Whacha gonna do brotha, when Peytonmania runs wild on you?!?!?

Jesus Shuttlesworth 10-16-2006 12:35 PM

I'm not gonna sit here and say I predicted the Saints to be one of the better teams this season, cause I didn't. I can't say I'm overly surprised though.

If you really think about it, before the hurricane the Saints had 4 winning seasons in a row. Now they return back to the Superdome with a lot of support (pretty sure all the games sold out right away) Offensely their improvements where obvious. Drews Brees came in from the Chargers (this may be a reason why the Saints were not hyped up too much leading up to this year, since his arm status wasn't really known) Duece came in pretty healthy and you added the best player from college Reggie Bush (still don't know how the Texans past this guy up) While Bush isn't the front runner for ROY (that dudes in New England) he's been a big factor. Plus they've been getting great play from their rookie wideout Colston and got a new coach. I'd say they are for real, I don't think they are going to win the Superbowl or anything but they will definetly be in the playoffs.

I still can't believe they fucked up what we had there. The Vikings are not the same team. People liked the Vikings because they always had good recievers and a good offense. Whether it was Carter, Moss, Jake Reed, even Koren Robinson worked somewhat, but now the VIkings are boring and defensive minded. People don't want to see that in Minnesota, and the Metrodome is barely selling out now, if at all. People never cared that the Vikings didn't win a Super Bowl because they were fun to watch. Now, they won't win a SUper Bowl and are boring to watch.

It will take a people for people to realize that about Brad Johnson... he can't get us there... but a lot of fans think that a good offense meant we couldn't win, because "defense wins championships." They never consider that Daunte Culpepper, Randy Moss, with our defense as it is now would be FAR different than it was with Robert Tate and Greg Biekert on defense. Our defense is so good, even though we suck on offense and always give the ball back to the other team (which is a main argument against Culpepper, that turnovers tired out the defense -- well so do 3-and-outs) The only difference is... if we put up 21 points on the board, we can run the ball successfully.

But what you're thinking about is what I said on the MySpace Vikings group: Red McCombs ruined the old Vikings, and it will take a long time for us to get a new personality. From 92-2004 we were still in the Denny Green era. Our defense was shaping up, but we were imploding. Thanks to Red McCombs, we will have to sit through this shit for a few more years while the team struggles to get its personality back.

McLegend 10-16-2006 11:59 PM

Cardinals suck at running

McLegend 10-16-2006 11:59 PM

Wow Rackers career is ruined

DrA 10-17-2006 12:03 AM

Rex Grossman was horrible tonight, and I think losing would have actually been better for the team to give them a sort of reality check. I wouldn't be surprised if this kind of performance from Grossman comes later again deep in the playoffs, only they won't be playing a team that will give them a win like that.

RoXer 10-17-2006 12:05 AM

Only real problems tonight were the O-Line's running game and the big 180 of Neil Rackers. I still love him for the time being though.

Also, if they had Fitz, they might scored even more. IFS AND BUTS

DrA 10-17-2006 12:11 AM

No, they still would have lost even if Larry Fitzgerald were playing.

You win a game when your QB plays the worst game of his life and its a bad thing? I think that just shows they got the sickest D in the NFL. Grossman won't play like that again, I'd be real surprised if he did. He was just forcing a lot of shit since he was down early. I don't see how the Bears aren't the favorites in the NFC right now.

RoXer 10-17-2006 12:14 AM

24-42, 232 yds
2 TDs

:?:

UmbrellaCorporation 10-17-2006 12:15 AM

yeah, I'm with Stima. I doubt we'll see a piss poor performance like that from Grossman again. He hasn't disappointed yet, so I expect we'll see him picking it back up over the next few weeks.

AlphaBean 10-17-2006 12:17 AM

LOL "win a game when your QB plays the worst game of his life."

See: "Superbowl whatever, Steelers over Seahawks; and Ben Roethlisberger."

Bears ARE the favorites in the NFC. Saints may get lots of hype, but besides Drew Brees, they're horrible and overrated.

RoXer 10-17-2006 12:18 AM

So, everyone still likes the Bears after tonight?

okay

Wow, do not want to be an Arizona Cardinal player right now.

DrA 10-17-2006 12:46 AM

To be fair, at least he reacted in a truthful way. You see coaches that are all, "Yeah, we didn't win that game because the other team played better football." He knows he should have won that game and is acting like someone who just blew a big game.

i was telling people at the bar when the Bears were down 14-0 that Devin Hester was a bad bad man. No one listened to me.

When he ran that punt back, i went fucking nuts.

Why? How am I stupid? Ben played atrociously and won the SuperBowl... kind of like how Grossman won tonight.

Also, spell check before insulting someone's intelligence. Reading your posts makes me want to hang myself. LOL I don't even have to finish this thought, do I? You all know what I'm going to say next.

screw spell check. If you cant figure out what i'm saying then dont try. Stop acting like this is high school and simply reply. People who bring up grammar, usually have nothing else to come back with .

My points was that, New Orleans has alot more then just Drew Brees, which makes your comment incredibly stupid.

You fucking faggot, of all the things to call me out about why does it have to be that? FUCK.

Do you have ANY IDEA how pissed off Krispy is going to be when he reads that post? And now you've gone and ruined the fun? Of course they have a lot more than Brees, Christ. But you say that shit to Krispy, he'll go off for a month. :foc:

I remember when it happened... my GF at the time called me, and I was extremely depressed. She asked why, I told her, she laughed at me so I stopped talking to her.

God, what a bitch. If she was in the room with me I probably would have punched her right in the face. Hahahaha I was outraged. I broke my TV remote that game too. :(

RP 10-17-2006 01:47 AM

Ya, fucking Jake, John, Cade, or whatever McNown. I had 30$ on that game and i was so pissed the rest of the day.

"Horrible and overrated" beat the second best team in the NFC, with dominate ball control..

Even still, I think the Bears are still the best team in the NFC. I know it's like "wow they went down 20-0 against Arizona", but the fact is they overcame that and still won the game. A win is a win no matter how dirty it is.

Yeah flip it around. If it was even throughout and they won at the end after an evenly-matched game, or if the Cards failed in their comeback attempt... same result.

Whether by an inch or a yard, the Lions still lose. LOL, their only good players on both sides of the ball (Woody, Rogers)

Jesus Shuttlesworth 10-18-2006 01:15 AM

LOL

AlphaBean 10-18-2006 01:27 AM

Booger McFarland.

Hahahaha the Colts use their D Tackles like tampons. Plug 'em in, yank 'em out, toss 'em away, get a new one.

RP 10-18-2006 01:38 AM

huh? Corey Simon is injured cause he's fat. Whats Larry Triplett done ( besides being a pretty good D tackle when we had him )

We miss Triplett, but i think McFarland will be better then both of them. Infact i'm really proud that Polian went out and got a good defensive tackle that knows the system and can play right away with a major impact.

RP 10-18-2006 01:38 AM

Did i mention we'll be getting Bob Sanders back this week.

BOB SANDERS!

Jesus Shuttlesworth 10-18-2006 01:40 AM

McFarland used to be pretty good, dunno about how hes been playing lately though (like last 3 years haha) Haven't heard much about him

RP 10-18-2006 01:51 AM

Its better then nothing, which is what we have.

AlphaBean 10-18-2006 02:25 AM

Bucs D is old and slow. Booger I think is still in his prime, but Rice, Brooks, Barber, Spires, that MLB I never remember his name... they're old.

Dunno why I heard they're getting rid of Brian Kelly though. Vikes should pick him uppppppppppppp.

RP 10-18-2006 04:45 AM

Oct 17 John Tomase, of the Boston Herald, reports New England Patriots WR Doug Gabriel would like for the team to pursue Oakland Raiders WR Randy Moss prior to the NFL's trading deadline Tuesday, Oct. 17. "He'd be a perfect fit in this offense," Gabriel said of Moss. "He loves to work. If Randy were here, every other receiver would want to pick up their games 110 percent. It wouldn't just be a small push. It would be a big push."

Dude, you're Doug Gabriel.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 10-18-2006 08:17 PM

lol Yeah

Herald has nothing to talk about, no Red Sox, Patriots coming off a bye week, Cetics only in the preseason.

Bruins dont make the backpage, so I won't eventalk about them

AlphaBean 10-18-2006 09:44 PM

Fucking come on. Randy Moss a Patriot? You wouldn't want that?

But in honesty, Moss does push his receivers. In MN they all were behind him, 100%. Kelly Campbell had productive years here... since Moss was traded, Campbell hasn't made an NFL squad. Burleson was another protege of Moss... Moss is a leader at his position. Maybe he can't be a leader for offensive linemen, but look at how skinny Moss is... how can he relate?

"Hey yawl, I like to eat too... uh, but not as much as yawl. Anyone wanna play Madden and burn one?"

Dunno. A receiver can't be a team leader, Tim Brown doesn't know shit. He wasn't the only veteran on his team, the Raiders were built around old people.
