You kid but isn't that one of the reasons why Punk had a falling out with Cabana?

Sepholio 09-03-2023 01:58 PM

Laugh if Punk shoots on AEW and then they sue him for defamation or slander or whatever.

GD 09-03-2023 02:04 PM

Meltzer is suggesting that it was more than just lunging.

Splaya 09-03-2023 02:07 PM

Meltzer suggests a lot of things. Doesn't make it truthful

Meltzer: This just in. The sun came out today. I am also the most respected journalist in the business.

Stu Hart 09-03-2023 02:14 PM

Funk, Bray, Punk...What a fucking week eh guys?

You can’t go to work and attack your coworkers or boss and expect to remain employed, anecdotal evidence and experiences aside.

I love Punk as a wrestler. I love his promos, I love his approach to storytelling, I enjoy his in ring work for the most part. But he’s obvs a cancer at this point. Jack Perry is a nobody and letting a nobody get under your skin like that is unacceptable. He could’ve just gone to Tony privately and told him he’s pissed and something needs to be done, Perry gets suspended or whatever and we move on to bring Ricky Starks a big ppv match to pay off a long build.

Instead, Punk is a whiny man baby who can’t control himself, attacks Perry, puts non wrestling employees at risk, allegedly threatened to quit and lunges at his boss, and now gets what he had coming to him.

Yes, Khan should’ve nipped this type of behavior in the bud after the brawl out incident. But he didn’t. He tried to let it pass and keep both parties happy and separate. One of those parties just keeps finding trouble. And as much as I don’t really care for the Bucks in any way, they’re proving they’re smarter than Punk by staying outta trouble and just doing their jobs instead of letting petty little comments from mid card acts set them off.

It was fun while it lasted. Can’t see Punk getting the kind of chance Tony gave him ever again. This was his shot to be everything he claimed he was and wanted to be. And he’s flushed that down the shitter.

Look at the stir this story causes. Just a few days ago, Bryan Alvarez had to walk back his story about Punk and Miro getting into it. Now Meltzer, who is very much in one camp, is trying to rewrite the story to make Punk even worse. That’s the same week as using Bray Wyatt’s death to try and put AEW in a good light.

You’re nuts if you believe Dave Meltzer is doing unbiased journalism. Especially when his stance is “I was being too nice before and sitting on information that could destroy my friends’ enemy.”

Punk may or may not have lashed out. I still don’t believe the incident, as now being reported, makes sense. There are too many bullshit markers. I’m a believer in Occam’s razor. Punk having enough and lashing out could be the simplest explanation. I think Punk threatening to quit and AEW/the dirt sheets blowing up the incident is pretty damn likely too.

I’m looking forward to Punk’s response. I’m sure it will throw everything into chaos again. He sits on a lot. The stuff with Moxley last time was just insane.

Had an issue at work a little bit ago where a group of staff members were deliberating excluding/bullying one of their peers. Eventually this lead to a rather heated confrontation on the floor with the staff member who had been allegedly bullied flipping out and causing a commotion on the floor.

The investigation showed that the group would often make fun of the staff member's weight, would move/hide their belongings, had a chat on work computers that said obscene things about him and deliberately made his life difficult. Ultimately, two were terminated and the others received final warnings.

Yeah, anyone who has seen bullying or harassment in the workplace knows it’s not as simple as firing the target to rid the problem. You’re still left with the ugly instigators, and guess what? They’ll find a new target.

Bodyslam put out a report that upon Regal’s debut at Revolution in 2022, Punk had an altercation with Regal, telling him he no longer respected him and making it clear he didn’t want him in AEW because he was a stooge for Triple H

SRS and others have picked it up and reposted it, some seemingly acknowledging they’d known of this story for ages but nobody let it out until now? I guess now is the time shit like this would get out but whether true or not the timing makes it easy for people to believe it or discredit it depending on what “side” you are on

Evil Vito 09-03-2023 11:36 PM

If by some chance that story were actually true though, fucking lol imagine going on a huge rant about disrespect after shitting on a guy universally respected in the business. Fuck I think Regal had a hand in training Punk, even.

What I read is that Punk said he didn’t like or trust Regal. Not that he didn’t respect him. If it’s true at all. Punk told Regal to his face in that story. Didn’t do anything on-air to sabotage Regal.

People bringing it up now like Regal didn’t bail on AEW because it was a nightmare filled with disrespect 2 months after CM Punk was suspended.

Also, lol at the idea of it being egregious Punk doesn’t respect Regal, but there’s a clique in AEW who get off on disrespecting Punk and other vets. Come on.

Mr. Nerfect 09-04-2023 06:10 AM

Lol, Andrade made a tweet thanking CM Punk and saying he wants to see him in the ring and they have an impending match. Andrade gives zero fucks.

Ol Dirty Dastard 09-04-2023 07:59 AM

I love Regal. But calling him a stooge for HHH isn't a stretch lol.

Vastardikai 09-04-2023 08:16 AM

There is another bit to this story that is more concerning, beyond Punk being a prick. That isn't news, even if it is true (hint: I just broke the x button on my controller.)

These folks, supposed "journalists", are sitting on stories that could potentially make folks look bad? What else are they hiding? I know Last knows things about Omega, and has implied that it may involve Riho.

GD 09-04-2023 09:21 AM

I don’t see what the big deal is that he didn’t want to shake Regal’s hand. The man is allowed to have an opinion.

Sepholio 09-04-2023 09:34 AM

It's not a big deal, just funny because of how he gets pissed off about people who don't shake his hand.

Ah yes! Punk is a walking contradiction in that regards. Rules for thee, not for me.

Ol Dirty Dastard 09-04-2023 09:46 AM

Well when you're the greatest man who's ever lived, everyone should shake your hand and kiss your ring. And when they don't, you should threaten to choke them out since you're a BJJ white belt!

GD 09-04-2023 10:02 AM

Wow! Can't believe Hangman would stoop so low after someone lost their job.

Oh all the negative shit about Punk is going to come out for sure now. Who is leaking it...if I had to take an educated guess, it doesn't come from the Elite but people they know and trust to leak the information. A friend of a friend of a cousin of the Young Bucks type shit.

Punk is going to be made to look like shit during this and shocker...HE DESERVES IT. This wasn't just about coming in and doing what he did. This wasn't just about helping to write Collision and making it to be a show on the level of Dynamite. This could have been the ultimate FUCK YOU middle finger to the WWE for letting him go all those years ago. And instead of giving them the middle finger, he basically gave a middle finger to the fans that have supported him over the years.

It's a sad story and I would not not be surprised if this would be an episode of Dark Side of the Ring in 3-5 years. I believe they said they were not making anymore episodes of that (someone correct me) but this story is too good not to do some form of a documentary on it over the past 365 days.

Destor 09-04-2023 11:04 AM

Its pretty unlikely its bucks and co. They had no reason not to bury him before. Most likely its a fence sitter who was waiting to see which political party was going to win. That said i dont follow dirt sheet gossip too seriously. In this day in age have the balls to tweet about it and see how it all plays out.

Sepholio 09-04-2023 11:05 AM

They should call it CM Punked Out

How come Punk is still friends with Samoa Joe then? Joe had the exact same job Regal did. Joe worked with/for the exact same guy Regal did. Just another example of Punk having no self awareness or understanding of what hypocrisy is.

They’re different people. It’s similar work but it doesn’t mean they went about it the same way. Punk has had friends and peers that went through developmental/dealt with them. He could be taking up for a buddy.

We also don’t know for sure Punk and Joe are still friends, or whether Punk just has professional respect for the guy.

It’s not like Punk went behind Regal’s back and made passive aggressive videos on YouTube about it (which The Elite are still doing). He apparently went right up to him and told him. We don’t know he was disqualifying Regal’s on-screen credentials.
