 gets the hate it does. I'm a huge terminator fan and while nothing can live up to the originals, I thought the third one was a solid entry in the franchise and 10x better than Salvation.
|
Salvation was ok I guess, but didn't feel like a Terminator movie at all.
|
Housebound 8/10
Kylie Bucknell is forced to return to the house she grew up in when the court places her on home detention. Her punishment is made all the more unbearable by the fact she has to live there with her mother Miriam - a well-intentioned blabbermouth who's convinced that the house is haunted. |
Big Hero 6 - 9/10..... good movie.... very "emotional" at times....
|
Decided to watch another animated kids movie....
Despicable Me - 8/10.... enjoyed it.... |
Recently I finished up watching all the Fast and Furious movies except for 7 which I haven't seen.... I would rank them:
Fast Five Fast and Furious 6 2 Fast 2 Furious Fast & Furious (4) The Fast and the Furious The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (This is the only one I would classify as bad/terrible) |
Jurassic World - 7.5/10
Very solid, very well made but the dinosaurs don't really do it for me these days. My 10-year old self would surely give it a 10. |
Minions - 10/10
Loved it so muchhhhhhhhhhh |
Watched Despicble Me 2 the other day.... 7.5/10... not as good as the first, but still good.
Kind of want to see Minions, but "kids movies" are the only movies I feel "embarassed" to go to by myself.... |
In the words of Sam Witwicky, JUST DO IT
|
Also re: Minions
I don't know if it was because I went to a different theater than my usual spot, but I thought the 3D in the movie was the best I've seen in quite some time. Everything looked amazing. |
Jurrasic World - fail.pass
|
Leon: The Professional pass.fail
|
The Cobbler - pass
|
Ant Man 9/10
|
It Follows- 10/10
Fuck me that was the best horror movie I've seen in a really long time. |
Terminator Genisys 7.5/10 - Dunno... might bump it up. Don't know what to make of it right now. Not a "fan" of it going for setting up a franchise series instead of feeling like a "complete" movie. Danaerys alright as Sarah Connor but not as good as Cersei Lannister.
|
Ant Man - 10/10

Ant Man - 10/10

Jurassic World-6/10
It was entertaining but the characters were pretty shallow. That charming Chris Pratt stole the show and watching a greasy Bryce Dallas Howard running around in a tanktop was fun. Definitely better than the previous two. |
Trainwreck - 6/10
I had a lot of fun. Cena and LeBrown were top notch. |
