Thinking about Jay White right now. Matt Jackson made sure to remind Adam Cole and us that White is/was arch rivals with Kenny, furthering the gap between Cole and Omega that had already been established. Clearly Cole/Kenny is the ultimate goal. More on that in a moment.

So the appearance of Jay White is interesting because it unbalanced the odds. Before Jay, we were pretty clear to see a 6-Man program between the Elite. Omega & The Bucks vs O'Reilly, Fish & Cole. This whole story may even be getting the label of The Elite vs The Bullet Club. There is another name out there beyond the door that can be of interest here.

I am seeing a Revolution PPV where we see Kenny return to action against Jay White and Adam Cole challenging Hangman Page for the AEW Championship. If Cole, White, Fish & O'Reilly were a "Bullet Club" alliance there is one more spot on The Elite to even the odds. I wouldn't go with Cutler, how about Tama Tonga? He's been the leader of The Bullet Club for a while, you could have Kenny bring him aboard and what a difference that would make for them huh? His ultra intense promo style and his ring work is 100% different than the rest of The Elite.

That way we could keep the faction war going until the next PPV and do a Stadium Stampede with The Elite (Omega, Tonga & The Bucks) vs The Bullet Club (Cole, O'Reilly, Fish & White).

Back to the ultimate goal of Kenny vs Cole. I think this could easily be an AEW Championship match with Cole taking the belt from Hangman but that isn't a lock obviously. I could even see a play where Cole gets attacked by a debuting Tama Tonga during his match with Hangman to lose his chance at gold, thus fueling this proposed Stadium Stampede I've come up with.

That sounds like a pretty good undercard to whatever Keith Lee is doing in the main event.

Lots of things wrong with this. Seeing a loss is more important than whether or not it is technically on someone’s bullshit record or not. People saw a skinny white guy lose to another skinny white guy. There’s also a big difference between pushing your female star with the most commercial potential by having her do an unusual style of match in a losing effort to someone with credibility. That helped get Britt over in what is, let’s be honest, a mid-card role.

And can we please stop using the word “draw” when it comes to these car wrecks? 1 million people is not drawing. How can there be “no one cares about WWE” memes when it is watched by several times the number of people that watch AEW? It’s like when Mick Foley defended the sex offender by saying his shtick puts a smile on every face. Yes, on the 50 faces an advertiser wants to avoid being associated with their product. People are not tuning in to see these acts. They are laughing at them and then switching off to the product and likely wrestling forever. Causally linking attention to approval is such a Vince Russo trait. These acts are not growing the promotion. They are getting comparative attention compared to a flat product no one watches because they cannot sincerely emotionally invest.

This is why Danhausen’s merchandise selling (allegedly) very well by AEW standards is an indictment. It’d be like Kaientai’s “Indeed” shirt doing well compared to The Rock’s and people saying “Wow! Kaientai is over!” No. What the fuck have you done to The Rock?

There’s a reason they don’t give you the actual numbers for these shirts. And there’s a reason people check out of this product.

Adam Cole losing to Orange Cassidy, clean on tv is not good. No amount of mental gymnastics can excuse that.

These are the kind of decisions that are holding AEW back. And the fact that Tony khan is so committed to it that he's willing to write an essay defending it, doesn't give much hope that he's open to change.

Why are they putting Jay White's debut match on Rampage next week? That seems real shortsighted to debut him on a taped edition of their B Show. Also, if they want him to be a big deal, couldnt they have done better than Trent Beretta?

When you sign with AEW you get to have you're first match with a buddy.

Yeah. OC should not be a main player. I liked him best when he was more on the fringes like that one match where there was a brawl backstage and someone gets tossed through a bathroom door and OC is just standing there.

I get that those are the things that get him popular enough to be featured but he's basically a comedy act like Santino. He can have a moment or two but he should not be involved in title matches and main events with main event guys on a regular basis. He should top out at things like his match against PAC at Evolution a couple of years ago.

He shouldn't be beating top guys. End of story.

One of the biggest things that pissed me off was comparing it to Britt Baker's loss in a similar match. The difference being that one of them lost to an opponent who's greatest career accomplishment prior to AEW was winning titles while dressing up as an ant in a comedy promotion. Britt's opponent's biggest accomplishment prior to AEW was being the NWA Women's Champion. Only way it would be comparable is if Orange Cassidy falls off the face of the earth for months at a time, and that isn't happening.

They would have to strip OC of the things that make him OC if they really want him to be a serious main eventer. You get rid of the lazy gimmick and he's just meh.

Cassidy it’s ridiculously over and has been since debuting. He absolutely has a spot in the company. He just shouldn’t be hanging with the likes of their world champions. I said this way back when he got a ppv match with Pac. It was way too competitive given that Pac had beaten two future world champs and worked a draw with another. You don’t give a comedy act 15 minutes with Pac. You give him 5 work some shine and a decisive loss.
