I was thinking the same thing. They should have been solely focused on their actual opponents. They were going after the big dogs who only work part-time while everyone else scraps away each week. Or maybe they were just going after big stars. There's no "justice" in that, though. And I do get that The Shield are heels and thus can be liars, but it just seems like they would have more of a "reason" for attacking The Undertaker and Triple H.

Cause these people being pushed even though the fans boo them is an injustice!

Nah no idea. Spot on assessment Fan.

I genuinely thought for a second that if there's ever a point where they feel the need to have The Shield explain this, that would be their explanation. lol

Mr. Nerfect 04-23-2013 12:17 AM

After they become WWE Tag Team Champions at Extreme Rules, I wouldn't be opposed to seeing them attack the loser of the Steel Cage Match (most likely Triple H) and really bust them up inside the cage.

Mr. Nerfect 04-23-2013 12:18 AM

If they ever did need to explain the John Cena injustice, they could go after him talking about his redemption story despite being an eleven-time WWE Champion.

I remember when they first started, it seemed like everyone (including myself) was worried that they were gonna be just another generic "here to make an impact" stable. Then they had the "fixing injustices" thing and the "are they working for Punk/Heyman?" thing and it seemed like maybe WWE was thinking long-term. Doesn't seem to be the case now.

Actually, back when they started, they randomly attacked Santino and Zack Ryder on an episode of Superstars which kinda went against the whole "fixing injustices" thing from the get-go.

Sounded pretty painful to me.

Had to curse and pander to smarks with "super cena" just to get a reaction.

You sound like Bizarro Gertner.

Eh, RAW was mediocre.

Can we officially throw the "fixing injustices" thing in as the newest example of WWE trying to do something interesting but ultimately having no idea where to go with it?

They went into detail in regards to their reason for going after the Undertaker tonight.

Yeah because they're really going to pull out all the stops for a taped show where the spoilers were available earlier in the day.

What about Cena and Ryback?

If the show wasn't dull the spoilers would have helped them get viewers who would still want to see the show irregardless.

SlickyTrickyDamon 04-23-2013 02:36 AM

They've already said why they attack Cena it's because he get unlimited title shots when he wasnt champion. Ryback was probably a red herring so when they allign with him it's a bigger shock.

Or they feel they are above heel or face status ala the Nexus.

The Naitch 04-23-2013 03:46 AM

The NXT ConNeXTion should be their real name

I was half-expecting the 6-man tag match to just be a way to introduce the Undertaker as the man leading the Shield. I'm not sure why, it just felt that way.

It sucked last week as well. And making a half-asssed show just because it's not live is an understandable reason but it's still a foolish short cut. Overseas RAW deserves a good show as much as any other "big city".

James Steele 04-23-2013 04:38 AM

They got HBK/Cena II. They need to just shut the fuck up, drink their tea, and enjoy what they get.

Wasn't a terrible promo, but certainly nothing to start praising his mic skills over.

VSG 04-23-2013 10:00 AM

Wwe.com has an article up on a possible 4th member leading the shield.

Probably all part of some bigger picture where I'll eat it up and they'll hurt me again...

MIZantine Empire 04-23-2013 11:53 AM

If I had to bet, I'd say the 4th man is orton. Because he has absolutely nothing to do with the ryback or the jorts. It's confusing enough to work!

Cool King 04-23-2013 01:20 PM

Raw's Dark Match.

SPOILER: show

Don't try this at home.

Oh, the parking lot? Yeah, that's totally fine. Have fun.

Alvin Hobbs 04-23-2013 02:03 PM

I think it'd be kind of cool if Triple H were the one to be revieled as the one behind The Shield.

mike adamle 04-23-2013 02:04 PM

Yeah that'd be real cool. The only thing cooler would be if Kassius Ohno were revealed to be the one behind The Shield :y:

Alvin Hobbs 04-23-2013 02:04 PM

What a good idea :y:

mike adamle 04-23-2013 02:10 PM

Thanks bro :y:

It is when his mic skills were bashed based on absolutely nothing. People were bitching that he probably couldn't work the mic before he ever even really cut a promo. lol

Ermaximus 04-23-2013 03:37 PM

Maybe it'll be Dibiase. He bought the Shield to terrorize the WWE?

#1-norm-fan 04-23-2013 03:43 PM

A Ted DiBiase push? I'm for it!

Though I would miss the Dibiase Posse.

XL 04-23-2013 05:47 PM

The Shield shouldn't have a "higher power".

Lock Jaw 04-23-2013 05:51 PM

Big E's NXT theme was pretty rad:

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/EX6PSOrVbSU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Not sure why they would change it.

Lock Jaw 04-23-2013 05:53 PM

Only words I understood in his new theme were "3 ain't enough, I need 5".... but then he doesn't even use the 5-count gimmick.

Tornado 04-23-2013 06:53 PM

I was at Raw last night, no complaints about the show.

Incredible crowd, electric atmopshere, been to quite a few UK Raw's and this was by far the best.

Guy behind me brought a giant inflatable dolphin (as in dolph-fan) and a massive "to the ring! to the ring" chant broke out, until a guard confiscated it, also saw a lot of signs being taken away.

Lot's of Fandango'ing throughout the arena and concourses. Highlight being a Fandango sing-along in the toilets.

"I never thought i'd be Fandango'ing while having a piss"
"I never thought i'd use a Cesaro match as a pissbreak"

Enjoyed the Mexican wave during Dolph v Y2J.

Haven't seen all of it on DVR yet, but Cena is hated by the UK crowd, deafening boos!

Mooияakeя™ 04-23-2013 09:17 PM

Yeah, Punk is the 4th member of the Shield btw.

Tommy Gunn 04-24-2013 07:59 AM

Adding Punk to The Nexus killed it, I hope they leave The Shield alone.

Joesgonnakillyou 04-24-2013 08:24 AM

WWE.com speculating about a 4th member of the shield means there is no 4th member of the shield.

They should keep doing what they're doing until tension rises between Ambrose and Reigns, with Rollins playing peacekeeper. Play that out for a while and then they can finally lose a match, Ambrose and Reigns argue after the match and Rollins seperates them and tries to calm them both down, they attack him, and Rollins turns face.
