The Great Outdoors: 8.5/10
Oh, that John Candy... awesome. |
SAW THE REUNION WITH JOHN CENA IT WAS GOOD 8/10. NETFLIX IS BIBLICAL
|
Woman in Black 2: Angel of Death. More of the same but still, it increased my phobia of going upstairs and hearing loud bumps at night.
8/10. |
Selma 7/10. Good movie but I could see why the actor wasn't nominated.
|
Ex Machina 8/10
Alicia Vikander is quickly becoming a favourite of mine, and not just because she is ridiculously cute. |

Whiplash (2014) - 8/10
Was good but I guess I was expecting it to be "effing amazing." Seemed like a kinda basic storyline... but was good though. Love J.K. Simmons, pretty much "made the movie" |
The Taking of Deborah Logan 6/10
Was alright I guess. As far as the whole "found footage" horror movies go, it's better than most. One really creepy part at the end. |
Two Night Stand - 7.5/10
|
Foxcatcher - 7/10. Pretty intense movie, but it's been promoted more than any other movie here right now, it it just didn't quite live up to the hype for me.
The Grand Budapest Hotel - 8/10. I found this quite humerous. |
You're Next- 7/10
Dunno, feel like I might rate it a point or two higher if I watch it again knowing what to expect. I was really in the mood for a horror movie when it started, and it starts out that way, but half way through it urns more into an action thriller/revenge movie. Like, it's not scary at all at that point because the protagonist is this badass, and the villains are grossly incompetent in comparison. Also, and this is just me, but in these types of movies, the attackers are much less scary when they have a motive. Like it's lot scarier to me when they seemingly are doing it just because they want to. Like in Strangers. "Because you were home." Anyway, it was still really good, and if I wasn't in the mood specifically for straight horror, I might have enjoyed it even more. It's on Netflix. Watch it. |
You're Next is probably one of the shittest movies I watched in 2014.
|
Get the Gringo-7/10
Pretty solid Mel Gibson flick. Had a gritty feel to it. Was funny. The Machine-8/10 Arrow's Caity Lotz is in this. Makes a pretty sexy machine. The idea behind it all was pretty good. Well done sci-fi action thriller. The Conspiracy-8/10 Pretty good mocunentary type thriller that wraps up its ending perfectly in line with its title. |
The Imitation Game - 3.5/5
Not the best of the Best Picture nominees. Not really Benny's best, either. But a good story nonetheless. |
Frank - 8/10. Very entertaining movie, especially if you like off-beat comedy and music. (its on Netflix)
|
The Wedding Ringer - 7/10
Good for what it was. I enjoy Kevin Hart more than most people on the internet, it seems. |
American Sniper - I give that movie a USA #1 rating. 10/10
|
The Imitation Game - 10/10 - absolutely loved it
The Wedding Ringer - 8/10 - above average comedy X-Men - 5/10 - I could see the appeal back in the day, but watching it now seemed outdated.... kind of like the original Mission Impossible |

John Carter + Star Wars + Fifth Element or any Babylon 5-ish episodes = This movie. Space porn opera at its finest. 9/10. |
Mila Kunis + anything really is like sex on film
|
and wtf @ Raven Reaper seeing a movie that someone's heard of before
|
The Imitation Game - 9/10
|
The Theory of Everything - 7/10.... Wasn't anything special.... dude did a great job at "acting" I guess, so it gets an extra point....
|
Big Hero 6 - 8/10

The Dictator - 4 out of 5.

hey everyone its me rad dggy dg and the last movie i watched was Space Jam with Michael Jordan and Bugs Bunny. It was really funny.
|
Joe: 9/10
Cage should have won an oscar. Awesome work. |
Leaving Las Vegas: 7.1/10
Not nearly as good as people led me to believe. |
Punch Drunk Love: 6.64/10
Most of that score is for Phillip Seymour Hoffman's few minutes of screen time. Last half hour is what the entire movie should have been. |
I Know That Voice 8/10
Good documentary made by Bender from Futurama about voice actors. |
Justin Bieber: Believe
0/10 |
Kingsman: 9/10 Excellent action and story, the perfect ending as well ;)
|
Aeon: The Last Vampyre on Earth 6/10
Very low budget but if you can make it through the first 15 minutes this might be your thing. --Fleeing a cataclysm of unimaginable origin, Catherine in a nightmare while holed up in a crumbling warehouse where a crypto classified "human predator," has been accidentally set free. Catherine soon realizes that she is in fact not alone - coming face to face with the last Vampyre who is starving from being imprisoned in a weakened state for decades. Catherine begins to fear that she may have stumbled into her own tomb, but reaches within herself to engage with the creature learning more about human history than the world outside would dare to face, a truth so alarming and illusion shattering that it could only be told by the last Vampyre on Earth.-- |
Went and saw Kingsman tonight. Holy hell I enjoyed that movie way more than I anticipated. It was utterly fantastic. Without giving away too many spoilers, the "church scene" was so fucking awesome. 10/10
|
Gone With the Wind: 7.9/10
2nd half was subpar in comparison with the first, but I now get the appeal that Clark Gable had 75 years ago. |
Horrible Bosses 2 - 7/10
|
Focus - 8/10
It was kind of what I expected. Well-made, decent twists and turns and crap, nothing too wild. Will Smith was good in it |
The Theory of Everything 10/10

10/10. The most adorable buddy robot movie ever. a bit like Johnny No.5/Robocop storyline with a bit of Avatar-ish finale. Almost felt like Die Antwoord dominated the screentime other than Chappie himself turning into a gangsta raging robot. Lots of LOL moments. Die Antwoord's music almost occupied half of the screentime during the funny moments of Chappie being gangsta violent with DA (Cookie Thumper, Baby's On Fire, Fatty Boom Boom) and Enter the Ninja the most epic song played during the finale moments of Chappie. Poor Yolandi.. I cried my eyes out. :( Gotta love how Die Antwoord in the movie even have their alias names mentioned plus flaunting their music merchandises on their gangsta troops from orange jackets to Yolandi's pet rats and trademark shorts and sexy shirt on their concerts. For those who hate Die Antwoord, I suggest you watch this movie. Sure, their music sucks to your personal tastes, but hey it's a funny yet entertaining next level Zef movie, mothafukkas. Don't blame me if you get one of their songs stuck in your head cos the 2nd half of the movie has their music hits blasting during the funny moments of Chappie turning into a ZEF GANGSTA BLING MOTHERFUKKA.. Enjoy. |
Birdman: Or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance): 9/10
Only lost 1 point because I wouldn't see myself watching this movie "all the time" or anything. But it was pretty great. The way it was meant to look like one long, single take, was awesome. The director said something like "There are no cuts in life" when explaining it, which puts into perspective SPOILER: show |
Chappie - 6/10 mostly because I can't fucking stand die antwoord

The ABC's of Death 2 4/10 Not as good as the first
|
Run All Night - 6/10
Not bad by any means, but it's nothing we haven't seen before a million times, and that's just including Neeson's own movies |
The Hunger Games - Mockingjay - Part 1: 5/10.
Felt exactly like what it is.... an incomplete movie.... Not really a strong enough story it seems to me to be two movies.... Could probably have just had one movie and it would have turned out better.... wouldn't make the studios as much $ though, so it wouldn't happen.... |
Chef - 10/10
This movie is perfect & featured most of my favorite sub-genres in film. Father/son relationships. Road trip. Buddy/Buddy. Music. Food. Comedy. Drama pretty much perfect for MY tastes. http://reelandunscripted.com/wp-cont...vie-Poster.jpg |
plus Favreau is the best
|
Get Hard - 7/10
Pretty much what you expect. I enjoyed it. Too many race jokes but again, you kinda know that going in. Alison Brie super hot. |

Furious 7 - 3/5
Sadly, the franchise went out on a whimper. Wasn't as good as 6. Nice little tribute for Paul Walker at the end. However, Jason Statham spoke soft, fought hard, and stole the movie. |

Sin City: A Dame to Kill For - 7.5/10
Lots of Eva Green boobs got it more points... |
DisOrientation - 1/10. I honestly cannot find the correct words to sum up what a masterpiece this was. Sorry, I didn't mean to say masterpiece, it should have read "Steaming pile of horse shit", or something else close to that effect. It was just terribly horrible.
|
Fast & Furious 7 - 8/10
Just a ridiculous storyline and stunts but if you switch your brain off, god was it enjoyable. Nice tribute at the end that brought a lot of tears to the cinema audience. |
Happy, Texas: 7.7/10
Good, solid late '90's era comedy. |
Unbreakable: 8/10
Tight production, slick story, and Willis played his role to perfection . |
Whiplash - 10/10
Fantastic movie on the dedication it takes to be good at something. |

I watched 5 and 6 recently because I was intrigued by the fact that the series has supposedly gotten better and I like The Rock. Here are my spoiler filled thoughts and observations.
Fast Five was good, perfect mix of self aware ridiculousness and legitimate film making. Was Vin Diesel getting broken out of the prison bus part of this movie or was it to get people up to speed with the franchise? Scene where they are in the Favela jumping from rooftop to rooftop was legitimately good. Jordanna Brewster jumps 20 feet off a roof, crashes through sheet metal and then tells Paul Walker she is pregnant. "Aww hell nah" - Ludacris' first line of dialogue. None of the lead characters are really interesting or charismatic but they are sincere and seem like nice people so you get invested in them. The Rock is awesome though, he is mean to people and crashes through windows... no way Vin Diesel could take him. Final action sequence is great, I'm glad they completely abandoned their Ocean 11 approach and just ripped the bank vault out of the wall with their cars. Interesting streak of anarchism running through this film, contemporary figures and institutions of power are demolished - the rich, the police, a bank. Boring epilogue. 8/10 Fast and Furious 6 - The Rock has still got it. The scene with the supercar that flips regular cars is great. Good little inside reference with the little Asian boy on the bus, I wonder how many little inside jokes I'm missing. I like that every British guy in this movie gets their ass kicked or they are humiliated. I totally forgot about Jon Kano fellater Michelle Rodriguez, ugh, too much backstory and Vin Diesel. I don't like her amnesia subplot, I guess I don't approve of soap opera storytelling mixing with big blockbuster aesthetics. Ludacris is accused of changing/selling out since acquiring millions of dollars, apparently he use to be a modern day Robin Hood, he challenges this by rigging an ATM machine to shoot out loads of cash that is quickly collected by hot women with breast implants. Tank scene was okay. MMA chick from those animated gif memes is a good addition, I don't know if her heel turn makes sense but whatever. Tyrese Gibson has gone from comic relief to completely fucking retarded, he is of no benefit to the rest of the team and almost shoots our main characters with a grappling hook. Main bad guy looked familiar, I thought I might know him from some cool foreign film, I was disappointed to discover that I recognized him from the Hobbit films. Airplane scene pretty good, not as good as the bank vault scene from Fast Five though. Sweet doomsday device by the Rock and Vin. I was hoping it would be the hot Israeli girl who emerges from the fire. Haha, movie ends with our heroes holding hands saying grace. 6/10 |
The Jason Staham reveal is pretty fucking cool
|
I didn't even know about that so I just watched it now off of the youtube, cool. Debating if I should see #7 at the theater or wait for home video...
Decisions, decisions |
May as well do IMAX if you can, that's what I did

The Man with the Iron Fists 2 - 0/5
First one was enough. And even that wasn't good. |

Two Jamaican guys talked throughout the entire film. Spoiler filled thoughts and observations. Jason Statham is the vengeful evil brother sequel bad guy, see Jeremy Irons in Die Hard: With A Vengeance for more info. I feel like this franchise has a lot in common with professional wrestling: male soap opera, inoffensive violence, completely ridiculous, The Rock. Speaking of the Rock, I was disappointed that his role was reduced to a glorified cameo, they make the best of him though, he does a sweet Rock bottom through a table and shatters his cast by flexing his arm. I really liked Vin Diesel in this one, cinema needs more melancholic, unintelligible action heroes who are obsessed with family. He even pulled me into the Michelle Rodriguez still having amnesia because a car exploded beside her storyline. That action scene where they are rescuing the hacker girl from the bus is one of the series best, the stuff with Paul Walker on the bus was very suspenseful. Tons of barely dressed hot girls shaking their asses in the United Arab Emirates. I like how the characters in the movie can do anything, Vin Diesel is a Corona drinking everyman mechanic who can infiltrate an exclusive party thrown by a billionaire like he's James Bond and he can fight anyone while wielding a wrench like it's a Katana. Like its characters, the movie can do anything and everything. It's a heist movie melodrama action blockbuster kung fu spy movie urban warfare thriller with cars. The car that's in the penthouse of that billionaire got a pretty big pop from the audience I saw this with. The ending was sentimental but touching, I liked it. They made it as uplifting as possible, Paul Walker's character Brian happily accepts domesticity, Vin of course values family more than anything so while he verbally expresses his happiness and reverence for Brian, his eyes say "I'll miss you buddy" |
mitch_h, I know you're not a big film buff or anything but there was some heavy symbolism at the end that I think you may have missed. Would you like me to explain it to you?
|
If you're living in a vacuum or like 30 years from now and you have no idea who Paul Walker is or how he died, the ending must seem VERY weird.

Hot Fuzz 10/10
Loved every minute of it. Liked even more than Shun of The Dead. Need to see World's End. |
See, he took the exit because he can't drive anymore. Not because there's anything mechanically wrong with his car, no. It's because he's dead.

Furious 7 - 10/10
And that's coming from someone who's not seen any of the prior 6 movies, or has any inkling of interest in "car culture" whatsoever beyond acknowledging that my Chevy HHR has 4 wheels and can get me from home to work. The movie is so ridiculous and absurd and hits every action movie note and I loved it. Everybody in the movie is awesome. And c'mon, Tony Jaa. |
Child 44 6/10
I like Tom Hardy, but I thought the film was a bit blah. |
The Avengers: Age of Ultron - I didn't really like this that much. Inferior to the first Avengers film in every way except in spectacle, I guess. It was overstuffed and sacrificed character and pacing for exposition and I didn't particularly care for any of the new characters, but I guess I could see how fans of comics would. It was never boring though, and there were some good scenes and I liked that saving civilians was a major focus... felt like a jab at Man of Steel.
6/10 |
Ex Machina - 4.5/5
Whoa. |
Avengers: Age of Ultron - 8/10. Liked it. Mobile post see other comments I've made elsewhere zzz
|
Meth Head - 7/10
one of those films that isn't always easy to watch but you must. it is a very gritty and at times blunt look at addiction to crystal meth. Lukas Haas is amazing in this as the lead character Kyle Peoples. Lukas puts it all into the role. He actually makes you feel sympathetic to him. At the end as he is all alone and weak you truly feel sorry for the guy. Necar Zadegan, Blake Berris and many of the supporting actors are fantastic in their roles. Jane Clark is an amazing director. |
Avengers 2: 6/10
|
Black Sea - 4/5
|
The Drop 7.5/10
Tom Hardy always seems to bring the good these days. |
Watching Gravity at the moment. Holy fuck this film is boring.
